Hi,I just installed STM32CubeProgrammer v2.17.0 on Linux. When I connect to the board (tried with several different ones), I get the following error;flash loader cannot be loaded. FlashLoaderPath = /home/[yadayada]/bin/FlashLoader/0xI can read the flash, I can do everything, with the exception of flashing. This fails.I first thought it might be a truncated log message. But when I just copied any of the loader files and gave it the file name "0x", I didn't get the error message. So it really looks for a file named "0x". It looks like in the code, the assembly of the file name (all the files match the pattern 0x*.stldr) I tried to do an software update, but this also fails: "The updater package on server is corrupted"

Hello,I am encountering an issue with the ST example projects "BLE_p2pServer" and "BLE_DataThroughput_Server" for the NUCLEO-WBA65RI board. After generating the code using STM32CubeMX (version 6.17), the project does not include all the required source files. As a result, the compilation fails immediately, even before making any modifications to the code.I enabled the option:"Generate peripheral initialization as a pair of '.c/.h' files per peripheral".The main issue is that the following file is missing:"stm32wbaxx_ll_utils.c" .It seems that some HAL/LL driver files are not being generated or included properly in the project.Could you please advise on:Whether this is a known issue with STM32CubeMX 6.17?If there is an additional step required to include all necessary driver files?Or if a specific configuration is needed for these BLE examples?Thank you in advance for your help.Best regards,Pierre A

Hi,During the design with the STM32H743IIK6 MCU few questions arise:(1)  While designing a PCB with the STM32H743IIK6 (UFBGA176+25 package) with VDD=3.3V or 2.8V, I am unable to locate the VCCLDO pin, which is expected to be connected to external capacitor. Am i missing something in the pinout, or does the internal LDO in this specific package rely solely on the capacitors on the VCAP pins?(2) There are two sets of QUADSPI I/O sets: BK1 and BK2 (i intend to use the BK2). However, I do not see any separate clock pins for each. Do both channels share the same QUADSPI_CLK signal for both banks?(3) Regarding the USB interface: I see a VDD33USB pin, but there is no VDD5USB pin. Does this require an external 3.3V DC input, or is it an internal signal output that only requires a decoupling capacitor?Additionally, I am unable to locate the USB_DP and USB_DM pins on the UFBGA176 package. Is there specific hardware documentation / example schema that clarifies the physical lo

Hi,I am using STM32G0 with STM32 Motor Control SDK. ADC1 is used for motor current sensing (triggered by TIM1 for FOC control).Since STM32G0 has only one ADC and does not support injected channels, I needed to read an additional NTC sensor (ADC channel 8) for motor stator temperature.I implemented this using Regular Conversion Manager (RCM):Registered ADC channel using RCM_RegisterRegConv()Requested conversion periodically (~300 ms)Read the value after conversion completionThe motor is running stable, and I am able to get temperature readings without visible disturbance. My question:Is this a correct and recommended approach for reading an additional analog signal in STM32G0 + MCSDK?Are there any potential risks (timing issues, FOC accuracy impact) when using RCM alongside motor control?Or is there a better recommended method for this use case (e.g., external ADC, different MCU, or MCSDK-specific approach)?Thank you.

Heyho, wanted to check if C5 might be good for next project and have a first look at MX2. Installed it, started project with C562 / Nucleo - and nothing happens, except for a short error message in the bottom right corner of the window: "error when downloading packs" ( + some file name). Further info: - Windows 11 - started MX2 first as normal user, then as admin, same behaviour - all other STM32 tools running fine (MX1, IDE, Prog)

hello ST Community,Is it possible to generate a binary file that is a *.elf file from a project developed by STM32CubeIDE?Using the correct settings for generating *.bin files. The *.bin file would be used to create a bootloader via UART for one of the STM32 microcontrollers. Thanks for your valuable support.

Yesterday I was able to generate a cmake project which included main.c/h files. I opened the project in VS Code but had errors trying to build. I had VS code fix the errors so now I am able to build the project. Today, I generated another project but the main.c/h files are missing as seen in the screen shot. I've timed the project generation and it takes 3 minutes to generate a project. Why so long? Why are the IOC files created outside of the project folder?

The problem is that the transceiver will set the RX pin high at boot , this will put the G431 in boot mode and never start . The question is how to set and reset the nSWBOOT0 bit in the program . I mean , if I am right ::2) at setup (yes , Arduino) , the nSWBOOT0 bit is set in order to disable BOOT0 pin , thus allow normal (CAN bus) operation after boot  on PB8 .1) but this will reset the STM32 , so before doing 2) , one need to read the level of nSWBOOT0 , and only set it if it is 0 . (one time action)3) but this will brick the DFU uploading . To reset this , for exemple by a customer In order to update the firmware , one have to reset the nSWBOOT0 by the program . This could be done by a button , or by a code received trough USB .Hope this is clear enough (and correct of course) . But doing this is not that simple for me , so I wonder if there is a working code available for this (sure , some people have done the trick successfully ) ?Thank you !Edit : c

Hello,I am currently experiencing some difficulties using the NUCLEO-N657X0-Q board.I am using STLinkUpgrade v3.17.10, and the device ID is correctly recognized as 003500244142501120353451, as shown in the attached image. However, when I click "Open in update mode," the PWR_STATUS LED on the Nucleo board turns off and the connection is dropped.I am not sure if this specific update is critical for operation, but I would greatly appreciate any guidance or help to resolve this issue.

Quick question. I am working on two projects:One is a dual-core project, and uses the STM32H755 and CMSIS-RTOS v2 over Free RTOS. I often have to debug two boards simultaneously.Another project is using STM32H573. This uses TrustZone and ThreadX (on the non-secure side). Both are currently managed via ST Cube IDE (Eclipse based of course) and debugging is already quite "complex".I can see advantages with VS Code, but moreover, I would not be surprised if the VS Code route becomes the de-facto standard some day (purely speculative of course), so I think I may need to start looking at it.Before I do, my question to the community is whether the VS Code option is yet mature enough for dual core and TrustZone projects? Many thanks in advance,Nick

Based on User manual of Steval-Smartag2, it has an optional battery charger circuit based on STBC15.However the SMD Components for STBC15 battery charger, haven't been attached as seen from the following photo:Here is an Snapshot from the User Manual:   Based on this STBC15QTR, BAT54SFILM, STL4P3LLH6, STL6N3LLH6 and some other components should be added. However I've little problem with attaching these SMD components. STBC15QTR can't be soldered with a standard soldering iron, as the connection pads are entirely underneath the chip. In the other hand using hot bed or reflow oven doesn't make sense, as they would damage other parts of Smartag2 (for example debuging pins)I unfortunatly couldn't find any instructions for attaching theese SMD components. Now I am wondering What is ST:s official suggestion on, how these components should be attached? :)

Hi all,I am currently working on the design of a custom LoRa/LoRaWAN-based IoT node using the STM32WLE5JCI6TR (bare MCU, not a module), and I am looking for a complete and reliable hardware reference design to follow. So far, I have identified the following:NUCLEO-WL55JC reference design files (schematics and PCB) from ST, which appear to be the closest official reference (even though it is based on WL55 dual-core variant)Wio-E5 Dev Board from Seeed Studio, which is based on a module and does not expose the RF design detailsWhile these are helpful, I am specifically looking for:A reference design based directly on STM32WLE5JC (or very close variant)Complete design files including:Full schematicsPCB layout filesRF matching network implementationAntenna routingPCB stack-up / layer informationSince RF design (matching, impedance control, grounding, etc.) is quite sensitive, having a proven reference is critical.Additionally, I would like to know::backhand_index_pointing_right: Are there an

I am experiencing difficulty getting the NUCLEO-WL55JC1 to properly enter Shutdown mode. In some cases, the device appears to enter Shutdown mode but exits immediately. In other cases, it remains in Shutdown mode, but the current consumption is approximately 1 mA. The procedure I am using to enter Shutdown mode is straightforward, yet the behavior does not seem correct. Could you please advise on possible causes or recommended debugging steps for this issue?

i'm using SPC58EC80E5 in that pin number 28 TX and 29 RX , in low level drivers configuration i dont know which MCAN to be select please help me and also if i want to configure any other CAN ,which MCAN i should select. below is my configuration screenshot check it .

As asked in the subject: Is there a hole in the memory map of the STM32C552VC (Bank1 from 0x08000000 to 0x08020000 / Bank2 from 0x08040000 to 0x08060000) or are the two banks continuous from 0x08000000 to 0x08040000)

Hi guys,I'm working on custom board with STM32F411 + spiflash for a project with Touchgfx (partial buffer). At the moment I got spiflash and STM32F411 working via SP1 + DMA and that's fine.I'm using IAR 9.70 for this project and I'm facing an issue with external flash loader when I do a debugging session. When I start a debugging session, flash is programmed and the external loader programs the spiflash too.But on the end of the programming the procedure fails with:  Sun Mar 29, 2026 21:45:19: Initial reset was performedSun Mar 29, 2026 21:45:19: Loaded debugee: C:\Program Files\IAR Systems\Embedded Workbench 9.2_3\arm/config/flashloader/ST/FlashSTM32F4xxxRAM128K.outSun Mar 29, 2026 21:45:19: Target resetSun Mar 29, 2026 21:45:26: Unloaded macro file: C:\Program Files\IAR Systems\Embedded Workbench 9.2_3\arm/config/flashloader/ST/FlashSTM32F4xxx.macSun Mar 29, 2026 21:45:26: Loaded macro file: D:\ARM\STM32F411\AlphaTui\CubeMx\AlphaTui\EWARM/icf/ExtSPIFLd.macSun Mar 29, 2026 21:

Hi Team,We are observing persistent and repeatable debug connectivity issues on multiple custom boards based on the STM32H745BIT6 MCU. These boards were initially functioning as expected; however, after repeated debug sessions, they started exhibiting failures. We request your support in identifying the potential root causes and guidance on recovery. We have performed Full Chip erase also whenever it was possible.  Below are our consolidated observations captured across multiple boards.Observed IssuesDebug Interface Failures After Multiple SessionsAfter several debug sessions, the following errors are observed intermittently:TARGET_HELD_UNDER_RESETTARGET_NOT_HALTEDTARGET_NO_DEVICEError: Unable to get core IDInconsistent Connectivity Between ToolsThe device intermittently connects using STM32CubeProgrammer.The same device frequently fails to connect in Debug mode using STM32CubeIDE.Loss of Debug Connection During RuntimeDuring debugging, the controller runs for a few seconds.T

We are currently using the NDefLib repository hosted on mbed.com (NDefLib | Mbed). As Arm has announced that all Mercurial-hosted repositories on mbed.com will be permanently deleted in July 2026 due to the retirement of the Mbed platform, we would like to seek clarification regarding the future availability of this library.Could you kindly confirm whether the ST/NDefLib library will be migrated and made available on the ST portal or any other official ST platform after the shutdown of mbed.com? This information will help us plan our migration strategy and ensure we continue to rely on the latest supported version of the library.Thank you very much for your support.

I have a program where I have TIM2 CH1 set up in output compare mode. Approximately 0.5 ms after the timer is reset, CH1's compare value is reached. This triggers the CH1 DMA, which is a dummy DMA on DMA1 channel 1. The SPI TX DMA is synced to the TIM2_CH1 DMA (with a request count of 16, to allow 16 bytes through the SPI), and therefore if it is armed should automatically start at that moment. The purpose of this is to eventually provide an interrupt-free delay for an external SPI slave that requires a 350ns delay between CSn active and SCLK active.I have this all mostly working, but my problem is that about 5% of the time, the SPI DMA does not complete. I can't figure out what in my code is allowing this to happen. The basic structure is:Arm SPI DMAs.Reset TIM2 counter.Wait until the DMA completes. (This should be triggered by TIM2 reaching the compare value. However, for reasons I cannot understand, about 5-10% of my transfers never appear to start -- I wait for a long period of time

I have an stm32h7s78-dk and I created a GUI with TouchGFX.  I am trying to transmit some data via UART when a button is pressed.  I have the virtual function triggering in my MainDisplay and I was trying to use FreeRTOS and Queues to communicate from the virtual function from the button press to the uart task that I created via STMCubeMX.  For some reason though, the screen stays black when I try to use an if(xQueueReceive(queueHandle, &message, 0) == pdPASS) { printf("Message received"); }in my uart task. If I comment out this code then everything works fine and the GUI is visible.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.  Here is my main.c/* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2023 STMicroelectronics. * All rights rese

When a USART is configured without a clock, the code generator treats it as a UART and assigns HAL_UART_IRQHandler as the interrupt handler. However, within this handler, there is a blocking operation during the idle process:(void)HAL_DMA_Abort(huart->hdmarx);When certain error conditions occur, the code can become stuck in HAL_GetTick(). This happens because the SysTick priority is lower than that of the UART interrupt. I have observed this behavior multiple times, particularly when noise is present on the UART signal line.Has Anyone seen this situation before?

When I click this button, my mouse keeps spinning but the program does not open, and there is no error message. I tried using Refresh Data, but it had no effect.
