meta-st-stmp32-addons variable issue ecosystem v4.0.0 - Kirkstone

There is an issue with a number of variables in the example machine conf files in the 4.0.0 (Kirkstone) ecosystem. The variable names have been changed in meta-st-stm32mp/conf/machine/include files but have not been changed in the addons layer example machine conf files to match. Currently:

# =========================================================================
# Device Storage
# =========================================================================
# Enable the board device storage support with CUBEMX_DTB according to BOOTDEVICE_LABELS
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE_NAND    += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nand-4-256', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE_NOR     += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nor-sdcard' , '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE_EMMC    += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'emmc', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE_SDCARD  += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'sdcard', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"

# =========================================================================
# Flashlayout
# =========================================================================
# Set the FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS to CUBEMX_DTB according to BOOTDEVICE_LABELS
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS_emmc        = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'emmc', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS_nand-4-256  = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nand-4-256', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS_nor-sdcard  = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nor-sdcard' , '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS_sdcard      = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'sdcard', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"

I think this should now read:

# =========================================================================
# Device Storage
# =========================================================================
# Enable the board device storage support with CUBEMX_DTB according to BOOTDEVICE_LABELS
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE:NAND    += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nand-4-256', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE:NOR     += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nor-sdcard' , '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE:EMMC    += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'emmc', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
DEVICE_BOARD_ENABLE:SDCARD  += "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'sdcard', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"

# =========================================================================
# Flashlayout
# =========================================================================
# Set the FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS to CUBEMX_DTB according to BOOTDEVICE_LABELS
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS:emmc        = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'emmc', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS:nand-4-256  = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nand-4-256', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS:nor-sdcard  = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'nor-sdcard' , '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"
FLASHLAYOUT_TYPE_LABELS:sdcard      = "${@bb.utils.contains('BOOTDEVICE_LABELS', 'sdcard', '${CUBEMX_DTB}', '', d)}"

It looks like some other variables are also effected by the change on naming convention.

Hello @JMoor.6,

We really thank you for your contribution. You are right, these files are still under Dunfell format. Dev team will patch it soon to respect Kirkstone variable format .

Kind regards.

Erwan.

Hi all,

A minor release 4.0.2 of the Distribution package has been issued on Github end of July containing the fix.
