My laptop doesn't recognize STM32

Hi.

I'm using STM32F446RET6 and F401RE, and I enjoy coding with those.

I majorly use my desktop PC to develop.

But for a long time, my laptop PC can't recognize my ST micro computer.

So I can't develop with my laptop.

Then I tried to upgrade ST-link.

But there's not any device to upgrade.

So I also saw Device Manager.

And I found a something to caution.

Then Cricked and tried to search the drivers of ST-link Debug.

Actually, I don't know much PC.

What should I do

Are these nucleo boards?

Uninstall drivers, rebooting, installing drivers, rebooting, then connecting the boards may fix it.

I did same thing, but still doesn't recognize.

But this caution popped up.

The ST-Link utility has not been recommended for use for a long time, which is why you should remove it from your tool pool and your memory.

But your STLinkUpgrade would also benefit from an upgrade from the hopelessly outdated version 3.4.0 - presumably you are still using an old version of STM32CubeIDE?

Have you tested other USB cables (there are many where only the power lines are connected)?

What version of Windows are you using on your notebook/laptop?

I'm using the version 1.11.2 on CubeIDE.

Is this up to date?

I tested some other USB, but doesn't work.

I had issues with Nucleo boards not being recognized on my home PC after I did an update to STM32CubeIDE. I tried to go back to the original version that i did have working but the Nucleo still wasn't being recognized. I had to use my work laptop to code on the Nucleo.

I think after some latest updates, 3 or 4 weeks later, I have been able to successfully connect to the Nucleo. Version 1.13.2 is currently the latest I haven't had any issues as of lately.

download and install actual version of stm32CubeProgrammer.

it should install needed drivers also. 

at least - on my laptop with win it worked.

of course allow all "dangerous" or "illegal" access , if win asks about - otherwise you never get drivers installed. 🙂

try to connect with stm32CubeProgrammer first !

Isn't it related to version?
