Any info about STM32 ?2011-05-17 03:15 AM
Dear all,
Here you go :Enjoy discovering the family features :p Best Regards, STOne-322011-05-17 03:15 AM
Hello,
I've heard a lot about Cortex-M3 recently. What is the difference between Cortex-M3 and ARM7/9 Thumb and ARM instruction Sets? Thanks :)[ This message was edited by: M3allem on 11-06-2007 16:01 ]2011-05-17 03:15 AM
Hi,
The STM32 family benefits from the Cortex-M3’s many new architectural enhancements including the Thumb-2 instruction set to deliver improved performance combined with better code density, and a tightly-coupled Nested Vectored Interrupt Controller for significantly faster response to interrupts. Thumb-2 instruction set provides 32bit performance with 16bit code density, gives complete Thumb Compatibility and is a Single POWERFULL instruction set with No more switching between ARM/Thumb modes. The most important difference between the Thumb ISA and the ARM ISA is that most 32-bit Thumb instructions are unconditional, whereas almost all ARM instructions can be conditional. However, Thumb-2 introduces a new If-Then (IT) instruction that delivers much of the functionality of the condition field in ARM instructions. In addition to the new 32-bit Thumb instructions, there are several new 16-bit Thumb instructions. Several new 32-bit ARM instructions are introduced at the same time. For more details you can refer to :With best regards, STOne-32 [ This message was edited by: STOne-32 on 11-06-2007 18:59 ]2011-05-17 03:15 AM
Is there a single PDF somewhere, which describes
all Thumb2 instructions of the Cortex-M3 in detail? Even on the ARM website I had no luck, just white papers which describe some aspects, but not a concentrated instruction set of the Cortex.2011-05-17 03:15 AM
Hi hild,
You can find a detailed description about the THUMB2 instruction set in the document ''ARM v7-M Architecture Application Level Reference Manual (beta release)'' available in the following link: Note: you will be asked to do a registration to download the document. hi again,
thank you for the link. the pdf was very helpful. next question: where and when will the eval-boards be available? I was checking out all German distributors, but they don't even have a clue or awareness of STM3210B-EVAL. do you have any information on - pricing - availability how does the STM3210B-EVAL differ from STM3210B-MCKIT and STM3210B-PRIMER ? thanks again! hild.2011-05-17 03:15 AM
Hi hild,
To order the STM3210B-EVAL board, please contact your local ST distributor. With best regards STOne-32
