Hello,I purchased a soldering crystal for X3 according to the BOM list, but it seems that the X4 on the board is the same product.Where is the X4 used?I checked UM2407 User Manual and STM32H742xI/G, STM32H743xI/G datasheets, but couldn't find it. Plus, Is it correct that the MCO (default) from STLINK-V3E uses the X1 source? Thank you.

Hi,I am trying to use the FSM of the ISM330DHCX to check multiple decision tree outputs from the MLC.I want to be able to change the Decision Tree value in the CHKDT condition within the program flow, as I want to be checking multiple decision trees and outputs in the same FSM.From the documentation, I understand that to do this, I need to use the SETP command to change the value of the DECTREE Byte. However, I cannot seem to find the right configuration for the SETP command to be able to change the expected Dec. Tree value.Could you please point me in the right direction?Specifically, what State Machine Address should I be selecting, and what value should I be writing to it, to change the Decision Tree and Decision Tree result in the CHKDT condition? Thanks in advance.

Hi,I want to run an application for a week. This video says the battery life is 10 hours:https://youtu.be/gFkIcrUkP5w?t=452s Question:Can I use an external power supply like this and set it to 5v:https://www.adafruit.com/product/4880 Connect it's barrel jack to this barrel jack to USB C adapter:https://www.adafruit.com/product/4536 and plug it into the USB C port on the SensorTile.box Pro?Thanks,Bill

Hi, I'm using  multi channels ADC3 of "STM32H735ZGT6" (3channels) I want to use these channels in parallel, but I've only found a way to convert in order in the Datasheet. Can I run all the ADC3's channels at once in parallel? If that is the case, can I get a reference manual or some advice? If you want to see my CUBEMX or Code, Please tell me. Thank you.

hello everyone i am using stm32h7 MCU, i want averaged ADC data using  hardware over sampling. how can get this.

I am struggling to get USB CDC working. I am very far down a rabbit hole and I'm completely stuck.I am using HAL libraries for USB_OTG_HS on the STM32F746ZGT6, with a 16MHz HSE.I am running in bus powered mode, VBUS detect disabled, and I have hardwired an external D+ pullup, because I have not been able to get the internal pullup to activate. I know the hardwired pullup is not recommended, but I don't think that is what is causing my problems. My IOC file is attached. When I connect the device to my computer, windows reports "device descriptor request failed" in device manager. I have determined the following sequence of events is occurring:1. Connect STM32 to computer (powers on STM32)2. USB suspend interrupt (USBSUSP)3. USB wakeup interrupt (WKUPINT)4. USB reset interrupt (USBRST)5. Enumeration done interrupt (ENUMDNE)6. RX fill level interrupt (RXFLVL), packet status == STS_SETUP_UPDT7. RX fill level interrupt (RXFLVL), packet status == STS_SETUP_UPDT8. RX fill level interrupt

Hello! Recently I got into STM programming for my internship and I cannot figure out register level programming yet, I have this piece of code ```RCC->AHB1ENR |= RCC_AHB1ENR_GPIOAEN | RCC_APB1ENR_TIM2EN;GPIOA->MODER |=GPIO_MODER_MODE5_1 | GPIO_MODER_MODE5_0;TIM2->CCER|=TIM_CCER_CC1E;TIM2->CR1 |=TIM_CR1_ARPE;TIM2->CCMR1 |=TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_1|TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_1|TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_0|TIM_CCMR1_OC1PE;TIM2->PSC=42; //trivialTIM2->ARR=1000; //trivial valuesTIM2->CCR1=250; //trivialTIM2->EGR |=TIM_EGR_UG;TIM2->CR1 |=TIM_CR1_CEN;/* USER CODE END 2 *//* Infinite loop *//* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */while (1){/* USER CODE END WHILE *//* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */}/* USER CODE END 3 */}```Which in theory, to me, looks like it should work, however there are things I still do not fully understand, for example: Here I wanted to use Tim2 on channel 1 because I can use that on my PA5 pin which is LED2 on my Nucleo f401RE board, and I wanted to produce a PWM signal on it, however, it ju

Hello,I am experiencing the following problem. When I setup an ADC with DMA for 5 channels, occasionally I get lower readings than the expected ones. It also happens in some of our hardware of our production, but others perform ok. We have inspected the components and everything seems identical. We have measured the reference voltage and all the expected voltages on ADC input pins (some are fixed and known) and all looking good too. On the other hand, when I sample only one ADC channel in polling mode, I do not get this problem, the voltages read as expected. Here is the ADC configuration with DMA (source code attached too):

We use ITM, locally configured by the embedded code at startup, for our trace output.  We have code for this that works with STM32F4 (see below), as advised by Segger; this advice doesn't seem to have changed since we adopted it. Using the same code with STM32U5 we end up in a hard fault after a few calls to ITM_SendChar().  What do we need to add to this code for the STM32U5 case?  I have seen a post on this topic here but that person did not succeed, hence asking this narrower question.Working ITM set-up code for STM32F4 (where U_CFG_HW_SWO_CLOCK_HZ is 125000 to guarantee reliability):uint32_t stimulusRegs;// Enable access to SWO registersDEMCR |= (1 << 24);ITM_LSR = 0xC5ACCE55;// Initially disable ITM and stimulus port// To make sure that nothing is transferred via SWO// when changing the SWO prescaler etc.stimulusRegs = ITM_ENA;stimulusRegs &= ~(1 << 0); // Disable stimulus port 0ITM_ENA = stimulusRegs;ITM_TCR = 0; // Disable ITM// Initialize SWO

Hello  I have been using an STLink v3 pod successfully for several months but suddenly it stopped working.  The green light is lit and the red one flashes slowly.  I cannot see it in Device Manager and there are no Unknown Devices.  There is no chime when I plug it in.  I also don't see the Virtual Com Port in Device Manager or the drive in My Computer that usually comes up.   Cube IDE reports "No ST-LINK detected!  Please connect ST-LINK and restart the debug session" Windows does not report any malfunctions or driver failures. I tried  the following things and all of them get the same blinking lights.--rebooting my machine  (Windows 10)--upgrading CubeIDE 1.15.0-- running installer for ST Link driver: https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stsw-link009.html-- upgrading LibUSB: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-boards-and-hardware/no-st-link-detected-only-in-cubeide/m-p/220718--different cable and usb port  (p

Hi community,I wrote the following functionUINT PrintOut(const char* format, ...) { va_list args; va_start(args, format); char buffer[1024] = { 0 }; vsprintf(buffer, format, args); va_end(args); return PrintString(buffer); }No problems at compiling time, but at runtime the execution falls in HardFault.Any suggestion?

Hi everybody,I am using STM32F042G6 MCU for an automotive project and since It doesn't have mush FLASH (32kB) I am trying to reduce code size as much as possible.Lookign at the linker file generated by STM32CubeMX, I see that instructions are aligned to 4 bytes. Since M0 architecture uses Thumb instruction set which is 16 bit wide, I was wondering wether instructions can be aligned to 2 bytes, saving some flash. Since I am not very experienced in this area of MCU I would like to know from you if this is correct or if I am missing something. I will link part of the linker script. I definitely understand why isr_vector is aligned to 4 bytes but I quite don't why .text is.Thank you in advence!  SECTIONS{/* The startup code into "FLASH" Rom type memory */.isr_vector :{. = ALIGN(4);KEEP(*(.isr_vector)) /* Startup code */. = ALIGN(4);} >FLASH /* The program code and other data into "FLASH" Rom type memory */.text :{. = ALIGN(4);*(.text) /* .text sections (code) */*(.text*)

Is there a way to reset the counter and the prescaler via a hard event or something when an input capture happens?I use timer 1 to have a hall interface and to drive timer 8. But there are some fluctuations, because the interrupt (where i reset counter and prescaler) is not fired at the exact time as the input capture happens.

Hi,I am trying to calculate the MTBF (mean time between failures) value for the ASM330LHHTR module. Please suggest any techniques for the same. I am currently using the Qjc (Junction to Case Thermal Resistance) and Pd (Power Dissipation) values to calculate the same. Please provide the Qjc value for ASM330LHHTR at 35 degrees Celsius or suggest another appropriate method to calculate the MTBF value for the same. Thanks,OF

hi,The datasheet says "In this mode, the TCR flag is set when the number of bytes programmed in NBYTES is transferred"Does this mean that the flag will be set when the data is transferred from TXDR to shift register, Or, the flag will be only set if there is an ack from the slave after the data in the TXDR is sent ?   /* Send Memory Address */ hi2c->Instance->TXDR = I2C_MEM_ADD_LSB(MemAddress); I get a timeout randomly here in function I2C_RequestMemoryWrite(). Please note that no ErrorCode is set other than HAL_I2C_ERROR_TIMEOUT.  /* Wait until TCR flag is set */ if (I2C_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout(hi2c, I2C_FLAG_TCR, RESET, Timeout, Tickstart) != HAL_OK) { Why does it take more than 25ms (default timeout) for a single byte to be transferred ?  PS It does work if increase the timeout.

I am currently working with a STM32G431RB and X-Nucleo-IHM08M1 and a motor with Halls. I want to drive 2 motors independently with the control board. Workbench seems to allow for 2 motors with FOC but not with the STM32G431RB.In fact, there appears to be no combination of control boards and power boards which allow me to generate a project from Workbench 6.2.1 for 2 motors with FOC. Could someone please give me some advice on how to do thisThanks

In this thread:2nd post by @andy_long  (between my 1st and 2nd post) is missing. Note, that in my 2nd post I am quoting from that missing post (> This is only reproducible if it is run continuously for an hour. and > Meanwhile, could you please answer the first part of the question ?)I don't remember seing post by @Luke_abc there (whatever's the reason it's empty now), but I may have missed that one.I don't like posts and whole threads disappearing, at all.Is this misguided work of moderators? Or are these the fist signs of the Khoros shebang starting to go down?JW

Hi, I'm using an STM32L053R6Tx chipI've implemented at TMR2_interrupt hander it gets triggered on ARR overflow and CC1FI'm using the interrupt to trigger a GPIO output to work like a PWM the- GPIO is high when CNT is less than CCR1- GPIO is low when CNT is greater than CCR1(I couldn't use the PWM hardware pin because its not wired to the correct pin on the circuit board hence i have to do it manually)the Timer 2 frequency with ARR = 200 is approx. 22khzThe code works as expected i.e. when CCR1 value triggers before the interrupt is completed e.g. for CCR1 values between 1-5 i.e. same PWM size for any value between 1-5. I expect this case. PWM is capped at approx. 2% (due to time it takes to execute the interrupt)For CCR1 value > 10 up to 200 the GPIO works normally as expected e.g. isCCR1 = 50 the PWM is 25% CCR1 = 100 give 50% PWMCCR1 = 200 give 100% PWM The problem I have is when I set CCR1 values between 6-8 I get 100% PWM output. Also note this only happens when I set t

Hello,I've been doing a small project lately and ran into a problem in one part. I have two STM32 microcontrollers and I want to communicate both of them with eachother over UART. One of them is designed to send a fixed array of 6 charactersuint8_t k[6]={3,7,9,12,16,19};The other microcontroller is simply to receive it. When I send a single byte over the UART it all works without a problem. When I want to send the whole array it only fills the first element. This first element is filled with random numbers from this sent array.I know for sure there is no problem on the sending side. I checked it on an oscilloscope. The problem lies in the receiving side.I suspect that the problem lies in the timing, but I don't know how to fix itIn both microcontrollers the baud rate is the same – 9600. The data frame is also the same 8N1. RX device code /* Private user code ---------------------------------------------------------*//* USER CODE BEGIN 0 */uint8_t buff[6];/* USER CODE END 0 */&

Hello, I would like to interface STM32U5G9 with SD Card. Looking at SensorTileBox.Pro schematic, I see that an SD Card Driver (st6g3244mebjr) is placed in the middle. What is the added value in using it? Thank you

Hello, My STM32F7 crash after Reinit the UART : - I have an UART for my RS232, and I can communicate to 2 devices by this RS232. So the customers choose on which device he want to send data, then I configure internals variables and the UART baudrate and flow control. - So I use the next fonction to reinit my UART : void RS232_Link_USART1_UART_ReInit(uint32_t BaudRate, uint32_t FlowCtrl) { HAL_UART_Abort_IT(&huart1); HAL_UART_DeInit(&huart1); huart1.Init.BaudRate = BaudRate; huart1.Init.HwFlowCtl = FlowCtrl; if (HAL_UART_Init(&huart1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } uint8_t buff; if (HAL_UART_Receive_IT(&huart1, &buff, 1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } }   - This code works for 1 device but not for the other device. The thing that change is that the device which occure the crash send datas back after a transmit but we don't treat them. If I comment the part "HAL_UART_Receive_IT" it works, but I want to resolve the p

Hi,I tried to import the BLE Heart rate example from the Firmware Package (1.18.0), direct importing by the STM extension in VSCode (Cube IDE directory inside the project) seems to be not possible. If I choose 'Create a new appl. project' in the extension, open Ble_HeartRate.ioc in the project folder and change the project output to STM CubeIDE and generate the files, it is not compilable. Probably importing in Eclipse is more successful, but is there maybe a way to do it in VSCode? Greetings,Rémy Hurx
