Posted on June 25, 2018 at 17:44We are testing SBSFU on a 32L476_nucleo board, using the 2-image example project with IAR EWARM.We can reliably build and update the application in the way suggested. We would like the roll-back feature to work properly - we have been introducing deliberate bugs which cause application watch-dogs, and after 3 of these, SBSFU marks the downloaded application as BAD.  So far, so good. However, SBSFU refuses to roll back to the application in the other image slot because the reported version is the same as the new (buggy) application (in this case, 1). From the readme file in the application section of the project:3. Pressing 3 allows to call user defined services running in Secure Engine. As an example, SE_APP_GetActiveFwInfo service is called in order to display the firmware informationlocated in the protected area such as version and size. What is the correct way to define the application firmware version so that the secure engine can read it and

Posted on July 10, 2018 at 13:42Hi all,I am working on STM32F746G - DISCO. I have started working with STM32 just recently, sorry if this is a silly question. I need to use 1 timer to get PWM output from one of its channels, and generate time based interrupts from another channel. I have configured channel 1 for the PWM. The timer clock is 100MHz. ARR is set to (50000 - 1) and PSC is set to (2 - 1). Therefore I have achieved 1KHz PWM output of which duty cycle (CCR1) varies as needed. This part is perfectly fine. I have tried to configure channel 2 to generate time-based interrupts, which should vary in the range, let's say 1ms or less (for now). The output of the prescaler in this case is 50MHz, which means an interrupt should be generated every 50K clock ticks for 1ms delay. The timer is in the upcounting mode, the CNT counts up to ARR and then restarts from 0.  So the max value CCR2 can get is ARR (50000 - 1), and the maximum possible duration between two timer

Posted on July 05, 2018 at 10:42Greetings everyone,   I encountered a problem with CAN bus during individual work with STM microcontrollers. First of all I would like to give you some information on what I use.-I am using a microcontroller STM32f091CCTx-I use CubeMx software.   What I want to do is to view the CAN data from the CAN output of my card with PCAN Viewer. However, I can not get a result despite my long efforts and I open this post to discuss its reasons. First I want to share my CubeMx settings.I set the PB8 and PB9 outputs to Can Rx and Can Tx in the microcontroller schematic.I have chosen HSE crystal in the RCC as a clock because I have always seen it in similar cases. When I look at the clock settings, I learned that FCLK is used for the CAN bit rate setting. I set the clock rate to be 36Mhz according to the settings in the prescalar table because the bit rate I want to work is 500kbit/sec.To adjust the CAN settings, I made the Prescaler sett

They are running exactly the same code.  It is really boring and time consuming to flash them one by one...I would like to know if there is a standard way to program three STM32H7 in one shot with the same code ?Thanks for your help!#programming #stm32h7

Posted on June 21, 2018 at 10:31Hi All,Recently, I tried to read temperature sensor from ADC. Posted on June 19, 2018 at 18:13Looking to use ST NFC reader module for reading the tags and the reader must be able to send an unmodulated signal (carrier only at 13.56MHz). I also need to able to see the demodulated signal at one of the pins on the evaluation module. Is there any module that is available ? I am currently using EVAL-ST95HF but unfortunately not able to see the demodulated signal anywhere on the board. Any input on this is much appreciated.

Posted on June 25, 2018 at 00:29Hi. I am Reading a few APDU Commands from a card using the ST25R3911B and the STM32F401.I am using the X-CUBE-NFC5 software expansion. Before all my commands are completed, i get a 'ERR_NOMEM' error. I am clearing the (rfalIsoDepApduBufFormat)  txBuf and (rfalIsoDepApduBufFormat)  rxBuf every time before I run the rfalIsoDepStartApduTransceive(*par); command... Is there anything I should also clear to prevent the Out of Memory error? I have also tried to add delays between my APDU Commands to see if it would help.#nfc05 #x-cube-nfc5 #st25r3911b

Posted on July 09, 2018 at 21:26 I've been experimenting with writing to an external https://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/93LC46B using SPI and I've had mixed success. The data does get shifted out but in an opposite manner. The EEPROM requires a start bit and then an opcode which is essentially a 2-bit code for read, write and erase. Essentially the start bit and the opcode are combined into one byte. I'm creating a 32-bit unsigned int and then bit-shifting the values into it. When I transmit these I see that the actual data is being seen first and then the SB+opcode and then the memory address. How do I reverse this to see the opcode first then the memory address and then the actual data. As seen in the image below, the data is BCDE, SB+opcode is 07 and the memory address is 3F. The correct sequence should be 07, 3F and then BCDE (I think!). Here is the code: uint8_t mem_addr = 0x3F; uint16_t data = 0xBCDE; uint32_t write_package = (ERASE << 24 | mem_addr <<

Posted on July 09, 2018 at 09:45Hello,I have stm32F105RB with 128KB flash and 64KB sram. But I qury the related document, the flash organization is as below which total flash size is 256KB. Are there any other documents to introduce the 128KB flash of stm32F105RB? My undestanding of  stm32F105RB with 128KB flash address is 0x08000000-?0x0801FFFF,0x08020000-0x01FFFAFFF is reserved. Posted on July 02, 2018 at 11:04 Hi I'm playing around with an ST25DV_Discovery_ANT_C6 and an ST25R3911B-DISCO development board to test the energy harvesting features. One result of my tests yields, that the output voltage V_EH is limitted to approx. 3.4V eventhough I can't find any explenation therefore in any application note or datasheet. R = 10kOhm In the datasheet of the ST25DVxxx is written, that the voltage V_EH is NOT regulated. If that's true, I'm not able to understand my measurements. Do you have any explenation for this behavior? Thanks and best regards Marco energy-harvesting st25dv64k st25r3911b-disco

Posted on July 06, 2018 at 16:23Hi, guys!Trying to connect the MCP4725 DAC to my STM32F103RB by following this tutorial:https://learn.adafruit.com/mcp4725-12-bit-dac-tutorial/ Sadly I'm getting no response. I've tried with a regular Arduino UNO, where everything works as it should. Also tried running a i2c scanner code, which gave no results. With the Arduino the correct address is 0x60.So do anybody know what I can do differently to get this working? Should the wiring be any different? What upload settings should I use?Best regards,Peter#i2c #f103 #arduino

Posted on July 09, 2018 at 02:16Hi there, we are using MDK-ARM to develop an application on our STM32F7 which drives a display, and we would like to present a relatively sophisticated UI, which will included some compile-time static images.  We are learning as we go here, and I tried to be clever and created a desktop tool into which we can drop a picture, and it would generate a C function to set a range of RAM to hard-coded pixel data to represent the picture, which I'd call on initialization.  When I wanted to show this image I would just direct the LTDC layer to the address this picture was written.  This was going well until I got to the first of several 400x400 images, which generated a 160,000 line function and crashed the compiler. So, I'm done being clever and thought I'd ask the pros: what's the Right way to do this?  What's the best way to weave a large chunk of binary data to be pre-loaded into a known memory location when your application initializes?(

Posted on July 02, 2018 at 15:27Hello, I have 2 CAN nodes ( both are nucleo f446re boards) and both connected to separate transceivers . I am exploring CAN_Networking ( NORMAL MODE) given in the ST example .even if i Tx only one time, the Transmitter sending continuous same messages, and receiver node continuously getting Rx interrupt . i have connected CANH ( NODE 1 ) ---> CANH(NODE2) , CANL(NODE 1) ---> CANL(NODE 2 ) using jumper wires. also in the documentation it is mentioned that bus has to be terminated with 120ohm resistor which i have not used. is that causing any issues. ? can anyone please help me understand the problem ?Thank you#stm32-discovery

Posted on June 30, 2018 at 04:28Hello (I am new to ST and SPC5Studio)I just used the SPC5Studio Application Wizard to import the SPC56ELxx_RLA ADC Test Application for DiscoveryPlus and when I tried to generate it it showed the following error:Error: Cannot load configuration file 'L/SPC56ELxx_RLA ADC Test Application for DiscoveryPlus/configuration.xml':/SPC5-Config/application/instances/instance[7]/pit_settings/channel_0/frequency: Required Field.I tried repeating the process with the SPC56ELxx_RLA CAN Test Application for DiscoveryPlus with similar results. I can see a small 'x' in front of the configuration.xml file in the project explorer in both cases.I really appreciate if someone could help me with this.Thanks!#cannot-load-configuration-file

Posted on June 30, 2018 at 23:23Hello,I have a custom PCB with a STM32F042F4P6.The STM32 keeps resetting at a rate of 2.5 Hz. I measured this with a scope on the NRST pin. After a long search i found out that the IWDGRSTF flag is set after each reset. This is strange, because i never enabled the IWDG or WWDG in CubeMX v4.23. I also do not see anything about a set up of a watchdog in the generated code. Further, after i erase the chip in ST-Link utility, the STM32 is still resetting (at a constant rate of >600hz).NRST pin is pulled up on the PCB with an 43k ohm resistor.Attached a screenshot of the IWDG and the CSR register. What I tried so far: I Striped down my PCB; I removed the external oscillator and other IC's.I soldered a brand new STM32 on my PCB (couple of times)In CubeMX i made the most basic configuration possible.I swapped the pull up resistor for a 4.7k and 10k resistor. But still the STM32 keeps resetting..Is there something i overlooked? Many thanks,Thomas#clock #pll

Posted on July 08, 2018 at 12:14Hi,As we know peripherals can have callback functions such as the below one for the PWM:void HAL_TIM_PWM_PulseFinishedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) {}This is something like a general callback, But if we have several enabled PWMs or ADCs or similar, then how these could be differentiated by the callback functions to be fired just by the one we like, or for the time we like to have several callbacks, one for each. is that possible?

Posted on July 07, 2018 at 14:54Hi,I was previously working on an stm32f429 MCU and successfully jumped to internal SRAM using:__HAL_SYSCFG_REMAPMEMORY_SRAM();I've ported my code to a new STM32F777 system and have realized the above function does not exist. Apparently the SYSCFG register does not have an option for remapping to internal SRAM.How can I remap to interanl SRAM in STM32f7 MCUs? Do I have to program the BOOT_ADD0 & 1 registers and perform a soft reset?

Posted on February 13, 2017 at 15:59What does the TEMP_COMP bit in CTRL_REG1_M of the magnetometer do?  Do the offsets need to be programmed for it to work?We are seeing up to 10 degree heading variations when moving the temperature from 10C to 30C, and need to find a way to correct for it.

Posted on January 08, 2018 at 12:53Dear All,about this device I'm try to better understand the sensitivity parameters, from the datasheet, using the device at ±2.0g (FS bit set to 000) we must have a Sensitivity of 0.06 mg/digit, hence the number of digit should be: ±2.0/(0.06*10^-3)=±33333.3 practically I suppose ± 15 bit, I'm right? From this I try to understand the Terminology at the device datasheet page 17/58:'Sensitivity describes the gain of the sensor and can be determined, for example, byapplying 1 g acceleration to it. As the sensor can measure DC accelerations this can bedone easily by pointing the axis of interest towards the center of the Earth, noting the outputvalue, rotating the sensor by 180 degrees (pointing to the sky) and noting the output valueagain. By doing so, ±1 g acceleration is applied to the sensor. Subtracting the larger outputvalue from the smaller one, and dividing the result by 2, leads to the actual sensitivity of thesensor. This value changes very
