Hello,
I'm working with two F4 STM32 boards using the SPI communication.
The two boards are connect to each other using the SPI1 connectivity. The first board is configured as a Master and only send data. And the second is configured as a Slave and only receive data. The Baude Rate of the master is set to 656KBits/s. I disable the Hardware NSS Signal. And the rest of the configuration is left as default.
My problem with my code is that I only get data with one iteration. The callBack function is just called once. For information, I used the exact code using DMA, by just replacing HAL_SPI_Receive_IT() by HAL_SPI_Receive_DMA(), and it works.
This is the code I use for transfering the data
///////////////////////////////////////////////
Master Transmiter
///////////////////////////////////////////////
#define message_tx_size 4
uint8_t message_tx[message_tx_size] = "ABCD";
....
int main(void){
while (1){
HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi1, message_tx, message_tx_size, HAL_MAX_DELAY);
HAL_Delay(100);
}
}
and this is the code I use for receiving

This is not the callback, this is the SPI1 IRQ handler. The callback HAL_SPI_RxCpltCallback() is called elsewhere in HAL_SPI_IRQHandler() which I don't see in your code.
msgReceved needs to be set in the callback and checked/reset in your main for synchronization.

Duplicate or same issue?
\0 is added in the front of my message when using ... - STMicroelectronics Community
Seems like you had it working better than this before. What did you change?
Almost certainly what is happening is your master is sending data too fast and the slave has a data overrun (OVR flag), which stops it from receiving new data.
It is important to understand how SPI communication works and to ensure the slave is ready to receive data prior to the master sending data. You don't seem to have any synchronization mechanism to get the two on the same page, or any mechanism for the slave to signal to the master that it is ready to send data. You have a delay of 200 ms which is no doubt causing issues.

I have two different problems :
1) I can receive data from the transmiter when using DMA, but not with Interupt, using the exact code
2) When I receive data using DMA, the data is alterd, an '\0' added at the begening of my message. This happens after two itteration inside the loop. I resolved the problem by reinitialize the DMA and the SPI every iteration. But this solution seems not be good according to @BarryWhit
I have 200ms delay before resending the data on the transmiter side
