I tried with Motor Control(X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 & NUCLEO F302R8 with ST BLDC Kit DONGXING WEI A2304-1700 ) workbench with some default examples for FOC speed control but the result was not promising. No movement is happening to motor can u help me in same?

  1. I am test the motor in motor profiler with Jumper settings
    1. In NUCLEO F302R8 Jumper JP5 is in E5V : External voltage is planned to supply using a 12 V adapter to X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 board
    2. J7 DAC/REF in X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 is kept open
    3. J7 DAC/REF in X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 is kept open
    4. J5 and J6 in X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 is at 3Sh option
    5. J9 EN VIN in X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 is kept closed
    6. JP3 in X NUCLEO IMH 07M1 is kept closed

Other setting provided with Motor Profiler

1.      DC Connected 12 V adapter 1 A

2.      Pole pair 7

3.      Max Speed 12000 rpm

4.      Max Current o.96 APK

Its working and profiler shows following results

a.      Imax 0.9 Apk

b.      Rs 0.51 ohm

c.      Ls 0.03mH

d.      VBus 11.6V

e.      Ke 0.76 Vrms/kRPM

f.       Friction 189.76 nN m s

g.      Inertia nN-m-s2

h.      Max Speed 11970 Rpm

Hi @GSrik.2 and welcome to the ST Community.

Since your question is about STM32 MCSDK, I added the topic "STM32 Motor Control", user of this community are experts of ST Workbench and can help you.

From hardware point of view, in addition to your list, check the following points:

  • NUCLEO-F302R8 remove the jumper JP1
  • NUCLEO-F302R8 plug-in the two jumpers on CN2 (to program the STM32)
  • X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1 JP1 and JP2 closed

When you use the external power supply (applied to J1 of X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1) it is still possible to use the USB for communication, but it is mandatory to power supply the MCU board first using VIN (through CN7-24 pin) then connect the USB cable to the PC.

The following power sequence procedure must be respected:

  1. Connect the jumper between pin 2 and pin 3 of JP5
  2. Check that JP1 is removed
  3. Connect the external power source to VIN (connect the power supply to J1 of the X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1)
  4. Power on the external power supply 7 V< VIN < 12 V to VIN
  5. Check that LD3 is turned ON
  6. Connect the PC to USB connector CN1

If I understood the motor profiler working correctly, but then you cannot run the motor.

Which example are you using?

With your board HW configuration you would like to implement a sensored FOC, right?

Moreover, can you share more details about your tools and versions (do not forget to also indicate the compilation tools suite you use?
