Cannot open 'console on MPU serial device'

I'm following the tutorials on the wiki about developing for the cortex-m4 on the DK2 kit. I'm facing trouble when I need to connect to the serial console, see image:

The chars shown on the error message are random. Things already tried:

• Update ST-link firmware
• Set COM port number to COM1 instead of com24
• Reconnect ST-link
• Re-flash clean starter package on DK2 board
• Reinstall cubeIDE to a fresh 1.4.0

Any idea how to resolve this error?

I also got access to MDK-ARM, is there a tutorial or wiki page on how to use the M4 with MDK-ARM?

Forgot the number 1 debugging tools: rebooting your PC. After rebooting this problem is resolved!
