Power management

I am using STM32 controller with stbc02 battery charging chip from st for monitoring the battery level voltage. While trying to read the battery adc voltage from BATMS pin,it always shows 0.How to set the battery to be in working mode?

We are using the STEVAL-STWINKT1b, where shutdown works great, but if there is anything connected to STMOD+ it still draws current. How can we shutdown the VDD of the STMOD+ connection port?

STEVAL-STMODLTE + STEVAL-STWINKT1B in shutdown mode consumes more current.
