[Apologies in advance if this question has been asked a thousand times. I just didn't know how to search to get the answer that I'm looking for.] I defined a section in the linker script to store version information. However, I'm unable to figure out how to read this memory from the c/c++ code side.  In the linker script, I defined it in the 2nd section after the .isr_vector, ie: SECTIONS { /* The startup code goes first into FLASH */ .isr_vector : { . = ALIGN(4); KEEP(*(.isr_vector)) /* Startup code */ . = ALIGN(4); } >FLASH /* Version Data Into Flash */ .version : { . = ALIGN(4); KEEP(*(.version)) KEEP(*(.version*)) . = ALIGN(4); } >FLASH . . } In the main.c, I was able to set the version by: static const char version[] __attribute__((used)) __attribute__((section (".version"))) = "v0.1.0";   Elsewhere in the code, I want to get the version string. I tried the following but the debugger shows the memptr pointer is 0x0: const char* __attribute__(( section(".version")

Hello,I think I might have found a bug source in the CubeMX's generated code, when two components of a same driver share the same clock.Here I'll use the example of the ADC 1 and 2 of the STM32H743GTV6 but I have see this case a few times elsewhere.As the two ADC use the same clock, to avoid initiating it while the other is already using it, a check variable is used: static uint32_t HAL_RCC_ADC12_CLK_ENABLED=0; void HAL_ADC_MspInit(ADC_HandleTypeDef* adcHandle) { GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct = {0}; if(adcHandle->Instance==ADC1) { /* USER CODE BEGIN ADC1_MspInit 0 */ /* USER CODE END ADC1_MspInit 0 */ /* ADC1 clock enable */ HAL_RCC_ADC12_CLK_ENABLED++; if(HAL_RCC_ADC12_CLK_ENABLED==1){ __HAL_RCC_ADC12_CLK_ENABLE(); } /* Some code */ } else if(adcHandle->Instance==ADC2) { /* USER CODE BEGIN ADC2_MspInit 0 */ /* USER CODE END ADC2_MspInit 0 */ /* ADC2 clock enable */ HAL_RCC_ADC12_CLK_ENABLED++; if(HAL_RCC_ADC12_CLK_ENABLED==1){ __HAL_RCC_ADC12_C

I'm quite new in STM32CubeIDE.Working with the "live expression" tab during debugging I wonder if there is a possibility to format the output e.g. for a float value in the decimal value ?Here:  1.43924809 to 1.42

Hi. I've amended the linux driver for the VL53L5CX with better support for multi-sensor installations, with the I2C address set by the kernel module at initialization, address given by the device tree. ST feel free to add to the official driver, as the SATEL breakout boards are sold in pairs ;).martinpalsson/vl53l5cx-linux-driver: A fork of the official VL53L5CX linux driver from ST Microelectronics (github.com)

The chip package of the STM32WB series in Keil has been failed to be installed, and the display "cannot copy license file to '. Download' folder”

Hi,I am developing embedded software using IAR IDE version 9.20 on STM32U5.  I would like to modify option byte to enable SRAM ECC while programming the device using IAR IDE. Request to share the thoughts.Regards,Hareesha

Hello,I created a bootloader and the two applications according to the YouTube tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkUQ3iMmiYQ&list=PLnMKNibPkDnEb1sphpdFJ3bR9dNy7S6mO&index=1). This works so far.The application is started by the bootloader using the go2APP() function. void go2APP(void) { uint32_t JumpAddress; pFunction Jump_To_Application; //check if there is something "installed" in the app FLASH region if (((*(uint32_t*) FLASH_APP2_ADDR) & 0x2FFE0000) == 0x20000000) { HAL_Delay(100); //jump to the application JumpAddress = *(uint32_t *) (FLASH_APP2_ADDR + 4); // Original Jump_To_Application = (pFunction) JumpAddress; //initialize application's stack pointer __set_MSP(*(uint32_t *) FLASH_APP2_ADDR); Jump_To_Application(); } else if (((*(uint32_t*) FLASH_APP1_ADDR) & 0x2FFE0000) == 0x20000000) { HAL_Delay(100); //jump to the application JumpAddress = *(uint32_t *) (FLASH_APP1_ADDR + 4); Jump_To_Application = (pFunction) JumpAddress; //ini

Hello,I am using the stm32h563 processor in my project. I made a TCP Server application using the ethernet connections of this processor and I was able to run it as I wanted. But I saw that it could not connect to another client over the same IP address without breaking the connection with one client. Even though I set the NX_MAX_PHYSICAL_INTERFACES defined value to two, there was no change. Also, in the files I shared, it is said that we can make a tcp server and 2 tcp client connections and open a separate socket for each (1). After some research, I realized that this problem can be solved with lwip + freertos. Below are examples of these solutions. How can I make a similar solution on Azure RTOS Netx side?Our problem with lwip + freertos solved community issue(2) was previously shared and the solution was "By tweaking the options in lwipopts.h, it should be possible to receive more incoming connections: MEMP_NUM_TCP_PCB, MEMP_NUM_TCP_PCB_LISTEN, MEMP_NUM_NUM_NETCONN, etc... I am working on using FreeRTOS for a project, and have implemented printf() debugging by redirecting it to a uart. This works great most of the time, and is very helpful for FreeRTOS debugging, as FreeRTOS_printf() and FreeRTOS_debug_printf() will leverage this functionality.Unfortunately, it seems to cause hard faults frequently, but not in every case. One call that consistently caused a hard fault was FreeRTOS_printf( ( "FreeRTOS_connect: %u to %xip:%u\n", [...]);Another one I had to manually remove wasFreeRTOS_debug_printf( ( "Socket %u -> [%s]:%u State %s->%s\n", [...]);I came across a previous post which seemed to have a similar issue, but it appeared to have been resolved. Is there more configuration that I need to implement to have this work in every case? Or is there something else I am missing? Some more details about my implementation:I am using CubeMX to generate my codeI am using OpenOCD and GCCMy printf implementation uses the following code#ifdef

Hi All,Today I received two NUCLEO-H503RB boards, but when trying to get the ADC calibration values the processor HardFaults. According to the datasheet it's the correct address: Also when trying to access it with the debugger it failsAlso the temperature sensor calibration seems defective.Something I'm doing wrong or are Nucleo's not calibrated or something?

i am using STM3210E Eval board which has STM32F103 uC i am trying to recorded some adc value over the period of long time but with the time. I am using RTC to achieve that so that even in case pf power loss the adc might not get measured but the time stays correct. As per my cell holder's size in the board i am using CR1220 button cell of 3V and have changed the jumper to give cell volatge to VBAT of uC but the values i am getting out of RTC is not correct. It does stays even if main supply is off but the value itself is not correct for example it's seconds goes upto 90 and then next min comes up but on measuring that 90 seconds is actually 60s only where few steps are missed to like after72 it's directly 80. I haven't checked for min,hr and more but even so the value is totally incorrect. i mean just look at below.i mean how can the year go to 36 and date to 41 and hours 33!!!. i mean why is it like this what changes do i need to make to get it rightPS: i had programmed it 2 days ago

Hello,Due to more required space, our product shall be upgraded from STM32F101RD CPU to STM32F101RG. That is an upgrade in flash memory from 384KByte to 1MByte and in RAM memory from 48 kKByte to 80 KByte.For the STM32F101RD controller, we used the define STM32F10X_HD as preprocessor define in the Keil IDE. For the STM32F101RG is it correct to use STM32F10X_XL?Is it additionally necessary to define the flash memory of the STM32F101RG? Although the larger CPU is chosen in the device options, within Keil the error "no space in execution regions" is thrown.Thanks in advance! Best Regards,Regina Kaune

Hello,As mentioned in the title, the custom board system VDD is 1.85 volt, I wonder if there are anyways that I can setup the PVD to work with such voltage. I follow the example and I only get the interrupt at startup but then cutting power off, obviously I see no other interrupt.  HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(PVD_PVM_IRQn, 0, 0); HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(PVD_PVM_IRQn); PWR_PVDTypeDef ConfigPVD; ConfigPVD.Mode = PWR_PVD_MODE_IT_RISING_FALLING; ConfigPVD.PVDLevel = PWR_PVDLEVEL_0; HAL_PWR_ConfigPVD(&ConfigPVD); HAL_PWR_EnablePVD();

Hi @STTwo-32  @TDK @KDJEM.1 @Issamos @Remy ISSALYS ,I have started using Nucleo-WBA55CG for BLE Audio and realized STM32Cube_FW_WBA_V1.3.0 does not contain any audio code for the board. But STM32WBA55CG- DK1 has the ble audio snippet code.Can I use the nucleo board to implement the audio examples since the microcontroller is same? Thank You in advance.

Hi,1. In the STM32G0x1 reference manual I can read about the FDCAN peripheral. But there is no STM32G0 MCU with FDCAN anyway. Why is FDCAN in this reference manual anyway?2. How can I know whether a MCU has DFU (USB bootloader)? There's no column for that in the product selector and  - obviously - I can't know it for sure from the datasheet or reference manual (see 1)?3. Is the product selector the only way to know which peripherals are in which MCU's? Or are there any other ways to get to know this?I'm struggling with finding out which peripherals are in which MCU's and I ordered some wrong MCU's allready too.Greetz & thanks,Jan

Hi ST Team,I have completed my first custom board using the STM32H753BIT6, using the H753-EVAL board as a reference. I need to test its external SRAM, SDRAM, Flash, and QSPI, as I have included all the memory components present on the EVAL board. I have chosen the 10.1 " Ronbo 1280x800 (MRG10112) RGB display for my project. but I've to do use another board for lvds or rgb.because I've no pin left in my 208 lqfp h753..so, can any one suggest which external memory is enough for handle 1280*800.@ 16bit.. or is using another MCU for other added sensors is possible to get result.Could you please advise on how to make TouchGFX compatible with this display? Is it possible to create a full GUI in the simulator and later adapt it to the actual display? Any guidance on the best approach to efficiently complete this project would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.Best regards,jr_engr_mbed

Hi, community,I am converting a TI CCS project into STM32 project.In the TI CCS project, a const array is defined in the file array.c, e.g.const uint16_t ARRAY[] = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5};and in the main.c, the array is recast asextern uint16_t ARRAY[];and the user can update the array elements without any error, e.g.ARRAY[1] = 3;When I put the files into STM32CubeIDE, the compiler didn't complain about the recast and assignment, but ARRAY[1] = 3;didn't execute correctly. When I trace the variable value in debug mode, the ARRAY[1] = 1.Thanks for reading my post and I look forward to your suggestions and solutions to my question.

I've started using the recently published UM3291 to have smoother workflows with my other acquisition tools There are a few glitches that makes life a little bit more annoying than it should be.- The first one beeing the prompt "stlp >", which has to be filtered out. A disable prompt would save some code.Especially when using command during ascii streaming where it prefixes a measurement when sending a command like targrst.- The new line configuration works better when setting CR or LF rather than CR+LF. Otherwise, there is one blank line after each line with content.- The table 28 gives ascii data format. The example does not match that format.According to the table, the lenght is always 8 characters. The example is 7 character long. The byte 6 is missing (-7, instead of -07).- There should be a response pattern : [ack|error] [command] : [response]. Some commands do not match such a pattern, like whoami, echo, pwrend. Status command do match, but it does not appear clearly.- T

Hi, I want to connect an external RAM through the FMC interface to my STM32H753ZI controller. I am making a board that is adapted to ZIO connectors in the KICAD software and the problem is that PIN PF12 can only be connected from ST morpho connector or can be soldered from (SB37) the problem is that it can only be changed to PIN PF4 which is also part of the FMC interface. In the pin diagram on the Mbed.com website I actually see that there is a pin called PF12 and it is in the ZIO connectors. Is it possible to connect only through the ZIO connectors?

I am using the Nucleo-STM32H723ZG board and I'm trying to set up a maximally reactive UDP/TCP communication channel between the board and an external node.Just to use a common ground, lets take as an example project the LwIP_UDP_EchoServer. If I send a message to the board and monitor the time it takes to receive the reply, it's over 1 millisecond. I tried to isolate the slow part and couldn't find it: I inserted a pin toggle inside the udp_echoserver_receive_callback, at the start and at the end; the time it takes to execute this function is around 11 microseconds. Nevertheless, the delay between the request and the echo reply, in wireshark, is more than 1 millisecond. I followed the function calls down to the HAL_ETH_Transmit and couldn't understand what may cause this long delay. It is a blocking function and my understanding is that HAL_ETH_Transmit returns when the DMA has finished transmitting the data. Could you please provide any hint about what may cause th

Hi, I am using L978s sensor with SPI communication. Frame count bit should be toggling in every frames while receiving. I transfer first frame 0x5280001F to read STATUS5 register. I get response as 0x40800021. I send second frame by toggling frame count and updating CRC. But I get same response 0x40800021. The response from the chip always have frame count 1. It is supposed to toggle. Not seeing any communication error being set in the response. Can you please support to find the cause of this error? Thanks in advance.

Hello all,I am trying to implement an external loader for my board. Which uses a W25M02GV (QSPI NAND FLASH)I am following the https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-external-loaderI am trying to configure an STM32L4 to use this memory in mapped-mode, but I didn't understand how memory-mapped works for the underground. At least I didn't found any doc that explains it.As I am understanding from its datasheet, this memory doesn't have any read command with the page address that outputs the content.It seems necessary to use 2 commands: The first one (13h) receives the page address and then gets the page content in an internal buffer. Then afterward, a second command reads it from this buffer (there are a continuous mode, which at the end of the buffer continue from the next page and so on)But, it seems that when configuring the memory-mapped mode it needs a single read command with a page address to work?Thanks =)

hi,I use SAI interface for reading data  by M4 core in stm32mp157Only  in debug M4 mode(M4 is running and A7 isn't running),the read can success.When A7 core is running, the read will be failed(A7 is running ,but SAI is used by M4). when a7 is running.Using HAL_SAI_Receive , time out will bu return .Using HAL_SAI_Receive_DMA ,busy will be return .in device tree ,sai is disable
