STSW-WPSTUDIO GUI cannot recognize STEVAL-SWLC38RXA & STEVAL-SWBC86TXA

Hello,

Recently, I purchased the STEVAL-SWLC38RXA and STEVAL-SWBC86TXA eval boards from Mouser. After some digging, I found the GUI and downloaded the STSW-WPSTUDIO v2.7.2. When I connect the RX board, I see the LED turn on. When I connect the SWBC86TXA to my PC and place the SWLC38RXA on top, the LED turns on, which tells me that the charging works.

The issue is that when I connect the boards to my PC through a USB-A to USB-C cable, the GUI does not recognize the boards. I have noticed in previous posts regarding this topic that the board's name appears.

I don't see anything (as shown in the figure below). STM1.png

When I click connect I see this message - "Unable to find any [RX]WLC38 device. Please check your connection again."

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong since the boards are brand new and the GUI should be able to identify the boards when they are connected. I have downloaded some drivers as mentioned in the other posts as well but Im unable to move further.

Any advice would be helpful! :)

I am still struggling with mine as well, however I did get past that screen when attempting to connect to the WLC38 eval board.  The part I missed was Step 2 in the picture below (also find it at the link here).  If you have a Qi transmitter Step 2a may be easiest.  If not, you can find some kind of jumper to connect VBUS and VOUT as stated in Step 2c.  I tried both of these options, and they seemed to work.  However, I ended up with another error that I haven't resolved yet.
