I recently got STM32L053K8U6 from Arrow Electronics. I am very surprised as I couldn't find the datasheets/technical documentation of STM32L053K8U6 . I believe STM32L0 series MCUs have 10 years longvity commitment. Even if it is discontinued the datasheets must be make available in archives. Arrow Electronics website did not mention anything about its status like EoL.
Can anyone help me getting the datasheets of STM32L053K8U6 ?Thank you very much,-Krish #stm32l053k8u6 #stm32l053k8u62016-11-07 04:51 AM
This is primarily a user forum, if you want official answers you'll need to push in via your distributor and FAEs.
The document is from over 2 years ago, ST has in the past created SKU for parts destined for China, and also down rated die into less capable parts to meet volume or pricing goals. There looked to equivalent parts with alternative SKUI would be wary of the 10 year commitment, from ST and others, packaging is often out-sourced, and wafer fabs get decommissioned (natural disaster, sale, bankruptcy, obsolete equipment failure, etc). The might result in different die, stepping, or packaging being substituted. Given the rate of EoL products over recent years, I would anticipate a reasonably complex project might require a board respin every several years to use current parts, or most cost effective ones.2016-11-13 03:12 AM

That's it - the E053 marking instead of L053 tells that these are engineering samples.
Thanks for the picture. JW2016-11-15 06:13 PM
Hi Jan, I was just wondering, as these are Engineering Samples, why is Arrow.com selling them in the first place and that too with wrong information on their webpage?
