In terms of what?
I have worked only with the STM32CubeIDE with the F7 and it worked for me quite well.
Note: I don't use a lot of HAL stuff, and I never let the IDE update the HAL files that I use.

I recommend you using STM32CubeIDE, it is a free all-in-one multi-OS development tool, which is part of the STM32Cube software ecosystem.
To get started, I recommend you checking the Introduction to STM32CubeIDE - stm32mcu wiki and referring to the STM32CubeIDE user guide.
And for STM32F7 series applications, I advise you to check the STM32F7Cube_FW examples that will certainly help you.
