I just don’t use this much, thanks in advance!
In Notifications, I have a link to a post, which - judging from the poster’s name (Lowtaperfades haircut) - was an attempt to spam and has gotten deleted. There are two issues with this:-- a removed post should perhaps be removed from my Notifications, too-- more importantly, a post which was there and has been removed, should not lead to a generic “page not found”, but there should be a “we’ve removed this post” landing page for this particular case (it also perhaps shouldn’t be titled “Join the conversation”Also, the widespread usage of the phrase “Something’s gone wrong” does not inspire confidence… :-)JW
Usually, this forum renders the URL of a post or thread as a banner with the poster’s avatar, and the thread title.Except when it doesn’t.Example:Here. Both of those links were copied using the ‘Link’ option in the menu - so why is one just shown as a “raw” URL, while the other is converted? It was the same in the editor before posting.
When you type ‘@’, you get a list of thread contributors. It would be useful if that list identifies which one started the thread. Also, It seems to me that the thread starter (almost?) always appears at the very end of the list - which seems unhelpful. PS:Also, the list includes my own username - which seems pointless ? Example:
The old forum had a facility to report a User Profile; eg, an inappropriate avatar or username or for spamming. This was separate from reporting Posts.I don’t see that on the new forum ?
it seems there is no way to block a user or delete inappropriate pm messages? that’s a bit out of control.. i guess i’m not the only one receiving this:
I’ve had 3 “marked as best answer” notifications this morning:They are all old threads: Last activity 2 months ago; Last activity 2 months ago; Last activity 1 month ago. So this looks like ST tidying-up abandoned threads - rather than the users returning to mark solutions? As previously mentioned, this is fine - but I think it should be made clear when ST has done this, rather than the OP.The old forum did, at least, include this in the notification; @Lina_DABASINSKAITE had it “on the radar” then as an improvement. PS:Just had a fourth: Again, an abandoned thread - last activity a month ago:
Hello,I no longer use my My ST account and would like to have it permanently deleted.I checked the account settings, but I could not find any option to delete the account myself.Could someone from ST support please help me delete my account?Thank you.
Nothing happened for ages; no animation of the ‘Create’ button.I gave up, did a select-all and copy-paste to a new post in a new tab. That one worked fine: Back at the original (still stuck “waiting”), I hit refresh, and it just went back to a blank form - all my edits lost and gone forever (if i hadn’t had the foresight to take a copy). See also:But this time there was no error message - it just hung in that “waiting” state. Again, this is why we need the forum to save drafts!
I typed up a reply, all text, and hit submit. Then a message pops up saying Something’s gone wrong and my entire message is erased. No indication as to what happened. I’m logged in normally, nothing special going on from my side. Guess I have to copy my message to clipboard before hitting send.
I have some stored links, which use the stcommunity.st.com third-level domain (note that it is not community but stcommunity), for example https://stcommunity.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/empty-check-mechanism-on-stm32/ta-p/49369These now display a message saying Khoros is down. As it’s an st.com domain, i.e. under ST’s control, these may be changed.A proper redirection would be nice.JW

Hi everyone!I get an error message when trying to create a support request. The same just like in this topic.I don't know who is my Salesforce admin is or how to contact them.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mostly, the forum converts a link to a post/thread to a “preview” showing the author’s avatar and post title. But sometimes it doesn’t.Example:Both of those links came from the menu ‘Copy link’ option. Here: In the above case, it was the same both in the editor and after posting.Sometimes, the “preview” doesn’t show in the editor, but does show once posted.
I was trying to edit my post here:https://community.st.com/feedback-forum-118/inconsistent-presentation-of-links-167657?postid=747370#post747370 After inserting images and links and stuff, the “Send” button was grayed out. I had to hit “Cancel”, edit the post again, redo everything, and hit send (which was not grayed out this time). No indication as to why it was grayed out.
None of these issues is actually solved: The posts marked as the solution are just “We will add this to the list to be considered for improvement”.That’s not a solution!I don’t think a solution should be marked until the issue is actually resolved - whether by fixing the issue, or with a decision that it will not be fixed.
Here: It says “2 Replies” - but there are actually three (one is hidden): Also in the Topic listing: I said this “hiding” of replies would lead to confusion - it seems it’s even confusing the forum itself !
When trying to log on using my admittedly old but up to date on software iPhone, I get the error “Safari can’t open the page because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server.” It used to work on this forum. For at least the last week it no longer does. I can browse but can’t log in as the error happens when I press the “Login” button on the top right.Using Firefox I get the error “The owner of sso.st.com has configured their website improperly.”
The old forum allowed this, but I can’t see it in the new one.Related:
I am unable to change profile/username name can someone help me out
Currently a link to the top of a thread will give exactly the same preview as a link to a specific reply within that thread; eg, see here: I think it would be helpful if the preview made some distinction ?
This forum allows users to ‘like’ their own posts - that’s just silly! (I have ‘liked’ this one purely for the purpose of demonstration)
The link is:https://community.st.com/stm32-mcus-products-25/what-is-the-best-way-to-generate-morse-code-signals-on-an-stm32-167580?tid=167580&postid=747388#post747388But that page is not found: Search does not find that thread. Maybe the thread has been deleted? If so, that should be notified. Or the notification removed. The new forum doesn’t seem to allow searching for usernames PS:Separate thread on the lack of username search:
I'm trying to change my account password (https://www.st.com/content/my_st_com/en/my-space/manage-my-account/Change_Password.html#), but I can't. I've made sure the new password meets the requirements, but when I click the button to change it, the box showing the requirements turns red, and the change isn't processed. What could be happening? Thanks.
It would be nice if the new forum provided Dark Mode. The new one somehow even prevents Dark Reader (under Safari) from working correctly. Dark Reader worked fine on the old forum platform, so imagine my surprise… 😳
