ST25DV64KC- DISCO blank screen.

Hello,

So I am trying to make my freshly bought ST25DV64KC- DISCO work.

I was trying to run the firmware update with NFC connectivity with the iOS NFC tap application.

It was not working, since for the firmware update demo with FTM, kept complaining about a newer firmware version.

Firstly, How am I supposed to update firmware without NFC connectivity?

Anyway, then I tried to update the firmware with the PC NFC application by STM.

But sadly that also did not work since the board did not connect at all with PC application.

So to manually update the firmware, I tried to do it with CUBE application which STM provides.

I installed this software, and provided it with hex file inside the prject directory from firmware download directly from stm website. And thal also did not work.

And worst is that now my board is stuck with a black screen, no interface, and I canot do anything with it.

Can anyone guide how I can factory reset with the original firmware atleast. Or any way I can atleast make it work?

Any leads will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Shamy,

the procedure is quite simple, let me summarize the required steps:

1) Download the latest version (v2.2.1) of package STSW-ST25DV002 and unzip the package, I suspect you downloaded the wrong one (the STSW-ST25DV001) on your board leading to this blank screen

2) Connect your DISCO board (should be the MB1396-B) to your PC through the mini USB port (located on the top left corner)

3) A new drive called MB1396 should appear on your windows explorer

4) Drag and drop the FW v2.2.1 (...\ST25DV64KC-DISCO_v2.2.1\Projects\ST25DV-Discovery\Demonstrations\ST25DVDemo\Binary\ST25DVDemo_MB1396.bin) to this new drive

5) The FW download should start and the STLINK led should be blinking red/green

6) Reset the board, the ST25 Demo Version 2.2.1 should be now on your board ...

Hoping this helps.

BR,

Cedric
