It's okay to use devices based on GigaDevice clones?

my post is more formal than technical. Is it okay to use products that are based on GigaDevice microcontrollers? Is this company just competition, or does it violate ST patents and products with these chips should not be supported? What is ST's position on this matter?

I mean for example budget 3D printers, or HAM radios and other devices based on GD32 MCUs

Confirmed:
Creality Ender 3 V3 KE
Quansheng UV-K5
YAESU FT-4XE(well-known and reputable brand!)
Baofeng DM-1701

personally, when designing professionally, I use ST systems, but I don't want to support dishonest practices by using ready-made equipment. And I can't design everything I use from scratch.
