st motor control work bench have function for undrestand short circuit on otput

any one know when make project with st motor control have function protect short circuit

start put low voltage and check current if unormal high undrestand out put is short and shot down pwm output

Hello,

It will depend on your configuration, but, yes, we manage hardware over current.

It means that when an overcurrent is detected, the PWM timer is put in safe state by hardware.

Of course it will depend on your hardware capabilities.

Do not hesitate to look at ST power board schematics (mainly break input signal) . They are available on st.com.

I know st have break pin for shut down I can connect for over current detect also can connect dac for set point over current

in high voltage 380v or above best way is on each motor start check current out in low voltage if this current too high understand output is short circuit

in this way never igbt is damage

from motor model we know current on 20% output voltage if current around 2 time more we know have short circuit

when pwm out put achieve 20% check current output each phase if no problem voltage go up to max if not shot down pwm out put send error short circuit

I hope any one can help to me how add this function
