Is it dangerous to short circuit D1 on STM32F407 Discovery

Hi,

i damaged D1 on my STM32F4 Discovery board. Afterwards, i removed D1 and shorted there. Now, it works. Can i use it or is it dangerous?

Look at the schematic: D1 connects U5V to the common supply. As long as you do not use U5V, remove the short, keep it open. If you use U5V, replace it or USB supply will feed to U5V and large currents may flow.
