Hello STM Community,I am designing an internal PCB antenna for LoRa communication using the STM32WL55JCI7 at EU868 frequency. Is a PCB antenna recommended by STM for this chip? If so, what guidelines or procedures should I follow for designing a PCB antenna for LoRa communication? Additionally, what range can I expect with an optimized PCB antenna design?Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!

Hello,I update my computer to MacOs 15.3.1 and I have a similar problem to when MacOs 15 arrived. The St-Link (ST-Link v3 mini) is not detected with Cube IDE (CubeIDE v. 1.17.0).It worked fine in MacOS 15.1.1I've tried starting the IDE as admin and adding the link's path to the path list, but it doesn't work. (https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeide-mcus/stlink-server-with-macos-15/td-p/705089)On the other hand, it is well detected with STM32Programmer.I added the IDE to the development tools in the security tab of the computer settings, just in case the problem came from the fact that apple could have changed the security rules, but that didn't solve the problem.

Hello everyone,I'm currently working with an STM32MP157F-DK2 device, and I need to change the MAC address. I'm building the image using bitbake, but I've encountered an issue when trying to modify the MAC address through OTP cells linkHere’s the output I get when checking the OTP values: STM32MP> fuse sense 0 57 2Sensing bank 0:Word 0x00000039: e17ae710 0000c393 STM32MP> fuse sense 0 58 2Sensing bank 0:Word 0x0000003a: 0000c393 12724303 STM32MP> env print ethaddrethaddr=10:e7:7a:e1:93:c3 STM32MP> fuse sense 0 0x10000039 2Sensing bank 0:Word 0x10000039: 40000000 40000000 As you can see, the current MAC address is 10:e7:7a:e1:93:c3, and the OTP cells are already programmed and locked. I tried to change the MAC address using the fuse prog command, but the OTP cells are locked, and I cannot modify them.Is there any way to change the MAC address on a locked OTP cell? Is it possible to unlock the OTP or reset it somehow?Additionally, I’m building the imag

Hi,this is myproduct code STM32H563VGT6. I am configuring the FDCAN2 module. In particular the bit time using the filed below of the init structure of the HAL handler:hfdcan2.Init.NominalPrescaler (NBRP+1 of register FDCAN_NBTP)hfdcan2.Init.NominalSyncJumpWidth (NSJW+1 of register FDCAN_NBTP)hfdcan2.Init.NominalTimeSeg1 (NTSEG1+1 of register FDCAN_NBTP)hfdcan2.Init.NominalTimeSeg2 (NTSEG1+2 of register FDCAN_NBTP)The protocol (and the ST manual rm481 at page 2542) specify that TimeSeg1 max value is 16, TimeSeg2 max value is 8. In the example FDCAN_classic_frame_example I found this values: hfdcan1.Init.NominalPrescaler = 1; hfdcan1.Init.NominalSyncJumpWidth = 62; hfdcan1.Init.NominalTimeSeg1 = 187; hfdcan1.Init.NominalTimeSeg2 = 62; Seems that these value are out of range.I'm definitely missing something. can someone explain the meaning of the parameters in the example "FDCAN_classic_frame_example" ? Thank you. Regards.

I have designed RFID and I am now trying to deternine the antenna parameters by followingAN4974 Antenna matching for ST25R3911B/ST25R391x devices I have bought NanoVNA-H4 for doing the measurements. But what confuses me is how to connect the RFID antenna. The instructions says:1. Set the measurement mode of the network analyzer to S11 reflection measurement2. Use the Smith chart format (R + jX) to display the impedance curve...Connect the cable of the network analyzer at the antenna ends NanoVNA-H4 has two channels S11 and S21. My PCB has a differential antenna based on this antenna design:https://eds.st.com/antenna/#/ Then I am not sure how I shall connect the two antenna ends to my RFID. I have cut a coax cable and soldered on my PCB:.If I connect one end to S11 and another end to 21 of NanoVNA I get resonable values of @1 MHzSerie inductuance = 1.13 uH@40.543 MHzParallel resistance 2.01 KOhmSelf resonance 40.543 MHz But DC serie resis

Hello i'm starting programming with stm32, i've bought the stm32wb5mm-dk and with stm32cubemx I've tried to configure the board to create a ble ibeacon. So, now i can see the ibeacon from nrf app but isn't showed the name (N/A ibeacon). How can i see the name?I've to change anything?Sorry i'm really new in this field. Thanks

I drew a pcb with antenna and put st25dv on itbut i get read data error on the st appis that st25dv need to program first?or just my soldering is bad? or antenna isnt standard?the antenna is designed as this P.S. I can read the tag by other app call NFC tools(error read and write memory still), but still error with st official appand it is not very sensitive actually , this design should be around 1.1uH in the st nfc inductance simulate. is this good?how to improve?

Hi everyone;I have select; In cube mx -> middleware and software packs -> X Cube Algobuild -> DSP LibraryHowever , there is no dsp libraries in my keil project. And there is no .lib in the folder.I have re-generate for several times, but it did not take effect. Could you help me please, thank's a lot.

Hello, I configured CAN communication between two STM32F446RE boards. The code works in Loopback Mode, but not in Normal Mode. I did not use an external CAN transceiver, as I read that direct communication is possible on the STM32F446RE. What I have tried: CAN initialization is correct, and messages are transmitted successfully in Loopback Mode. In Normal Mode, HAL_CAN_AddTxMessage() returns HAL_OK, but no messages are received. Connected CAN_TX of Board 1 to CAN_RX of Board 2 and vice versa, with a shared GND. Enabled CAN interrupts and checked for errors using HAL_CAN_ErrorCallback(), but none appear.

Hello. I was recently advised that STM32F103C8T6 and STLINK-V3MINIE should be soldered directly without an adapter. VCC with 3V3GND with GND SWDCLK with CLK SWDIO with ?

Hello,  I am trying to setup the CM4 core with lwip+mbedtls working. Actually I get this code working on CM7 but I need to migrate it to CM4. When I run the code the CM4 get a ard fault interrupt. Debuging I can see that this happens in HAL_MPU_Enable in the line SCB->SHCSR |= SCB_SHCSR_MEMFAULTENA_Msk; I thing that this happens because a wrong configuration of memories and/or MPU. I'm not familiar with memory management in microcontrollers and I'm feeling lost. The MPU configuration is: void MPU_Config(void) { MPU_Region_InitTypeDef MPU_InitStruct = {0}; /* Disables the MPU */ HAL_MPU_Disable(); /** Initializes and configures the Region and the memory to be protected */ MPU_InitStruct.Enable = MPU_REGION_ENABLE; MPU_InitStruct.Number = MPU_REGION_NUMBER0; MPU_InitStruct.BaseAddress = 0x0; MPU_InitStruct.Size = MPU_REGION_SIZE_4GB; MPU_InitStruct.SubRegionDisable = 0x87; MPU_InitStruct.TypeExtField = MPU_TEX_LEVEL0; MPU_InitStruct.AccessPermission = MPU_REGIO

Hello,I am having some trouble understanding what bootloader (if any) is installed by ST from the factory for the STM32U5x and what AES key sizes that bootloader supports for secure firmware update. UM2851 only lists AES-CTR-128 (I interpret 128 to be the key size) but mcuboot docs lists support for 256-bit keys.Ultimately, I need to be able to encrypt my software using a 256-bit AES key. Is this possible with STM32U5A5 and the ST provided tooling? If so, is there documentation describing how to achieve this configuration? Thank you

I have an STM32L452 rigged to use an external clock so we can keep the RTC running. Schematic attached.X2 is a clock from SiTime, programmed to be 32.768kHz. C36 is a supercap acting as battery backup. I used STMCube to generate the startup code to feed into HAL_RCC_OscConfig. When I debug into this function, the LSE never becomes ready (RCC_BDCR_LSERDY bit always zero), and so the code returns HAL_TIMEOUT.Do I have the correct circuit? Have I set the clock config correctly? It's the same if I run on a Nucleo board./** Initializes the RCC Oscillators according to the specified parameters* in the RCC_OscInitTypeDef structure.*/RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSI|RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_LSE;RCC_OscInitStruct.LSEState = RCC_LSE_ON;RCC_OscInitStruct.HSIState = RCC_HSI_ON;RCC_OscInitStruct.HSICalibrationValue = RCC_HSICALIBRATION_DEFAULT;RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLState = RCC_PLL_ON;RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLSource = RCC_PLLSOURCE_HSI;RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLM = 2;RCC_OscInit

I have lis2dwt12 sensor and nrf24l01+ sensor. Can i connect these devices on same spi line? i will select different CS pins.Thank you for now.

Hi, Currently we have received our first prototype batch of board with the STM32H7S7Z8J6. There is external flash and ram on the board also, but first we want to try a simple test where we will just use the LTDC interface without touchgfx to make the screen 1 color so we can check this functionality. But it seems like the LTDC interface wont start properly. We can't see any signal on the clock line, Hsync or Vsync lines. Also none of the RGB666 lines is showing any kind of acitvity.  Below is our simple init firmware. What could be the cause of this issue?   /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2025 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root

It only gives the bit and the description: Bit 22 HDRXGNEQEN: Enable HS Rx gain equalizer 0: Disable the gain equalizer 1: Enable the gain equalizer  But what does it actually do? When would you want to use it? Thanks

Hi Everyone,It was recently recommended to me that I enable DMA2D on my project to possibly alleviate another problem that I'm having detailed here (Weird horizontal artifacts in touchGFX buttons - STMicroelectronics Community). My question is, how do I properly set it up? I've read several documents on the DMA2D including How to use Chrom-ART Accelerator to refresh an LCD-TFT display on STM32 MCUs - Application note and 8. Hardware acceleration | TouchGFX Documentation but I'm left scratching my head.If I simple enable DMA2D in MX with my current project without making any code changes like this : Then I get weird distortions on some of my text:I'm also confused as to how I should be changing my code to take full advantage of the DMA2D. In My Mind, my flushFrameBuffer function which looks like this right now void TouchGFXHAL::flushFrameBuffer(const touchgfx::Rect& rect){uint16_t* frameBuffer = getTFTFrameBuffer();setLCDwindow(rect.x, rect.y, rect.widt

Hi,I am using STM32H563ZI to design a new product, there is a SDRAM(W9825G6KH-6) connected to the MCU with 16bit width bus. The SDCLK is 125MHz while the MCU running at 250MHz.  The read and write to SDRAM address space are both OK. But the read write performance is extremely slow, roughly 11MB/s for read and 14MB/s for write. I had configured the MPU and I-Cache/D-cache, The speed is unsatisfied and unbelievable because I had a board with STM32H750 and the same SDRAM (SDCLK running at 100MHz, 16bit bus width), both read and write speed are around 100MB/s with cache on. Could anyone give me some hints?

Hello!I'm using an STM32u5a9 with a user interface and SMBus enabled battery and charger board.CubeMX does not allow me to include both the X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX and X-CUBE-SMBUS libraries. I'm guessing there is some conflict with the I2C or how the HAL handles it?  if I choose X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX first then try to choose X-CUBE-SMBus, CubeMX reports "This component cannot be selected: this application cannot be selected while the application from pack STMicrolectronics.X-CUBE-Touchgfx is selected": I'm wondering is there a way to get around this and use both libraries? It's my first time working with SMBus but I should also be able to configure an i2c bus separate from the one used for touchgfx to handle the smbus communication just without the HAL. Appreciate anyone's input! Thank you!

Hello, I would like to know how to install CubeMX and in which directory should I install it so that STM32CubeIDE can recognize it ? Thank you

Hi,not really an issue here, but I want to understand what goes on in my BLE project.I'm using the B-WB1M-WPAN board, starting out from the BLE_HR_p2pSensor example.I see that my device stops advertising after I connect to it, but I can't find in the code where that happens.I discovered that the functions:Adv_Request (through api_gap_set_discoverable)Adv_Cancel (through api_gap_set_non_discoverable)Are used to start and stop advertising.I also noticed that Adv_Cancel is registered as callback for a task here:   UTIL_SEQ_RegTask(1<<CFG_TASK_ADV_CANCEL_ID, UTIL_SEQ_RFU, Adv_Cancel);  But it seems that Adv_Cancel is never called nor CFG_TSK_ADV_CANCEL_ID is used in a UTIL_SEQ_SetTask call... Nonetheless, by sniffing BLE traffic I see that after a connection my peripheral stops advertising.I tried to look into guides and application notes but I can't find any explanation for this behaviour, can you please help me?
