Hello
I want to know the MCU Load, so I found this function
McuLoad = touchgfx::HAL::getInstance()->getMCULoadPct();
I call it in
void Model::tick()
But I always get 0, whatever I do it alwsys returns zero, so I don't think it's working well,
so, how could I resolve the problem? maybe I should call it from another place?
Thank you
Anton

Hi @qqAnton,
First of all you must enable MCU load calculation in your HAL configuration. Which platform are you using?
//From BoardConfiguration.cpp
STM32F7Instrumentation mcuInstr;
...
void touchgfx_init()
{
...
mcuInstr.init();
hal.setMCUInstrumentation(&mcuInstr);
hal.enableMCULoadCalculation(true);
...

I use stm32f429i-disco.
I have these functions in my BoardConfiguration.cpp
mcuInstr.init();
//Set MCU instrumentation and Load calculation
hal.setMCUInstrumentation(&mcuInstr);
hal.enableMCULoadCalculation(true);
But it is not working

Okay, then you may not have the proper settings in your FreeRTOSConfig.h - Can you post it (in particular the bottom part)? It defines some hooks for FreeRTOS to use to tell touchgfx when the guitask is scheduled in and out.
I'm guessing you're using the STM32F429-DISCO application template.

I thought only configUSE_IDLE_HOOK 1, needed.

Okay, now show me your OSWrapper.cpp - It contains the TouchGFX Idle task hook. configUSE_IDLE_HOOK 1 is needed to call the function in touchgfx that sets up the correct task tag. If that method is missing, nothing will happen.

@Martin KJELDSEN is this file ok?
2019-07-11 02:56 AM
Okay, so actually, that looks to be correct. Hmm. When the hook calls
touchgfx::HAL::getInstance()->setMCUActive(bool);
.. it will call into the MCUInstrumentation class. Do you have the option to break in there? setMCUActive() ? It's implemented in MCUInstrumentation.hpp
2019-07-11 03:13 AM
I set a breakpoint inside this function, but what should I see?
void STM32F4Instrumentation::setMCUActive(bool active)
{
if (active) //idle task sched out
{
cc_consumed += getCPUCycles() - cc_in;
}
else //idle task sched in
{
cc_in = getCPUCycles();
}
}
