How to generate an arbitrary signal using DMA? (F446RE)

YSall.1

Hi everyone,

In my project, I try to create a TTL signal generator, and I found a useful function that uses DMA on PWM signal (HAL_TIM_DMABurst_MultiWriteStart), so that I can create arbitrary rectangle signal that I want.

I am using a timer frequency of 90 MHZ (32 bits timer)

Let's say I want this signal with a prescaler =0

0693W00000NsnFeQAJ.pngI tried this code with no success I have no result in my oscilloscope

uint32_t buffer32b[6] = {90000000, 0, 45000000, 180000000, 0, 90000000};
  HAL_TIM_DMABurst_MultiWriteStart(&htim2, TIM_DMABASE_ARR, TIM_DMA_UPDATE, buffer32b, TIM_DMABURSTLENGTH_3TRANSFERS, 6);
  HAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_1);

Here is the full code:

Can you please help me?

Read out and check/post content of TIM and relevant DMA and GPIO registers.

JW

Okay but it doesn't help me

How do you know?

JW

CCR1 and ARR are not updated when I debug and look at registers

Strangely, when I write this function it works CCR1 get updated
