The new forum seems to be wrapping lines within source code blocks; eg lines 44 & 45 here: This really messes with the layout - surely, it’s one of the things which a code block specifically should not do ?
Hello,Can the admin please help deleting my account permanently? If you are admin and read this then please do so asap. @changed01
eg, this morning, https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/stm32f4discovery.html It used to be possible to right-click the link, and choose ‘Open in new tab’ - and the PDF would, indeed, open in a new browser tab. That no longer works: it insists that you download the file.Same if I copy & paste the link here.https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32f407vg.pdf This applies to both the ‘Download datasheet’ button on the main page: and the link on the ‘Documentation’ tab: But the Application Note links can still be viewed online; eg,https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an4230-introduction-to-random-number-generation-validation-using-the-nist-statistical-test-suite-for-stm32-mcus-and-mpus-stmicroelectronics.pdf This is Really Bad - because it means it is no longer possible to post links to specific pages in datasheets; eg,https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32f407vg.pdf#page=1which I do a lot; eg, here:Where I link to page 63 of the datasheet, as that’s where the
The old forum used to identify locked (read-only) threads in the topic listings. The new forum doesn’t: The highlighted ones are all read-only.This needs to be identified in the listings. PS:See also:
In this thread:There is a PDF attached. On the old forum, attached PDFs could be viewed online - without having to download.I can’t see how to do that now - clicking, or right-clicking and choosing ‘open in new tab’ both just try to start a download.Am I missing something?
I just got a notification to tell me that a solution has been marked in one of my own threads.I really don’t need a notification to tell me that - because I did it myself! In general, it’s only the thread creator who can mark the solution - so the thread creator should never need a notification of this.(the exception would be when a moderator marks a solution, but that is an exception - not usual)
The highlighted threads here are all 3 or more years old: See also:
I was trying to edit my post here:https://community.st.com/feedback-forum-118/inconsistent-presentation-of-links-167657?postid=747370#post747370 After inserting images and links and stuff, the “Send” button was grayed out. I had to hit “Cancel”, edit the post again, redo everything, and hit send (which was not grayed out this time). No indication as to why it was grayed out.
There needs to be a feature within Sidekick to directly report when it gives incorrect information. This should automatically capture required diagnostic info, like the original prompt.See:(Sidekick gave a bad link) Also:
In Notifications, I have a link to a post, which - judging from the poster’s name (Lowtaperfades haircut) - was an attempt to spam and has gotten deleted. There are two issues with this:-- a removed post should perhaps be removed from my Notifications, too-- more importantly, a post which was there and has been removed, should not lead to a generic “page not found”, but there should be a “we’ve removed this post” landing page for this particular case (it also perhaps shouldn’t be titled “Join the conversation”Also, the widespread usage of the phrase “Something’s gone wrong” does not inspire confidence… :-)JW
Hello,I am a beginner with STM32C5 and CubeMX2 and consequently I asked a couple of questions to Sidekick and got some feedback with links:CubeSwPack-C5#Package content STM32 Wiki:Category:Getting started with STM32C5 security STM32 Wiki:STM32StepByStep:Getting started with STM32C5/Journey 2 Among them, one does not work:https://stm32cubedocs-dev.st.com/stm32cube-docs/stm32c5-mcu-package/2.0.0/en/structure.html Can U help?
The CODE button should be always visible on the post editor toolbar. Hope this does not need further explanation.
Hi everyone!I get an error message when trying to create a support request. The same just like in this topic.I don't know who is my Salesforce admin is or how to contact them.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello ST Support Team,I am writing to report a couple of dead product category links on the main website that are currently redirecting users to the "SORRY, PAGE NOT FOUND" default error page. The affected URLs are:Secure MCUs Category: https://www.st.com/en/secure-mcus.html Automotive Logic ICs Category: https://www.st.com/en/automotive-logic-ics.html Both of these categories are still listed in the main product navigation menus and site maps, but the links themselves are currently broken and inaccessible to developers looking for product lines.Could you please pass this information along to your web development or content management operations team so they can restore or update the correct URL redirects?Thank you,Ondřej Jelínek
I just don’t use this much, thanks in advance!
When you type ‘@’, you get a list of thread contributors. It would be useful if that list identifies which one started the thread. Also, It seems to me that the thread starter (almost?) always appears at the very end of the list - which seems unhelpful. PS:Also, the list includes my own username - which seems pointless ? Example:
The old forum had a facility to report a User Profile; eg, an inappropriate avatar or username or for spamming. This was separate from reporting Posts.I don’t see that on the new forum ?
it seems there is no way to block a user or delete inappropriate pm messages? that’s a bit out of control.. i guess i’m not the only one receiving this:
I’ve had 3 “marked as best answer” notifications this morning:They are all old threads: Last activity 2 months ago; Last activity 2 months ago; Last activity 1 month ago. So this looks like ST tidying-up abandoned threads - rather than the users returning to mark solutions? As previously mentioned, this is fine - but I think it should be made clear when ST has done this, rather than the OP.The old forum did, at least, include this in the notification; @Lina_DABASINSKAITE had it “on the radar” then as an improvement. PS:Just had a fourth: Again, an abandoned thread - last activity a month ago:
Hello,I no longer use my My ST account and would like to have it permanently deleted.I checked the account settings, but I could not find any option to delete the account myself.Could someone from ST support please help me delete my account?Thank you.
The language of this community is English. See reference.DON'T put the ENTIRE question in the title. Keep your title short and concise, you add additional information in the Description section. Need to insert code? Use this button in the editor to post it. Make sure you include a reference to the product concerned and the type of problem: 1. [Part Number] Always state the FULL Part Number of the product used. 2. [Environment] Describe the environment used as toolchain and hardware and state the version used. 3. [Schematics] If it is a custom board --> Share the schematics using “Attach file” option or inserting some image. 4. [Details] Describe the symptoms observed (examples: error messages, wrong behavior, screenshots of signals…). 5. [Expected behavior] If the question is related to performance then what is the target. 6. [How to reproduce] Detail the steps you have taken to get the behavior seen and clarify the set-up [Input, Output]. 7. [Occurrence] Is the problem systema
Nothing happened for ages; no animation of the ‘Create’ button.I gave up, did a select-all and copy-paste to a new post in a new tab. That one worked fine: Back at the original (still stuck “waiting”), I hit refresh, and it just went back to a blank form - all my edits lost and gone forever (if i hadn’t had the foresight to take a copy). See also:But this time there was no error message - it just hung in that “waiting” state. Again, this is why we need the forum to save drafts!
I typed up a reply, all text, and hit submit. Then a message pops up saying Something’s gone wrong and my entire message is erased. No indication as to what happened. I’m logged in normally, nothing special going on from my side. Guess I have to copy my message to clipboard before hitting send.
I have some stored links, which use the stcommunity.st.com third-level domain (note that it is not community but stcommunity), for example https://stcommunity.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/empty-check-mechanism-on-stm32/ta-p/49369These now display a message saying Khoros is down. As it’s an st.com domain, i.e. under ST’s control, these may be changed.A proper redirection would be nice.JW
