Hi, I am using L6235Q Evaluation board for my brushless motor. I connected the board to the motor and the motor not moving. the connection is so simple but the motor is not moving.

I am using 12V motor, all the phase I measured 12V, its look like it stuck at brake.

what can be the problem?

I am using motor 1028m012b - FAULHABER

Hi @IGAL TALOR,

so in summary, the solution to your original question was to replace the damaged motor (Hall effect signal missing), right?

Can you show us some picturesof your setup(wiring)?

we dont need to firmware by ourselves, lets talk

CONNECTIONS:

VS = 12V

J3-16 EN = 5V

J3-6 BRAKE =5V

J3-11 = 5V (its means VREF = 0.9V MEASURED)

J3-4 = 5V (FWD)

all Hall effects connected to motor

all Phased connected to motor

5V and GND supplied to motor

the motor that I am using

Hi @IGAL TALOR and welcome to the ST Community.

first I suggest to check the J2 setting: you have to change the default connecting the poles 2-3.

In this way you apply the the 5 V (J3-1) to the VDD net that is used for the Hall effect sensors supply voltage and pull-ups voltage.

Moreover, you may verify also the proper connection of motor:

  • Hall sensors: poles 6, 7, 8 to H3, H2, H1 respectively (J7-3, J7-2, J7-1) EDIT: correct the typo
  • Phases: poles 1, 2, 3 to OUT3, OUT2, OUT1 respectively (J5-1, J5-2, J5-3).

I would also point out that by applying a VREF voltage of 0.9 V in practice you are disabling the PWM current control (Ipeak = VREF/Rsense = 0.9 V / 0.1 ohm = 9 A!). I suggest to reduce the VREF value according to your target phase peak current.

Let me know is these info are useful to run the motor.

HI

J2, I already connected poles 2-3to use 5V.

J5-1 to motor pin 1

J5-2 to motor pin 2

J5-3 to motor pin 3

J7-1 to motor pin 8

J7-2 to motor pin 7

J7-3 to motor pin 6

PWM control no matter at this point, I just want to see that the motor is running.

Hi @IGAL TALOR,

please double check the J5 connection.

The silkscreen near the connector indicates the IC OUT number, not the J5 poles number.

I connected:

OUT1 J5-3 to motor pin 3

OUT2 J5-2 to motor pin 2

OUT3 J5-1 to motor pin 1

you can see at the motor data sheet that I attached before.

I tried to swap between PHASE A and C and the motor is not moving.

all the phases A,B and C are with 12V, looks like at brake.
