Nucleo446re Internal Adc

Hi Everyone

  • I am using Internal adc to sample 2 channels of adc using polling method
  • I am not able to reduce the number of samples per cycle by changing prescaler or Sampling time
  • I can only control the samples per cycle by giving software delay -->

Sorry, I don't do HAL.

> I am not able to reduce the number of samples per cycle by changing prescaler or Sampling time

Sampling time is the time the input stage (sample-and-hold capacitor) is conneced to the input voltage. Which is rather in the ns / us range.

> I can only control the samples per cycle by giving software delay

The ADC operation is not related to any HAL cycles or whatever.
You have 3 options to trigger the ADC.
The first is manually, i.e. by software. You can do this at your desired timing and schedule, as long as it no conversion is running yet.
The second option is continuous mode, with the sampling times and periods are configured according to the reference manual. I'm not aware how Cube HAL hs implemented this - I don't use it, as mentioned.
And the third option is a timer. Some timers can directly trigger an ADC conversion, without intermediary interrupts. Again, details in the reference manual.

All the above applies to either a single channel conversion, or a sequence of conversions. The latter usually implies DMA, because all channels share one result register.

I think the Cube HAL stuff is not the best starting point to learn about the peripherals and capabilities of a MCU.
