I am using an STM32 Nucleo-F767ZI with RMII Ethernet + LAN8742A PHY and an example project based on lwIP/TCP-IP. I noticed a strange behavior: if I comment out MX_USB_OTG_FS_PCD_Init(), Ethernet communication stops working. If I keep it enabled, Ethernet works correctly. The peripheral initialization order is: MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_USART3_UART_Init(); MX_LWIP_Init(); MX_TIM3_Init(); MX_SPI4_Init(); MX_CAN1_Init(); MX_UART5_Init(); MX_USB_OTG_FS_PCD_Init(); Additional observations: SystemClock_Config() does not change Replacing MX_USB_OTG_FS_PCD_Init() with HAL_Delay() does not fix it So it does not look like a timing issue It seems that HAL_PCD_Init() / HAL_PCD_MspInit() for USB is enabling or configuring something indirectly that Ethernet depends on My question is: What could USB FS initialization be configuring that would make Ethernet work, even though they should be unrelated? I am thinking about possibilities such as: GPIO clocks being enabled indirectly MSP/NVIC config

Hi,In STM32CubeIDE/MX versions 1.19 and 6.15, I configured HRTIM, and it worked fine without any errors in CubeMX. I have updated STM32CubeIDE/MX to versions 2.1.1 and 6.16.1, and I have noticed the error messages shown in the pictures below. The dead time is not used, but when set Output 2 state MX displays the message "Set Sources: nothing to set as Dead Time is enabled, Output2 signal is defined based on Output1 Configuration Set Sources". The project operates like before the update, but it is not possible to add new Set Sources (I can only change the number of Set Sources to zero). How to understand this behaviour?Krzysztof

Is there a detailed user manual available for the NUCLEO-U3C5ZI-Q?The product page links to a generic getting started document and a generic document on Nucleo 144 boards, but I can't see anything that lists the I/O or that documents the links.

I am planning to do an aging test which need capture the voltage of a net, but i found STM32U585OIY6QTR report a value about 40 while the actual voltage of ADC channel is close to VREF.Then i write a simple ADC demo to verify ADC configuration, and run my code on B-U585I-IOT02A board(based on STM32U585AII6Q), it report a correct value, but the same code report a wrong value on my board.I use ADC1  CHANNEL2(GPIOC GPIO_PIN_1) on both board. The only difference between B-U585I-IOT02A and my hardware is the different VREF i think(B-U585I-IOT02A use 3.3V, but my board use 2.5V).Is there any difference on ADC usage between STM32U585AII6Q and STM32U585OIY6QTR?You can find my ioc file and code in attachment, can anyone help me check my configuration?

I am performing FTM Demo (Firmware Update) on ST25PC-NFC using ST's STEVAL Reader Board. I have disabled the Fast commands from settings, so FTM is using writeMsg command. Below, I have added a snippet of one of the packets being sent. 2026-03-24 10:04:20.785 writeMsg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writeMsg << 0000 The packet aligns well with the Write Message request format from the datasheet except for the MsgLength and Message Data part.&n

Greetings - I would like to request consideration for a Latched INT option similar to that of the STHS34PF80 sensor (Register: CTRL3 22h). I typically utilize the VL53 with Min/Max threshold values and would like the option to have the INT signal latched when the object is within threshold values.Thank you for the consideration,Terry

I am trying to develop a small scale lorawan app on a nucleo-wl55jc using the application example in stm32cube_fw_wl_v1.5.0 and have spent several hours trying to trace my error/bug in the software. All join attempts fail because the deveui as it appears in the se-identity.h file is ignored and the mcu derived value applied. Tracing this value to the lora_app.c file shows the se-identity.h file is correctly read and the macro expansion appears to give the correct value in the set user credentials section (lines 617-620) but the join is attempted using what I believe to be the mcu derived value. The same credentials work as expected when used under stm32cude_fw_wl_1.4.0 At the outset, I must confess it's 25 years since I did any serious programming so I may of missed something obvious but I would be grateful for any pointers as to why it's failing!

Hi everybody,I read 15 analog channels with DMA on my STM32f446. It works very well (It's tiggrered by TIM3 every 200ms).So I'd like to add Vbat. First, I've added it as the 16th channel of DMA, it works, but I saw the battery voltage decreases (around 0.05V in two hours), so I think I read it too often. So I'd like to read it periodically (every minute for example).I'm trying to read my 15 first channels with DMA and then a classic read for Vbat, but the value is always wrong (around 560 instead of 1000).Is it possible to do that (two different means to read ADC) ?Thank you,

On ST87M01 current version 2.7.0 I suspect that everything that goes in module via "AT" interface passes through filter which removes spaces and sets everything lowercase. This is OK for AT commands, but it mingles with user data that is passed, for example topic and message in mqttpub command, which is unexpected behavior. For example:at#mqttpub=Topic1,This is a testexpected topic is "Topic1" but you get "topic1"expected message is "This is a test" but you get "thisisatest".

Hi!My application requires NIST-compliant random number generation, and I see some unclear/contradicting info on the Reference Manual, the AN4230 application note, and the public NIST certificate. My MCU is STM32H563ZI.- Reference Manual: https://www.st.com/resource/en/reference_manual/rm0481-stm32h52333xx-stm32h56263xx-and-stm32h573xx-armbased-32bit-mcus-stmicroelectronics.pdf- AN4230: https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an4230-introduction-to-random-number-generation-validation-using-the-nist-statistical-test-suite-for-stm32-mcus-and-mpus-stmicroelectronics.pdf- Public NIST certificate E163: https://csrc.nist.gov/CSRC/media/projects/cryptographic-module-validation-program/documents/entropy/E163_PublicUse.pdf Confusing/contradicting info:- E163 gives a RNG_CR of 0x08F01EXX, but AN4230 says value should be 0x00F01E00 (note difference in bit 27). Also, manual says bit 27 "must be kept at reset value.".- Reset values on the manual do not match my

Dear all,I have been modifying the VENC_SDCard_ThreadX example and wanted to start some activity based on the user button, triggered by interrupt using the usual HAL + BSP helpers to init the gpio, and registering a handler function for falling flanks. So I tried BSP_PB_Init(BUTTON_USER1, BUTTON_MODE_EXTI);and implemented BSP_PB_Callback(). Symptom: Hitting the button turned the program to be stuck in some unrelated irqhandler (debugger name-clash -- the defaulthandler triggered), the callback has not been triggered.I had a look at the BSP implementationn and retried the same with HAL functions, same effect, this code in BSP_PB_Init() sparked my interest: (void)HAL_EXTI_GetHandle(&hpb_exti[Button], BUTTON_EXTI_LINE[Button]); (void)HAL_EXTI_RegisterCallback(&hpb_exti[Button], HAL_EXTI_COMMON_CB_ID, ButtonCallback[Button]);which registers a callback,  and further down the line in stm32n6xx-hal-driver-exti.c there is an HAL_EXTI_IRQHandler  implementation which

Hi, I'm using the STM32U5G9J-DK1 Demo Board with the STM Demo Program Ux_Device_DFU, because I need to create a specific bootloader for my board. The STM32CubeProgrammer program connects to the board via USB and I can read its memory, but the program doesn't receive information from the Flash Blocks, so programming doesn't start. If I enable the Bootloader available in the MPU's system memory, the programming via the STM32CubeProgrammer works correctly. What should I change in the STM source code to avoid this problem?Thank you in advanced

Hi all, I am currently working with the STM32WLE5JC for a LoRa/LoRaWAN-based IoT node and would like to clarify some points regarding LoRa FHSS and LR-FHSS support. From several discussions in the STMicroelectronics Community, I noted the following statements from ST employees and contributors: “There is no way to activate the frequency hopping as the LoRa stack does not offer this feature on the STM32WL.” “After further investigation, it appears that the Semtech SX1262 does not support LoRa FHSS, (but supports for LR FHSS). This is a hardware limitation rather than a driver limitation.” “There is no reference to LoRa FHSS in the driver code or documentation.” It is also understood that: Semtech SX1262 RF IP (which the STM32WLE5 is based on) does not support LoRa FHSS from a hardware perspective Based on this, my understanding is that: :backhand_index_pointing_right: STM32WLE5JC does not support LoRa FHSS However, I would like clarification on the following: 1. LoRa FHSS Support C

I was wondering if there is any possibility to change the NCS from NCS1_port2 to NCS2_port2 using the OTP registers on the STM32N6.I checked the registers but couldn’t find any option to adjust this. Maybe its not possible. Just to confirm my understanding:The default setting for ROM boot is XSPI1 using XSPIM_Port_2, and NCS1 is "required" by the ROM boot code to correctly load the FSBL via LoadAndRun. https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/stm32n6-it-s-possible-to-change-xspi2-to-xspi1-for-boot-using/m-p/847884/highlight/true#M287378 Kind regards,Zimmeri

I am currently using the STM32H735G-DK.While white and red seem to display correctly, black(0x0000) appears as a dark purple when rendered. Even when displaying textures, there is a slight purple tint mixed in throughout the image.I am writing to the framebuffer in RGB565 mode, and the LCD is reading directly from it. What could be causing this color distortion?

Dear ST,The STM32H5 overview page seems to display the wrong number(1) of CANFD controllers for STM32H5E4 in the line comparison table. The datasheet says it's 3,  like for all the others  in the STM32H5E/F lines. Also, I couldn't find anything in the errata sheet about non usable CAN instances.

Hello Forum,I want to use a Nucleo 64 STM32F401 Board to test I2C connection with an unknown master (reverse engineering). The Bus consits of 1 Master (unknown Controller) an 1 Slave (My STM32F40). The Master sends out a Read Request at Addr. 5 and the Slave should respond with 3 Bytes. I've connected the I2C Bus to PB6/PB7 of the Nucleo Board. On Softwareside I Initialized with bare metal Code, see attachment.I my setup a I2C Master sends out a Adress byte with read request to address 5, but my Controller doesn't do a thing at all. I would expect at least an ACK Bit, but nothing can be monitored. From the Signal capture the bus looks fine for me, but in which mode do I need to configure the stm32 slave? Is this standard mode or fast mode. Is the clock speed of any concern in this case (slave)? How to config the CCR and TRISE register in this case. The Port seems to be configured correct, the IDR of GPIOB detects a "1" on PB6/PB7.In my example I've also enabled interrupts, but

Hello,We programmed our STM32L011 microcontroller with firmware that enters STOP mode and waits for an interrupt. However, we accidentally disabled the interrupt on the PA4 line. As a result, the device now immediately enters STOP mode, and we are unable to reprogram it.Could you please advise how we can recover the device in this situation?Thank you in advance.

Hello! We are using an STM32L0 microcontroller as a power switch. The device works correctly when the firmware is started from STM32CubeIDE using the Run command. However, if we switch the power supply off and then back on, the STM32L0 does not boot.We suspect there may be an issue related to the reset circuit. Please see the attached schematic. The relevant device is U6.Could you please advise?Thank you in advance.

Hello world!I want to move a motor with serial commands. I use the stm32g051 PWM and a DC motor. And for the sake of lower consumption of energy and cpu I use a dma in circular mode. And of course I want to change the pwm from time to time. But somehow, there is always a delay of more than 10 seconds between the calling of the function and the change in the motor behaviour. mid_error_t tim_forward_buffers(void) { for (uint16_t i=0; i<PWM_BUF_LEN; i++){ pwm_ch1[i] = (uint32_t)(param.speed * (htim2.Init.Period-2))/ MAX_SPEED; //pwm_ch1[i] = 0; // htim2.Init.Period; pwm_ch2[i] = 0; } __HAL_TIM_SET_COMPARE(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_1, pwm_ch1[0]); __HAL_TIM_SET_COMPARE(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_2, pwm_ch2[0]); return MID_ERROR_OK; }You may guess that the PWM_BUF_LEN is too big... There is just one element in pwm_ch1 and pwm_ch2. What may cause this problem? I use the __HAL_TIM_SET_COMPARE to change the pwm faster and the pwm_ch1 pwm_ch2 just contain one elem

I'm working on adding a custom STM32MP257 board based on the openstlinux distribution package, and I'm currently using the STM32MP257F-EV1 board. I'm having problems with booting on eMMC with a stm32cubemx-generated device tree. What I've done:* Created a STM32MP257F-EV1 project in CubeMX. I've only changed the project name, no pinning etc (based on instructions from https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_create_STM32MPU_projects_with_STM32CubeMX#Create_an_STM32MP2_series_project)* Copied the generated output into layers/meta-st/meta-st-stm32mp-addons/mx* Copied stm32mp25-mx.conf to a custom one and edited (perhttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_create_your_own_machine)BOOTSCHEME_LABELS += "optee" [...] BOOTDEVICE_LABELS += "sdcard" BOOTDEVICE_LABELS += "emmc" * Built the image usingDISTRO=openstlinux-weston MACHINE=stm32mp257f-simon source layers/meta-st/scripts/envsetup.sh bitbake st-image-westonwhich finishes successfully (CUBEMX_DTB, CUBEMX_PROJECT etc being set in

Hi,I am testing PD11 on an STM32H563ZI with a NUCLEO-H563ZI board.The pin is configured as plain GPIO input using STM32 HAL:GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_11; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP; // or GPIO_PULLDOWN / GPIO_NOPULL HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOD, &GPIO_InitStruct);I rebuild and reflash the firmware for each case, then read the pin with HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_11).What I observe is:GPIO_MODE_INPUT + GPIO_PULLUP -> LOWGPIO_MODE_INPUT + GPIO_PULLDOWN -> HIGHGPIO_MODE_INPUT + GPIO_NOPULL -> LOWI also checked the pin with a multimeter, and the measured pin level matches what the MCU reads.I have rebuilt and reflashed multiple times and I keep getting the same pattern. My expectation was that a floating input with internal pull-up should read HIGH, and with internal pull-down should read LOW.Is there anything special about PD11 on NUCLEO-H563ZI / STM

Hello, Long time lurker here. First of all, thank you for the extensions, really appreciated the possibility to work directly in vscode.I have a couple of situation, however, that are really annoying and that I would like to solve. While developing in vscode with the extension enabled. It is sufficient to update the CMake presets in order to have the tools installed by the ST extension to make the git repository dirty. If before committing the files to the repo a pre-commit that formats the files in a proper way then it is amplificated. The files: c_cpp_properties.json in the .vscode folder is always updated with the compileCommands updated if dynamic folders for Debug and Release are used .clangd configuration file is updated in the CompilationDatabase field. In my opinion there are two different types of settings: settings that needs to be persinstent, and maybe reusable on different computers by different userssettings related only to the current runThere

Hi, I consistently hit HardFault when using PICOLIBC. I am using a STM32H735G-DK board.Setup:1. Start from a black CubeMX project, selecting the board and default pins. The FreeRTOS must be enabled, and the TouchGFX (with the MPU configured). We will target CMake and SR Arm Clang. Generate code.2. Open TouchGFX and load the project with the file ApplicationTemplate.touchgfx.part. No need to add anything, just generate code.3. Open the entire project with VSCode. The project by default uses the PICOLIBC in the file starm-clang.cmake. The project as is compiles successfully. flash onto the board and click Continue. The code will instantly go in HardFault_Handler().Here is a printscreen: Can anyone try to reproduce this, just to make sure it is not something only on my side? Thank you!If I change for STARM_NEWLIB in starm-clang.cmake instead of STARM_PICOLIBC, everything works as expected, no hardfault, and the screen initializes successfully.I have added a demo project.
