On the STM32F0Discovery, there's both an ST-Link chip and the main STM32F051R8T6 MCU.
Is it possible to power up and use the STM32F051R8T6 without also bringing up the ST-Link?
If so, how?
Thanks in advance.

Power the VDD side of the JP2 jumper. Remove the JP2 jumper. Remove the CN1 CN2 jumpers.
Based on the schematic, seems like that should work.

Thanks. One question. CN1 is the USB socket. Are you saying that must be desoldered?

Sorry, I meant CN2. The jumpers that connect SWDIO/SWCLK to the ST-Link.

Thought so, thanks again. I'll give that a go.

Well, as far as I can tell, this doesn't seem to work. With JP2 and both CN2 jumpers off, and voltage connected via VDD, I'm seeing some current draw but the STM32F051R8T6 doesn't seem to be working. Any other thoughts?
