I'm completely baffled as to how to make DMA and sleep mode work together on an STM32F0. I presume though that the issue is not family specific. It appears when the CPU enters sleep mode via the WFI instruction, DMA stops working. If a busy loop is used instead of WFI, everything works as it should. The following is a piece of code that illustrates the problem. It uses USART1_TX on pin B6 for logging. TIM1_CH1 output is on pin A8.#include <stdio.h> #include <errno.h> #include <libopencm3/cm3/scb.h> #include <libopencm3/cm3/nvic.h> #include <libopencm3/stm32/rcc.h> #include <libopencm3/stm32/gpio.h> #include <libopencm3/stm32/timer.h> #include <libopencm3/stm32/dma.h> #include <libopencm3/stm32/usart.h>   int _write(int fd, char *buf, int len); int _write(int fd, char *buf, int len) { // STDOUT -> USART1_TX (blocking) if (fd != 1) { errno = EIO; return -1; } for (int i = 0; i < len; ++i) usart_send_blocking(USART1, b

Hello everyone, I want to ask how to open a project in stm32cube IDE.To be specific, I was given a project organized as the picture below. The name of the big folder is Project_Comm.While the main code is in Core folder, the linker file and the project file of STM32CubeIDE is in STM32CubeIDE folder. In this case, how can I open the project with the main code and the Linker file in the Project Explorer? What I did so far were:I tried to open the project by the .project and .cproject file from the folder STM32CubeIDE. It only opened the main code in Core folder (the linker file was not there) and I could not build the project.I imported the project by File>Import>Import ac6 System Workbench for STM32 Project. Then I chose the directory containing all of the Folder in the picture above and there were 2 folders: Project_Comm, and Project_Comm./STM32CubeIDE. I chose both of them, each of them but nothing worked. When I chose only the Project_Comm, nothing was imported.Kind regards, Huy

I have 36 leds on my board. I will connect dimmer my board. How can i adjust leds brightness with dimmer? Because i need to manage 36 output pins. How can i do it?

I've stm32H750B-DK discovery board and when debugging I get this error at first debugging attempt , I then press the reset button several times before the download is successful. (pressing the reset button is not guaranteed to solve the problem, I still get the error in this case). Is this a sign of a bigger problem HW or SW?

hi! i am using timer interrup tim3 in stm32f030k6t6, i want configure diferent timer update for 5ms, i am using the ecuation: tout=(prescaler*preload)/(clock_frecuency). other ecuation for preload is : preload=(tout*clock_frecuency)/(prescaler). now for 5ms(0,005s) the preload is: preload=(0.005*48*1000000)/100 , preload=2400, prescaler=100, clock_frecuency= 48Mhz. the timer is configurate with value, the code is:/* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2022 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE file comes with this software, it is provided AS-IS. * *********************************************

Hi,not sure if this is an question regarding ST or Segger, but i will start here:Problem:New Project (my example uses the Nucleo-H723ZG board) with SEGGER_I-CUBE-embOS software package included (like from the wiki.segger.com under Using_I-CUBE-embOS_with_STM32CubeMX )This works fine, but if I enable the Flag "Generate peripherial initalization as pair of '.c/.h' files" in the "Project_Manager/Code_Generator/Generated_Files", the generated code does not include anymore the "OS_Task_Create"-Functions, OS_Stacks and more...Is this a unkown feature? Or can someone help me out? Thanks for your help & best regardsMichael

I'm trying to get into UART interrupt. It used to be copying the 'weak' function declaration and declare our own in main such as:main() { .... void HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart) {     // usr code here   } .... }  However, this apparently became legacy. Now I get the following:"stm32h7xx_it.c""stm32h7xx_it.c"   **   * @brief This function handles USART3 global interrupt.   */   void USART3_IRQHandler(void)   {   /* USER CODE BEGIN USART3_IRQn 0 */       /* USER CODE END USART3_IRQn 0 */   HAL_UART_IRQHandler(&huart3);   /* USER CODE BEGIN USART3_IRQn 1 */       /* USER CODE END USART3_IRQn 1 */   }  Please advise an App Note describing how we handle the interrupt the same way we used to do.

I am new to TouchGFX and STM32 programming, so I apologize if any obvious details are missed. I am attempting to run Tutorial 2 in the TouchGFX tutorial (Because I'm a new member, I cannot add the link, but it's the TouchGFX Version 4 19 tutorial guide, Tutorial 2)I have successfully run up to "Step 4: Adding Code."I completed up to the step where it asks you to create the "buttonDown" interaction on the TouchGFX Designer (I'm running on 4 19 1).I generate the code without issue, then it asks me to open MainViewBase.hpp (I was trying several screens, so mine is called Screen4ViewBase.hpp). When I add the recommended code to display the "buttonUpClicked" and "buttonDownClicked" text pop up, I hit the "Run Simulation" button on the TouchGFX Designer and the code that I wrote disappears, so the text obviously does not appear. Am I doing something wrong?

We created the project for the M4 with CubeMX. We use FreeRTOS with CMSIS_V2 and OpenAMP as Middleware. We assigned TIM1, TIM2 and TIM3 to the M4 and use TIM1 as SYS Timebase Source. The program runs fine if started with fw_cortex_m4.sh or with the SW4STM32 menu "Run As".But if we try to debug with "Debug As", osKernelStart returns osErrorISR in both Engineering and Production mode. But osKernelStart is in the main function. Also if we create a Mutex it returns NULL. Both functions "fail" on IS_IRQ.This is a very similar question. From there i used the code to read the IPSR, it is already 41 at the beginning of the main function. If i don't initialize TIM1 so that no interrupts from TIM1 can occur IPSR is 14 at the start of main.If i apply the "patch" from this question IPSR is 0 but the creation of RPMsg channels with VIRT_UART_Init fails with:[ 3044.562749] virtio_rpmsg_bus virtio0: creating channel rpmsg-tty-channel addr 0x0 [ 3044.568797] virtio_rpmsg_bus virtio0: channel rpmsg-tty-ch

Any ideas why values would be non linear in the approximately the upper 1 to 2 bits?For the setup below, it is linear to between -17000 to +14000. Doubling the + output only yields around +18000. These are raw values. This really acts like an overflow somewhere it seems to me. Test input is DC, in this case using an AMC3336 TI modulator.What am I missing here?Setup:static void MX_DFSDM1_Init(void) {   /* USER CODE BEGIN DFSDM1_Init 0 */   /* USER CODE END DFSDM1_Init 0 */   /* USER CODE BEGIN DFSDM1_Init 1 */   /* USER CODE END DFSDM1_Init 1 */ hdfsdm1_filter0.Instance = DFSDM1_Filter0; hdfsdm1_filter0.Init.RegularParam.Trigger = DFSDM_FILTER_SW_TRIGGER; hdfsdm1_filter0.Init.RegularParam.FastMode = DISABLE; hdfsdm1_filter0.Init.RegularParam.DmaMode = DISABLE; hdfsdm1_filter0.Init.FilterParam.SincOrder = DFSDM_FILTER_SINC3_ORDER; hdfsdm1_filter0.Init.FilterParam.Oversampling = 256; hdfsdm1_filter0.Init.FilterParam.IntOversampling = 4; if (HAL_DFSDM_Filter

I have the M4 core using a UART core to send and receive data using DMA. This works just fine but over time after 30-60min the core crashes/locks up and reinitializing the UART channel does not help at all it actually crashes the sytem. Under normal operation the reinitialization sequence works properly. The only thing I can get debug-wise is the gState which shows up as 0x21, and the state never changes after the lock-up. Reloading the m4 firmware from a7 side does not help and the UART core is broken until I do a system reboot.Under normal operation, I do get the UART error callback triggered and the error code is 0x10, but the tx and rx continue to work without any action required. Is there any sequence for resetting the UART physical core to recover without a reboot? Are there any known reasons why the UART core would lock up after extended use?

I am trying to configure a DMA stream to capture the RX channel of a UART core on the m4, however, I get very undesirable behaviour.I am trying to set up a circular rx buffer that is of size 10 since the data coming back is of multiples of 5. Unfortunately, I don't get the trigger at half full for many seconds, and when I finally deinit the uart and DMA and abort any tx or rx the half transfer complete callback finally comes. If I change the dma receive size to 8 I get the trigger at half full (4), so is there a limitation or alignment problem?static void MX_USART3_UART_Init(void) {   /* USER CODE BEGIN USART3_Init 0 */   /* USER CODE END USART3_Init 0 */   /* USER CODE BEGIN USART3_Init 1 */   /* USER CODE END USART3_Init 1 */ huart3.Instance = USART3; huart3.Init.BaudRate = 2500000; huart3.Init.WordLength = UART_WORDLENGTH_9B; huart3.Init.StopBits = UART_STOPBITS_1; huart3.Init.Parity = UART_PARITY_NONE; huart3.Init.Mode = UART_MODE_TX_RX; huart3.Init.Hw

Hi. I'm developing with custom board which has a custom QSPI (EN25QX128A - 16Mbytes flash), so I need to make an external loader used by STM32CubeProgrammer.First I wrote a code that interacts with QSPI and it works fine.So I changed this code to fullfill the external loader specification.Init() as an entry pointLinker configuration No diagnostics on unused functionsBut when I connect the target board by clicking "Connect" in STM32CubeProgrammer, I checked that "Init()" is called but SystemClock_Cofnig() fails.I tried to change clock-setting in various ways, but still get stuck in Error_Handler.What am I missing working with External loader? Please help me to get out of this trap.Thanks.

I've changed the ownership of the /usr/lib/python3.8 file from root to <myname> but did not solved the problem. I am trying to implement an USB logger. I have initially started with the F769 Discovery Board what worked fine using the USB_HS implementation. Because my final hardware does use USB_FS and I do not own an F769 Eval Board I tried the FatFs_USBDisk example for the 767 Nucleo board what sows the behavior above. The Nucleoboard is unmodified, SB 125, 127, 132, 133, !184, 185 set as stated in UM1974. UsbStick and MicroAdapter Tested in HS Example. Example is based on V1.17.0

The STM32F3DISCOVERY board's main perk are the MEMS gyro and MEMS accelerometer/magnetometer combo. In different revisions of the board, these chips were changed (whatever was the reason). This of course has impact on working of software, including examples. However, while UM1570 rev. 6 mentions, in chapters ST MEMS E-compass (ST MEMS LSM303DLHC or LSM303AGR) and ST MEMS Gyroscope (ST MEMS L3GD20 or I3G4250D), that these are different parts, it fails to explain, how to identify, on which revision of the board is which part combination. Chapter 7.2 Board revision history fails to mention these changes entirely.ST, please take documentation seriously.JW

I am following this Controlerstech tutorial , learning how to FREERTOS+SD card.I found out some functions that work fine outside any os task , throw a Hardfault when executerd inside any FREERTOS task.....Functions that seem to be working from him.I feel like these functions are trying to access a forbidden area of memory.... but i dont know why is it forbidden, are there any memory boundaries we should respect when working inside tasks?I am new with FREERTOS and their QA didnt helped me yet. This felow had the same issue but using an esp32similar issue here in the commiunity https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000MA9VRSA1/free-rtos-sdcard-sdio-fatfs-fopen-problem

What I'd like to ask on this community forum is, has anyone faced any issue integrating the STL library? An FAE is engaged on this issue, with no response as of yet. We have good overall success, with the exception of the TM12 module, which fails occasionally. The occasional nature of the failure makes it difficult to troubleshoot.Note, the safety self-test library is an ST-provided library. We run it on the H7. Failures still occur in spite of following the guidelines in the STL integration guide UM2601.
