Hello,We are designing a custom board using the STM32MP157FAC1 device (361 balls with 0.5 mm pitch). As per AN5031 (Page 50), laser vias with a 100 µm (~4 mil) drill hole diameter and 250 µm (~10 mil) outer pad diameter are recommended for BGA balls located within the 0.5 mm pitch matrix. A snapshot of the relevant section is attached for the reference. We would like to clarify whether a Via-On-Pad strategy can be used instead of laser vias for the BGA balls within the 0.5 mm pitch matrix of STM32MP157FAC1 device.Specifically, can we use a via of 200 µm (~8 mil) drill hole diameter and 400 µm (~16 mil) outer pad diameter as via-on-pad on the STM32MP157FAC1 BGA pads instead of the recommended laser vias ? Kindly confirm whether this approach is acceptable from the CAD layout perspective and whether it can be used in the CAD layout of our design.Regards,PS

Is there a demonstration project (outside of the CLI) for the target-wake-time feature?

I’m trying to migrate a project from the P NUCLEOWB55 MB1355 board to the P NUCLEOWB55 MB-1293 USB dongle.I retargeted the board in MX & check the pinouts etc, all fine. Opened up the project in CubeIDE & built the project.I then switched the board to BOOT0=0 (SW2) & plug it in & open CubePrgFirst issue, its really hit & miss if Prg detects the board. Most often I get Port: No DFU detected but then sometimes I actually get Port: Port 1 and the board can be connected to. It really appears to be pot luck if Prg decides it can connect. If I do manage to get it to connect, I update the FUS & stack, press the Start Stack button as outlined in a previous question, and continue to upload my *.elf file.Second issue, I get nothing from the BLE, no advertising at all. This project works fine on the MB-1355 board by the way.

I open up CubeIDE, select a workspace, click “Import projects”  the project explorer tab (excuse the typo)  There is project there, But nothing appears in the Project Explorer,

Hi,We’ve been trying to implement secure-boot on our STM32H573-based device and the new code boots fine when the product state is OPEN. From what I understood, the PROVISIONING state does not boot the user code, and we thus need to put the device in iRoT-Provisioned to see if our boot chain works as expected.More info about our setup: Part: STM32H573AIIxQ DBGMCU_IDCODE (0x44024000): 0x10076484 Boot: STiRoT (BOOT_UBE=0xC3), TZEN=0xB4 Layout: secure app at 0x0C000400 (24 KB), non-secure app at 0x08006400 Software: STM32CubeMX-generated project, STM32Cube H5 HAL Debug: ST-LINK + OpenOCD, debug authentication (certificate chain), session reports Secure stateBack to the topic, I can see that te PKA register interface is fully alive, but the PKA compute engine never starts once thedevice is in iRoT-Provisioned product state. HAL_PKA_Init() spins in PKA_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout() waiting for PKA_SR.INITOK, times out after 5 s, and the application lands in Error_Handler().The exact same binary a

Dear ST Technical Support Team,I am currently working on the protection implementation of a flyback SMPS. I found the SEA05 suitable for CC/CV regulation due to its low component count, small footprint, and simple implementation.I would like to clarify the behavior of the SEA05 during a short-circuit condition. Our converter specifications are:Input voltage: 110 VDC nominal Output voltage: 15 V Output current: 5 ADuring a hard short circuit, the output voltage may fall close to 0 V. If the SEA05 is powered from Vout, its VCC will also fall below the specified minimum operating voltage of 3.5 V.In this condition, can the SEA05 still sink the optocoupler LED current through its output and maintain CC control, or does the IC stop operating once VCC falls below 3.5 V?If the SEA05 cannot provide CC control under this condition, please suggest a recommended method for implementing short-circuit protection with the SEA05.Thank you for your support.Best regards,Yajush

Hi ST,I’m trying to configure the clocks for the STM32C071GBUx MCU in CubeMX (latest version, 6.17).This MCU has two SPI interfaces, two UARTs, and two I²C peripherals. However, CubeMX only allows me to configure the clock for one UART, one I²C, and no SPI at all.Am I missing something?I’ve attached the complete clock configuration diagram below.

Hello everyone,I am currently evaluating the STM32H563 (using the NUCLEO-H563ZI board) with an application that sends a continuous UDP packet stream via 100 Mbps Ethernet.I've noticed that right after startup (or after flashing the board), the MAC drops a number of packets. Upon closer analysis, the MAC's TX buffer fills up completely, causing all subsequent packets to be dropped. After about 1 second, the MAC seems to stabilize, adjusts to the continuous packet flow, and begins sending all packets without loss.My questions: Why does this behavior occur? My suspicion is that the MAC might be operating in a low-power or standby mode initially, and takes a moment to ramp up to a continuous flow. Is this assumption correct? Is there a way to configure the MAC so that it operates at full speed right from initialization? Thank you for your insights!Best regards,Engineer 0815

Board: STM32F429I-DISC1 (the official ST discovery board), using its onboard SDRAM chip (IS42S16400J-7TLI, 8MB)Framework: Zephyr RTOS 3.7.0What I'm trying to do:This board has a small TFT LCD screen attached to it. I'm trying to display an image/text on that screen by drawing directly into the external SDRAM chip, which acts as the screen's picture buffer (framebuffer) - the display hardware (LTDC) continuously reads whatever's in that SDRAM and shows it on the screen. So the whole approach depends on being able to reliably write pixel data into SDRAM and have it come back out correctly. The problem, in plain terms:Whenever I write a value into the SDRAM and immediately read it back, one specific bit out of the 16 bits always comes back wrong - always the same one, every single time, no exceptions. For example:I write:  0xABCD → I read back: 0xAB4DI write:  0xBADC → I read back: 0xBA5CI write:  0x89EF → I read back: 0x896FNotice in every case, the value comes back almost identical to wh

There have been countless topics (e.g. ) on the website’s downloads not working. How is it possible that this still is an issue? Whether I use my account or try downloading as a guest: After clicking the “Download” button, I am back at the tools page with no download starting. It doesn’t make a difference whether I use Chrome or Firefox. Multiple times I had to switch to using my phone to download the software. It was only recently that I noticed that I can also use WSL to download it. I don’t even understand why the GUEST download requires entering an email address. Is there any work going on to simplify downloading the software? You should have the resources to simplify this long, tedious procedure to simply clicking the button and getting the software.

No PF0 or PF1 on NUCLEO-H533RE even though the schematic and documentation show PF0 on CN7 pin 29 and PF1 on CN7 pin 31.  Are pins 29 and 31 connected to anything or is this a documentation error?

Good morning! What can I use to replace the VNH02H component?

Hello,  I’m trying to learn how to use the STM32MP135CAEx for a upcomming project.I have been looking online through tutorials and documentation but have a few questions.Project background:I need a device that has 2 ethernet interfaces, a LCD interface and a bunch of common peripherals.I’m a big fan of STM23 controllers and have a few years of experience with them so trying out the MP series would be a next logical step for me.1)My idea was to make a small linux image on run it on the MPU. That linux then should have access to a display with toutch. The display I had in mind is 400x800 pixels.I don’t know if you can run without DDR memory, I’m gone need it, when I look at the standards RAM available. But can you run without?2)Is there a “bring up guide”?I have been trying to set up my ioc but I keep having an error marker in my DDR tab.So I can have a indication of that I understood things correctly. 3)What I’m used to from the controllers is that one a peripheral is configured correctly

STM32F407 CAN1: INAK not set in Keil µVision SimulatorI am implementing a bare-metal, polling-only CAN1 driver on an STM32F407VG in Keil µVision Simulator.During CAN initialization:CAN1->MCR.INRQ = 1;while (CAN1->MSR.INAK == 0){ /* timeout */}MCR.INRQ successfully becomes 1, but MSR.INAK never changes from 0, so the program remains stuck in the loop.I have verified: STM32F407VG is selected and Use Simulator is enabled. CAN1 clock is enabled (RCC->APB1ENR bit 25 = 1). CAN1 register writes work; for example, MCR.INRQ and BTR fields update correctly. Manually setting INRQ=1 in the CAN1 peripheral window also does not cause INAK to become 1. Similarly, setting MCR.SLEEP=1 does not cause MSR.SLAK to become 1. TSR.TME0/TME1/TME2 also remain 0. Is the CAN1 peripheral state-machine behavior (INRQ → INAK, SLEEP → SLAK, mailbox status, etc.) actually supported for the STM32F407VG in the Keil µVision simulator? Or is there a specific configuration required for these hardware

Good morning! I need to replace an SCR with the code FLC 10 200, but it is out of production. What component can I use to replace it?

Hi,for a project involving a custom educational flight controller, I need to use the following hardware:- steval-FCU001V2 board- steval-drone02 drone kitFor clarity, here are st product page links that i used.Manual:https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um3117-how-to-build-your-own-minidrone-with-the-stevaldrone02-and-stevalfcu001v2-stmicroelectronics.pdfSteval-drone02 Drone kit companion:https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/steval-drone02.htmlSteval-FCU001V2 FCU board:https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/steval-fcu001v2.htmlMy main issues are as follows: I can’t get it to fly with the factory-loaded firmware, and I can’t even reload the firmware.I followed the UM3117 manual to assemble the kit and perform the initial tests. Compared to the materials and manuals available for version V1 of the drone kit and the Steval FCU001V1, this one seems less comprehensive, and in some images the connections aren’t very clear. When I connected the motors according to the manual, I found th

I am writing this to help.I have just received my EVB STM32MP257F-DK.When I have connected my USB cable in "USB PWR STLNK".LD5 and LD6 were RED,  LD11 was flashing GREEN once.Installed the SD card and nothing, no boot ?Win11 was claiming that the driver is fine and the latest. The USB port were displayed as regular: USB PORT COM9 and COM10.Pressing the RESET button B1 nothing: No BOOT, no bad character on both ports ???Disconnecting the USB cable was well detected by Tera Term but nothing else.I have decided to install STM32CubeProgrammer Winn64 to check ithe ST-LINK by trying to connect.During the installation of the tool, the installer has advised  that it is installing a driver. With no intervention, my EVB started to work, booting LINUX and all the LEDS have started flashing like a chritmasResetting the EVB, we can see Linux booting on  port COM10 115200,8,N1See the image attached when the driver work fine and how it is displayed in Win11 device manager.Have fun.Best regards,SuperGDx

I need to perform lot of mathematical calculations and within a fixed time interval, the micro is STM32G474 my question is even if floating point calculator is available, do you recommend to use fixed point calcuations Q15 format etc. or I can go ahead with floating point calculations, will i get same performance? Please clarify.

Evaluating the STM32G081B-EVAL board, and I’m struggling to find the sizes of the two DC barrel jacks on the board and UCPD daughter board (5V CN16 and 19V CN3). As I understand it, it would be sufficient to power CN3 and let that power the mainboard, but I can’t find either of these sizes.Checking the BOM shows CN3 as Qiaod DC-094, but I can’t find any information about this either.Does anyone know what size of power supply barrel jack we will need for either (preferably CN3)?

I’m running into a ‘Heisenbug’ crash (just adding or moving a bit of general code between builds makes it either crash or work), and when it crashes, the STLINK-V3MINI can’t attach, or if already attached, it fails to halt the processor.Any tips or advice about catching it in the act or theories as to the cause?
