RM0090 - reset values missing from RCC register map table

This is in both RCC chapters.

As usually, I did not check other RMs.

Hello,

thank you Jan,

Ticket entered (135732).

Thanks, Mike_ST!

@Mike_ST ,

One more note: IMO it's almost okay that the reset values are not present in that table, just remove the text saying there are.

There are other peripherals in RM which don't have the reset values in those tables, although it's a help in many cases. Better have just one correct source of information (the registers' desciption subchapters) rather than two but one of them incorrect.

I'm not sure what will be done, as you wrote, maybe technical writers will just change the title.

STM32F4 is a bit old now... not sure that a lot of effort will be put in updating all the peripherals reset values.

I personally am okay with that, so it's up the professional prudence of those writers :) . Thanks again.

And what? Ain't it a bestseller, still? The number of revisions, and the fact it's still appears to be made also in Crolles IMO indicates it is.

In fact, there's no adequate replacement for it - it combines a relatively high controllability (which the 'CM7-based STMs genuinely do lack, resulting in all nasty sorts of programming issues) with relatively high computing power. Plus it does not have the insanely and - honestly - a bit stupidly overcomplicated peripherals of 'H7. Plus it is 90nm, not 45nm which appears to be problematic from longevity point of view.

Hi,

I'd like to add more weight on the "register reset values" in the register map table.

I have come across this feature only recently, and I would like it to be implemented on all the RM (if this is not the case already of course).

And I second @Community member regarding the F4 family, much simpler and efficient than its bigger brother F7 and H7.

Best regards,

Kraal

Until the part is marked as NRND, it must be supported. That means updating the documentation, SVD files and software libraries.
