The STM32 F4 series is the worlds highest performance Cortex-M microcontroller  168 MHz (Cortex-M4 with FPU) CPU, 210 DMIPS, 363 Coremark score;

The STM32 F4 is available now and ST will be distributing STM32 F4 Discovery Kits at the Embedded Systems Conference in Boston, Sept 27-28;

The STM32 F4 series extends the STM32 portfolio and now has 250+ compatible devices already in production, including the F1 series, F2 series and ultra-low-power L1 series

The STM32 F4 reinforces STs leadership in Cortex-M microcontrollers, with 45% world market share by units (cumulated 2007-Q1 2011 period according to ARM Cortex-M unit shipments reporting)

''Continue Releasing your Creativity with our STM32 !''

But only, apparently, if you're in North America!

:(

I note that free Discovery kits are available - but only to

North America!

:(

Come on, ST - there's more to the world than just North America!

Yes, give some boards also to Europe, especially to the students!

Hello,

I thought it would be interesting to say that Altium already released TASKING for ARM v4.0r1 that works with the STM32F4 series and with ST Link V2 (previously only ST Link V1). Works flawlessly for me.

About ST Micro, at first it was a French company, is it still one (just kidding)?

We also have a few engineers in Europe ... Of course a discovery kit would be welcome, but I'm mainly looking for a TQFP-64 STM32F4 to put on one of my boards (designed for STM32F205Rx), and price/availability.

Thomas.

''well, ST is hjeadquartered in Europe, I doubt they do not know that :)''

Which makes it particularly ironic that they shoud be acting like a North American corporation, and ignoring the rest of the world!

someone once said: ''there are 3 ways to do things, the right way, the wrong way and the French way'' :)

But isn't this website hosted by ST's North American unit, and probably semi autonomous? The world HQ is in Switzerland, which as I recall isn't a member of the EU, the populous actually afforded a referendum on the issue.

Perhaps the flak would be better directed at the European sales/marketing arm, or through your local representatives/distributors/FAEs.

NA sales/marketing were around last month talking about the M0/M4 roadmaps.

no, but it IS in Europe

Indeed in/within Europe but not in the Union, in the same way Quebec is in Canada, different rules apply. You'd think NA ST would have manuals readily available in French, and equally prominent.
