Hi everyone!I have some questions related to the STM32F407 board and CAN protocol  Does the STM32F407 have an integrated CAN transceiver? If yes, how can I identify it in schematics and where can i find the schematics? If no, what external peripheral should I use to integrate one? Does the STM32F407 support CAN FD? I want to use loopback mode to get started with the CAN protocol, but I don’t know where to begin. How should I proceed?

While I use the STM32H743VIH6 FMC to drive the ST7789V TFT-LCD via a 16-bit 8080 interface, it's quite strange that even though I only send a half-word, the result is that it sends fourcode isbut when I send like *(volatile uint64_t *)0x61000000 = 0xAAAABBBBCCCCDDDD;the signal looks just like thisI still can't find a way to control FMC to send one half-word....and this is how FMC config/** Perform the SRAM1 memory initialization sequence*/hsram1.Instance = FMC_NORSRAM_DEVICE;hsram1.Extended = FMC_NORSRAM_EXTENDED_DEVICE;/* hsram1.Init */hsram1.Init.NSBank = FMC_NORSRAM_BANK1;hsram1.Init.DataAddressMux = FMC_DATA_ADDRESS_MUX_DISABLE;hsram1.Init.MemoryType = FMC_MEMORY_TYPE_SRAM;hsram1.Init.MemoryDataWidth = FMC_NORSRAM_MEM_BUS_WIDTH_16;hsram1.Init.BurstAccessMode = FMC_BURST_ACCESS_MODE_DISABLE;hsram1.Init.WaitSignalPolarity = FMC_WAIT_SIGNAL_POLARITY_LOW;hsram1.Init.WaitSignalActive = FMC_WAIT_TIMING_BEFORE_WS;hsram1.Init.WriteOperation = FMC_WRITE_OPERATION_ENABLE;hsram1.Init.Wai

I am working on getting a new board design with a STM32MP153F to boot from parallel SLC NAND flash.  The flash chip is 1 GB, using the FMC interface with 16-bit I/O.  What happens when writing flash via STMCubeProgrammer is the first 2160 bytes of each page are written correctly, but after that byte 2160 is repeated until the end of the page, including through the OOB part of the page.  The page size is 4096 + 256 bytes. As an example, I tried programming ARM Trusted Firmware at the beginning of flash.  If I read back a page from u-boot using the nand dump command, the first 2160 bytes match exactly what is in the file.  The remaining 2192 bytes will contain the same byte, whatever byte #2160 was.  This happens for every page written.  I get the same result if I write a page from the u-boot prompt using the nand write command. For the device tree setup, I am following the STM32MP157A-EV1 as an example.from the output from "nand info", the u-boot fl

Hi all,I'm having problem implementing a function to change the baudrate during runtime. I've read all the other topics about it and tried the proposed solutions but couldn't get it to work, maybe I missed something.I use DMA for the UART which might also change the way things have to be handled. Here's my code, basically a copy of the MX_USART1_UART_Init function:  void MX_USART1_ChangeBaudRate(uint32_t baudrate) { while (__HAL_UART_GET_FLAG(&huart1, UART_FLAG_IDLE) == SET) { // wait for UART to be idle } huart1.Init.BaudRate = baudrate; if (HAL_UART_Init(&huart1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } if (HAL_UARTEx_SetTxFifoThreshold(&huart1, UART_TXFIFO_THRESHOLD_1_8) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } if (HAL_UARTEx_SetRxFifoThreshold(&huart1, UART_RXFIFO_THRESHOLD_1_8) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } if (HAL_UARTEx_DisableFifoMode(&huart1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } }  I've also tried calling DeInit / MspDeInit before

Hello!New to the STM controllers, failed to realize that PA13 was necessary to connect the debugger and was quite dismayed to realize my mistake after looking to program it as a GPIO. I have tried connecting with the IDE and Programmer alike, both with BOOT0 (PA13) to Vdd and without. My latest attempt is shown below which I found another thread about -- even with PA13 shorted to 3.3V and shorted to GND I see the same result -- have I killed my poor STM? I'm using the NUCLEO-G031J6 while I get accustomed to this microcontroller. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

This is the first time I use STM32cubeIDE ver 1.15.1 . While using it, there are a few operations that need to be logged in. I already have an account in the practice room at school, but when I log in on my personal laptop, I see a box. "Authentication error manage" dialog as shown below  meanwhile my internet connection is completely normal.  and here is my device informationDevice name DESKTOP-4TDRFA4Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz  2.42 GHzInstalled RAM 8.00 GB (7.74 GB usable)Device ID 996C43EE-CF99-4860-A14A-D9B1A6AE213AProduct ID 00356-24555-97786-AAOEMSystem type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorPen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display I don't know how to fix the above situation, I hope someone can assist me as soon as possibleIt would be better if you guide me with pictures or videos, my English is not very good, please understandYou can contact me via 22200165@student.hcmus.edu

I've been diving in various rabbit holes and I've come to the issue of alignment and pointers. Thus, I enabled -Wcast-align. It has flagged the HAL for the ADC DMA startup here static uint16_t adc_buffer[ADC_BUF_SIZE]; HAL_ADC_Start_DMA(hadc, reinterpret_cast<uint32_t*>(adc_buffer), 6);This is due to the fact that my buffer is a 1/2 word array but this DMA function accepts only a word array. Yet, I've told the DMA that I am using 1/2 words so it knows how to perform the access. And I think this type of cast will be OK even for alignment issues since 16 bit access will always be aligned on 16 bit or 32 bit buffers. So is this a case of knowing that it should be fine and disabling the warning here?

I upgraded my MacBook computer and installed the latest STM32CubeIDE 1.17 like many other people reporting the new warning that has appeared with the 12.3 toolchain.  I have an STM32F413 project I have been working on for a few years which uses an RTOS and TouchGFX (if it matters).  I followed the "fix" in the other posts about updating the linker file to the latest version.  The Debug build no longer has the warning so that is great. The issue is with the Release build.  Any optimization setting other than None causes the warning which the Release build has a size optimization enabled.  What is the process to get rid of the error other than supressing it which is not really a "fix"?  I figure the optimization is changing the permissions on the memory regions and overwriting the linker file settings.  Is there a proper method to prevent this?  I am using the latest default STM32F4113VGTx_... linker files for this project.-Tim

Hi, I am using the STM32G0B1CBTx on the STM32CubeMX and setting the I2C1 for SMBus-two-wire-Interface. I want to disable the timeouts but I noticed that when I do so, the clock timeout enable (bit 15 of I2C_TIMEOUTR register) is still high. Looking at the generated timeout value to be written in the register (0x0000830D), it shows that indeed, the STM32CubeMX is enabling the timeout even though I selected Disable. Below is a screenshoot showing this. Is this a bug in MX ?

Dear,I am planning to use an OCXO (Taitien NI-10M-2503) as the external oscillator (HSE) for synchronizing the MCU to a highly accurate clock source. The OCXO provides an RF output with a sine wave swinging between -2V and 2V.According to the STM32H533 datasheet, it appears that the input signal on the OSC_IN pin must not exceed Vdd or fall below Vss. In my case, Vdd is 3.3V, and Vss is ground.I would like to seek your guidance regarding the following:Based on the datasheet, my understanding is that directly connecting the OCXO output to the OSC_IN pin would not work. Could you confirm if this is correct?Would it be necessary to use a circuit such as a bias-T to condition the signal before feeding it into the OSC_IN pin?Are there any example circuits or application notes available for this type of setup? If there are alternative or better approaches, I would greatly appreciate your recommendations.Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your advice.Best regar

Hello,In my project, the initial Bluetooth scanning time (I am using STM32WB5MMG) takes around 10 seconds due to the GAP discovery procedure. Is there a way to reduce it to 5 seconds or less? I have tried adjusting the scan interval and scan window values, but they don't seem to make a difference—the scanning duration remains 10 seconds. Even if I need to manually terminate the scanning midway, I would like to know how to achieve a shorter scan time. Thanks

Hi there,There is the following error in TouchGFX when I try to Generate Code, even for the previous projects that already generated code successfully. I uninstall and reinstall it and try other versions, but it failed again.  the message of the error:Generate Assetsmake -f simulator/gcc/Makefile assets -j8The system cannot find the file specified.FailedFailed

Hi,I'm working on layout routing from STM32MC257AAK(Package: VFBGA424) to LPDDR4 (32bit).I have read the "Memory layout rules" in the App-Note AN5724.For a good LPDDR4 signal timing it is usefull to do a "Line-Length-Matching" on the LPDDR4 signals, as noted in the AN5724.Addidtionally:For calculating a good "Line-Length-Matching" from MCU to the LPDDR4, I want to know the internal line length from die to ball (Package: VFBGA424).Could you please provide the internal line length from die to ball (Package: VFBGA424).Reguards

I want to continuously measure the frequency of signal1 relative to signal2.Signal1 can vary between 1-80 MHz, signal2 between 5-15 MHz.My approach is:Timer1 counts signal1.Timer2 counts signal2 with a counter period of 200. This gives me an event roughly at 10 MHz / 200 = 50 kHz. When this happens, timer1 should be saved to memory (old values can be overwritten) and reset to 0.How do I implement this in STM32CubeIDE? Especially the "one timer triggers reading of the other timer" is not clear to me.

Sometimes I update old replies/post with small corrections (grammar or formatting) or adding additional comments (maybe the solution is outdated for a newer version of a toolchain and I will expand the solution for the newer version, for instance, or updating outdated links). Now I can no longer do that for comments older than a day. The button is missing. For newer posts it does have the button:It's very annoying. Are those new restrictions? What are the exact conditions? Don't tell me my spelling errors are now forever frozen in time and all answers will become outdated and obsolete?

Hi, I'm trying to adapt the SBSFU-Cube repository example for the B-U585I-IOT02A (STM32CubeU5\Projects\B-U585I-IOT02A\Applications\SBSFU, repository V1.7.0) to a custom PCB with STM32U585CITx. Since I don't have access to UART1 I changed it in com.h (both headers) and low_level_com.c to UART2. Also I'm using a J-Link, so I changed the connection configurations in the scripts accordingly. Since I don't have access to the BOOT0-pin I set the option bytes nSWBOOT0=0 and nBOOT0=1. Building the FW and running the scripts works flawless, also an investigation with STM32CubeProgrammer shows, that the binaries (Appli, Boot and Loader) are correct and at the flash-addresses where they are supposed to be. But when I reset the MCU after running SBSFU_UPDATE.sh there is absolute radio silence. Nothing shows on the Tera Term-terminal and also adding logs for Segger RTT viewer doesn't change anything, there's no feedback at all. I re-checked the option bytes, boot addresses, compared the flash

Hi, I'm trying to use only one dsi data lane with OTM8009A which has two data lanes. My MCU is STM32F769I-Eval and manuals said that this MCU has two dsi data lanes. However, I want to use only one data lane because my custom board has only one dsi data lane.I tried to change settings with Examples within F7Cube.In LCD_DSI_Videomode_SingleBuffer, DSI Settings value is in there, so I change NumberOfLanes value two to one, but LCD Display doesn't work.Is there any way to use only one data lane? Thanks.

I'm using a STM32U585AIIxQ. The firmware package is: STM32Cube FW_U5 V1.7.0. CubeMX version is 6.13.0.OCTOSPI1 is configured as Single SPI on port1 and OCTOSPI2 is configured as Quad SPI on port2.After initialisation only the last initialised OCTOSPI works, because HAL_OSPIM_Config() messes up the P1CR and P2CR registers of the OCTOSPIM.This problem was mentioned 2 years ago here: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/stm32-cube-h7-hal-ospim-config-corrupts-previous-port/m-p/126073#M22902and here:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-embedded-software/stm32cubemx-l4-v1-13-0-hal-ospim-config-corrupts-port/m-p/296420Why is this still not fixed?

Hello,I am using STM32H730ZBT6 with STM32 CubeMX V6.12.1 (I am not using the newest version because of the problem related in topic Downgrade STM32CubeProgrammer in STM32CubeIDE. I dont' know exactly if CubeMX would reproduce the problem, but for the case...) and I have detected 2 problems in code generation:1. Eventhough I am using peripheral SDMMC2 the code generated in file "fx_stm32_sd_driver_glue.c" is prepared for SDMMC1. Here a code portion as example: extern SD_HandleTypeDef hsd1; #if (FX_STM32_SD_INIT == 1) extern void MX_SDMMC1_SD_Init(void); #endif 2. If the option "Generate peripheral initialization as a pair of '.c/.h' files per peripheral", some erros ocur because "fx_stm32_sd_driver_glue.c" file doen't know where to find functions and instances, and is necesary to include "sdmmc.h" file. A part of those twoo problems, in functions "void HAL_SD_TxCpltCallback(SD_HandleTypeDef *hsd)" and "void HAL_SD_RxCpltCallback(SD_HandleTypeDef *hsd)" hsd is not used, so

Hi all,I'm trying to put some TouchGFX data (images, text, ...) in an external flash (S25FL128L) on a custom board with STM32H7B0VB mcu. I'm using the octo-spi peripheral as quad-spi.So, I follow the guide to make an external loader and I did it. It seems to work properly: if I load the .stdlr file in the STM32CubeProgrammer I can read, write, erase sector and mass erase the external flash. Also, if I try to debug (STM32CubeIDE) a project using the loader without putting elements into external flash all works and I can see all the memories. The ploblem occur whe I try to put somenthing inside the external flash. I do that in the linker script with TouchGFX sections: IntFlashSection and TextFlashSection. See the script below:/* Entry Point */ ENTRY(Reset_Handler)   /* Highest address of the user mode stack */ _estack = 0x20020000; /* end of RAM */ /* Generate a link error if heap and stack don't fit into RAM */ _Min_Heap_Size = 0x200 ; /* required amount of heap */ _Min_Stack_Size =

Hello everyone.I am currently considering using the STM32H735 AD converter. As shown in the figure, I have inserted a Schottky barrier diode and a 1kΩ resistor just before the ADC terminal pin for overvoltage protection.I was curious about the input impedance of the ADC pin, so I read the specifications, and I was wondering if RAIN corresponds to the input impedance? I will be using a 12-bit ADC, so in this case, will the impedance be MAX680Ω? If so, the signal level will drop, so I will have to reconsider the protection circuit.・What is the input impedance of the ADC pin?・If you are actually using this microcontroller, what type of protection circuit do you use?I would appreciate your advice.

I've been recently trying to implement code to display the time in hours and minutes via the UART terminal. I've run into the issue where the time is inaccurate and increases by a minute every second and am not sure what is wrong with my code. I use the Nucleo L476RG and have PB6 as SCL, PB7 as SDA, PA2 as USART_TX, and PA3 as USART_RX. Here is the clock configuration: Here is the main code: #include "main.h" #include "uart.h" #include <stdio.h> #define DS3231_ADDRESS 0xD0 I2C_HandleTypeDef hi2c1; UART_HandleTypeDef huart2; char msg[100]; void SystemClock_Config(void); static void MX_GPIO_Init(void); static void MX_I2C1_Init(void); static void MX_USART2_UART_Init(void); uint8_t decToBcd(int val) { return (uint8_t)( (val/10*16) + (val%10) ); } // Convert binary coded decimal to normal decimal numbers int bcdToDec(uint8_t val) { return (int)( (val/16*10) + (val%16) ); } typedef struct { uint8_t minutes; uint8_t hour; } TIME; TIME time; // function t
