Bought a EVALKIT-ROBOT-1 with driver STSPIN32 and Maxon servo motor . I have no idea what else I need to make motor work. Motor Profiler dont list this driver. It connects with modbus to pc. Can I just type c++ code and make it work?

Hi @JBurg.2 welcome to the ST Community.

To start you could read the dedicated user manual UM2653 - Getting started with the EVALKIT-ROBOT-1

To make the kit operative you need:

  • A 36 V / 120 W DC power supply
  • An RS485 2-wire serial port (optionally a USB-RS485 converter cables for a simple connection with PC)
  • A communication software based on MODBUS protocol.

Let me know if you managed to run the motor.

Hi, I have connected STS to pc via RS485-usb cable and supplied 36V. Motor moves to zero position. Now what communication software should I use ? Something from ST ?

Hi @JBurg.2

ST does not offer similar tool, you can find online some free communication software based on MODBUS protocol (e.g. QModBus, others are available).

Let me know if everything works.
