THANKS to ST for wasting days and weeks of customer´s time with MCSDK and cubeIDE ...

even in times of covid-19, i want to concentrate on my tasks and NOT on the tools. Buggy and faulty as usual, since a couple of days i try to bring projects, created with MCSDK 5.4.3 to work together with CubeIDE. IDE and also the integrated MX, as well, as the FW Packs are up to date.

Step 1: Installing MCSDK (from 2019, but ok, it´s the latest...)

Step 2: Selecting the Nucleo-IHM-001 Pack (F302R8 with IHM07M1 and bldc motor)

Step 3: Looking not too bad, but...

Step 4: wanted to generate the code...

Step 5: Needed to install CubeMX stand alone ?!? Ok... Have some space on the drives to waste...

Step 6: generating the code, found the folder and everything seems to be ok at 1st look

Step 7: opening cubeIDE and trying to IMPORT the formerly generated project (tried many ways: via .ioc, via folder, via archive.....)

Step 8: ok, import via .ioc file seems to work (ok, the stand alone version of MX is of course 5.6.1 and the integrated one is 5.6.0 (latest available...), but who cares about outdated versions in a production environment...) and at least shows the settings for the mcu. MCSDK folders are also available in the folder structure of the project, so next step...

step9 : BUILD !!!

step10: finding myself stumbling over missing headers and so on, even, when i copy them over from the originally generated project (where they still are...), build errors after build errors...

step11: UNINSTALL ALL THAT CRAP and moving on to NXP, Texas Instruments and other manufacturers... This hasn´t been the 1st time, i wasted WEEKS on the try to get the stuff up and running.

Maybe it´s intended to be accessible just for customers with additional background information, which can be obtained by a contract over 2 mios mcu´s or chips... But reality and ST´s promotion in their videos are two different worlds.

Oh... and when it comes to the videos... Many times i would expect some information and not untruthy commercials. If i want to see them, i can watch TV ....

How did you get the tools to install? It's tell me I need to UNINSTALL them first. But I did, and it is still not satisfied. Now I wonder, should I even install these tools, if the integration is not there?

The question has been moved from the "Motor Control Hardware" section to the "STM32 Motor Control" section (the question is about the STM32 MC SDK).
