Hi,I am trying to measure the parameters of an external differential antenna I designed. I have been using the application note AN4974 in order to figure out how I can measure these parameters and I have some confusion on the setup and the results I am receiving so far.I've looked at other posts and the way I understand it is that I should connect my VNA in single-ended mode (ant1 connected to signal and ant2 connected to the shielding/body of my SMA connector). Is this correct?I have taken a measurement of a flexi antenna I would like tuned and I also tried to measure the antenna of the st25r3911b-disco board to verify if I measured the flexi correctly. My issue is that the measurements both look completely different from what I see on the application note. Using other posts as a reference, my antenna looks somewhat similar. although, my values are strange compared to others and the app. note. The first picture is my flexi antenna and the second is the antenna of the st25r39

Hello,in file RegListSTMV2.json I can define custom registers. Most registers have "UpdateFrequency" configured to "MediumFreq".How often is "MediumFreq" polled by Motor Pilot? Is it possible to configure the polling frequency in Motor Pilot? Thanks,

Hello everyone,I am trying to use the Vector Renderer to draw lines because it utilizes GPU2D, which offers faster rendering compared to the Canvas. Below is the code I am using for this purpose: void TestWidget::draw(const touchgfx::Rect& invalidatedArea) const { if (numPoints < 2) { return; // Nothing to draw } VectorRenderer* vectorRenderer = VectorRenderer::getInstance(); // Configure the vector renderer Rect absoluteRect = getAbsoluteRect(); vectorRenderer->setup(absoluteRect, invalidatedArea); vectorRenderer->setMode(VectorRenderer::STROKE); vectorRenderer->setStrokeWidth(lineWidth); vectorRenderer->setColor(lineColor); touchgfx::Matrix3x3 transformationMatrix; transformationMatrix.scale(scale); transformationMatrix.translate(deltaX, deltaY); // Apply the transformation matrix vectorRenderer->setTransformationMatrix(transformationMatrix); // Prepare command and coordinate arrays uint8_t cmds[MAX_POINTS] = {0}; float coords[M

Hi,I have a funny issue. I just wanted to add a Share button to my Main Screen in an STM32TouchGFX of a working Weather Station app but when I built and run the app in STMCubeIDE all the widgets which uses background images showed surprising garbage images. Then I changed the Section and Extra Section to IntFlashSection in Default Image Configuration group of Config menu of STM TouchGFX:Then I rebuilt and run the app and everything worked just fine:Who understands this?I Checked the HSPI configuration in STM32CubeMX but I could not find any wrong settings for octo-SPI, so the external flash memory which stores the images (by default) seems to be okay.In addition any ST Demo which based of TGFX works with external flash settings. What could go wrong? Thanks,Louis

Hi,I’m working on designing a custom board for industrial applications and would like to use the crystal X53T-C20SSA-25.000MHz, which is used in the STM32H7xxI-EVAL board for the LAN8742Ai PHY. However, I can’t find this crystal available anywhere. My questions are:What is the best replacement for industrial use? What capacitor values should be used if the crystal is changed?Additionally, is the ABM8W-25.0000MHZ-8-D1X-T3 a suitable replacement? If so, what capacitor values should be used? Thanks,Mohammed

Hello, From the UM2408 document, the HSE is connected to ST-Link MCO output which is supposed to be 8MHz.When you select Nucleo-H755ZI-Q board, the HSE input is locked to 25MHz. Is it a CubeMX bug or does the MCO clock really 25MHz ?

Hi allI am working with SPI1 on stm32f407vgtx and issue what I am, facing my NSS which internally controlled by SPI is taking more time for goes high even CLOCk has been stopped . my configuration are SPI full duplex 16 bit data clock is 2.6MHZ after prescaled I am transmitting on spi every 10ms task. Please check the screenshot of logic analyzer for further understanding .Note: in the end I have disabled SPE bit  before checking TXE and busy flags.

Hello,I am developing a RAM-based bootloader on STM32H5, to update my firmware application.Application and bootloader resides on different flash areas, and the bootloader code is copied into RAM at startup.[0x8000000 - 0x801FFFF] bootloader[0x8020000 - 0x803FFFF] reserved[0x8040000 - 0x80FFFFF] application First, the bootloader erases all the application sectors.Then the bootloader receives code fragments via fieldbus, and program the flash memory 16 bytes (flash-word) at time, at correctly aligned addresses:int16_t HW_FLASH_Program(uint32_t addr, int32_t len, uint8_t *buff_p) { HAL_StatusTypeDef status; uint8_t flash_word[FLASH_WORD_LEN]; uint32_t aligned_addr; uint32_t offset; uint32_t chunk; HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); while (len > 0) { // back-align the address to 16 bytes aligned_addr = addr & ~(FLASH_WORD_LEN - 1); if ((addr == aligned_addr) && (len >= FLASH_WORD_LEN)) { status = HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_QUADWORD, addr,

Hii working on stm32u083rctx with U0 fw package v1.3.0 and CubeMX 6.15. On CubeMX i initialized lpuart3 in half-duplex mode on PC4 pin. I notice that PC4 is only possible to set as open-drain. I want to select PC4 as push-pull. In function:void HAL_UART_MspInit(UART_HandleTypeDef* uartHandle)if i change PC4 init line form:GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_AF_OD; to:GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_AF_PP;my code is working. I don't known if it is correct configure push-pull when lpuart3 is in half-duplex mode. So i ask if it's safe to do that. Thank you.Best regards.Enrico

"Hello, I am using a NUCLEO-H7A3ZI-Q board. I flashed two programs successfully, but on the third attempt, it stopped flashing because I accidentally forgot to enable Serial Wire Debug. Now, when I connect a charging cable, it shows 'No target found,' and when I connect a data cable, it shows 'No ST-LINK detected.' Please help.

HiI want to use the VL53L5CX on  STSW-IMG035, but I found that the sensor initialization in the source code only supports VL53L7CX and VL53L8CX.I checked the source code of STSW-IMG023 and found some differences in the sensor initialization process, so I can't directly use the code of STSW-IMG035 for VL53L5CX, is that right? But according to the document "GestureEVK_UG.pdf" in STSW-IMG035, it is mentioned that VL53L5CX can be used, and there are many comments in STSW-IMG035 about VL53L5CX(although they may be wrong), so I think that for some reason, the support for VL53L5CX was removed in the B case? How should I use VL53L5CX to develop my gesture recognition cases with STSW-IMG035? Sincerely,Phil

I’m using the STM32L443 in one of my products, and currently, there are around 2,500 units deployed in the field. I’ve been experiencing issues that I believe are related to the firmware programming process during production. The product includes a seven-segment LCD. After programming the firmware and running tests, I noticed that some characters do not display correctly in certain menu screens. I’m confident this is not a hardware issue. Interestingly, when I reflash the firmware on the same board, everything starts working properly — the display shows the correct characters. These are just the visible symptoms. I’ve also observed cases where the firmware seems to get stuck in a specific scenario. For example, there’s a routine that runs every 5 minutes. On the third iteration, the system hangs. Even after a power cycle, it always gets stuck at the same point. However, if I reflash the firmware, the issue disappears. This makes me suspect that the firmware might n

Hello,I’m trying to measure temperature using NTC sensors on four different ADC channels of my STM32 Nucleo‑H7 board. I could previously connect potentiometers to the same pins and get flawless ADC readings with the same code and CubeMX settings. I only added a function to convert NTC readings to temperature and didn’t change any other configuration.I connected the NTCs to PA6, PA7, PC4, and PC5. In my loop, I call HAL_ADC_Start(), then four times HAL_ADC_PollForConversion() and HAL_ADC_GetValue() to retrieve the raw ADC values. When I measure the sensor output directly with a multimeter, I see about 1.65 V, but the ADC reads ~0.03 V, resulting in completely unrealistic temperatures.I never had this issue with potentiometers on the same pins and code. Why am I getting such low readings with the NTCs? Is my channel assignment wrong, the pin mode incorrect, or could hardware jumpers/shielding be affecting it?Has anyone experienced something similar or have suggestions? Thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm working on deploying an MLP model on STM32F746 using X-CUBE-AI. The model was converted from ONNX format, and I’m running into trouble feeding the input features and retrieving the prediction result I want to run inference with the following flow: float input_data[60] = { /* preprocessed features */ };float output_data[1]; // expecting softmax probabilitiesint output_label; // expecting predicted class label My main confusion: I'm unclear on how to actually use the interface generated by Cube.AI: What are the correct steps to initialize and fill the ai_buffer structs? Do I need to manually align my input/output arrays, or use the data_ins[] / data_outs[] generated by default? What is the purpose of macros like AI_HANDLE_PTR(...) and AI_MNETWORK_IN? I tried calling ai_mlp_run(...) like this:   ai_mlp_run(network, ai_input, ai_output); but I get build errors or invalid pointer types   model information : app_X-cube-ai.h:

Hello ST Community,I’m working with the ST25R3911B on a NUCLEO‑NFC08A board and would like to drive a custom differential antenna via two separate coaxial cables. Here is what I’ve done so far and the questions I have:I disconnected the onboard PCB antenna/cable and wired two 40 cm jumpers to the PCB antenna pads. (X-NUCLEO-NFC08A board)I was able to run the reader in differential mode, but significant decrease in Rx power due to impedance mismatch caused by wires. My goal is to design a custom differential PCB antenna and connect it to the ST25R3911B board using coaxial cables, use differential mode to maximize the delivered RF power.1) Dual‑Coax Differential ConnectionI am considering fitting an SMA connector on each of the chip’s RF Output 1 and RF Output 2 pins and likewise two SMAs on my differential antenna. I would then use two 50 Ω coaxial cables to link them. The AN5592 datasheet only shows a single‑ended coax example. Is it acceptable to run the ST25R3911B in true differential m

I'm trying to understand the operation of the STM32F446xx family of microcontrollers. I'm reading the reference manual that's available here: https://www.st.com/resource/en/reference_manual/rm0390-stm32f446xx-advanced-armbased-32bit-mcus-stmicroelectronics.pdf. I'm struggling to understand the timing of how the FMC SDRAM controller reads the data it anticipates and stores them in the FIFO. I have the following questions: 1. On page 313, in the description of the RPIPE bits, it is stated, "These bits define the delay, in KCK_FMC clock cycles, for reading data after CAS latency." Which clock does KCK_FMC refer to? And how are KCK_FMC and SDCLK related? I couldn't find KCK_FMC mentioned anywhere else in the manual. 2. On page 306, it is stated, "The FMC SDRAM controller features a Cacheable read FIFO (6 lines x 32 bits). It is used to store data read in advance DURING the CAS latency period and the RPIPE delay ..." I'm confused as to how data is read DURING the CAS latency

Hi everyone,I'm working with an STM32U5 and using USBX with the CDC-ACM class. My setup is as follows:I have a USBX CDC ACM receive thread that calls usbx_cdc_acm_read_thread_entry() in ux_device_cdc_acm.c file.Alongside, I have a state machine running in another context (main loop). If the device stays idle (no USB activity) for a certain timeout, the state machine puts the MCU into Sleep Mode using:HAL_SuspendTick();HAL_PWR_EnterSLEEPMode(PWR_LOWPOWERREGULATOR_ON, PWR_SLEEPENTRY_WFI);HAL_ResumeTick();The goal is to wake up the MCU only when data is received on the USB.To achieve this, I tried relying on USB interrupts:OTG_FS_IRQn is enabled in NVIC.The USB OTG FS peripheral is initialized properly via HAL_PCD_Init().OTG_FS_IRQHandler() is defined and calls HAL_PCD_IRQHandler()But I'm not getting out from the Sleep mode, I'm completely stuck and running out of ideas. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Tools/Software/etc:SensorTile.box PRO with DATALOG2_Release firmwareSTBLE Sensor app (to trigger data collection)hsdatalog_to_unico.pyMEMS Studio v1.4.1Ubuntu Linux 24.04I watched a handful of webinars and read through tutorials related to the LSM6DSV16X's machine learning core. Most of these covered the basics, but only the basics (as in, they only show the most barebones demonstration with a single sample of a single simple movement). When attempting to generate a decision tree on my own using custom data, I ran into several problems.First, I collected 4 samples of a basic jab motion and labeled the data "strike" and "retract" for each. Everything worked up to the point where I generated the decision tree and got a confidence value of 0%. Then, I attempted to simplify the data and only use one sample of one movement (just the strike component). At this point, I began to see the error below when running the AFS tool. I collected new samples, this time a simpler and slower bicep c

Hi, I'm searching for more details on  STM32F303 ADC Voltage Regulator Function ADVREG. According AN4195 it needs to be enabled before ADC calibration. ADC Regulator is by default disabled. But i cannot see any big difference on ADC conversion results bettween enabled and default (disabled) state of the regulator. I'm using recommended ADVREG enable sequence 10 -> 00 > 01. Thanks!

Hi Team,we are currently developing a product using the STM32U5 series. In our previous version, we used the STM32U5A5VJT6Q, and for size optimization, we have migrated to the STM32U5A5QJI6Q. Both MCUs are functionally similar, and we have updated the pin configurations accordingly. We are successfully reading data from a radar sensor using the new MCU. However, we are facing an issue where the RTOS thread does not stop properly, and the record number reaches its maximum count. Upon comparing the old and new firmware, we noticed that the Configure the Systick function is present in the old version but missing in the new one. We suspect that the absence of this function might be causing the RTOS timing issues. We also found a similar unresolved query on the ST Community forum from 2018 regarding CubeMX and SysTick behavior(CubeMX and SysTick - STMicroelectronics Community). Could you please confirm: If so, what is the recommend

Hello.First of all, thank you for your help.I have a question about UART & debug. When I stop transmitting from the PC while communicating with the PC and then debug, there is no problem. When I stop debugging and resume while transmitting from the PC, the communication fails. When I check the UART related register, it remains in busy state. This problem was previously fixed using stm32cubeide 1.9.0 or 1.17.0, but it has been fixed after changing to 1.19.0. Is there a problem with the installation? Where should I set to solve this problem?Additionally, I opened and checked the old project, and there is no problem with the old project. The IC used to be mainly stm32f103, and this is the first time I am using stm32h743. Is there a problem with the chip parameter settings?

Hi there,I would like to control WS2812B LEDs with a PWM timer and DMA.There are various tutorials on this, but they have not helped me and I am now asking you. Because it requires slightly different configurations depending on the model (F3, F4, G4, G0), I'm a bit overwhelmed.I start a DMA transfer, wait for the last pulse with an interrupt and stop the DMA transfer. So far so good in theory. I still have problems with the implementation.Even the simplest DMA example without WS2812B protocol does not work for me.Clock SYSCLK/HCLK: 170 MHzTIM1 CH4 configuredPrescaler: 170-1 => 1 MHZCounter Preiod: 100-1 => 10 kHzDMAMemory -> PeripheralData Width: Word (32 bit)6 PWM pulses (= 600 us) should be sent outTIM1 Mode + ConfigurationDMA SettingsSource:TIM_HandleTypeDef htim1; DMA_HandleTypeDef hdma_tim1_ch4; /* never used?! */ uint32_t data[] = { 30, 80, 20, 60, 10, 50 }; void HAL_TIM_PWM_PulseFinishedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { HAL_TIM_PWM_Stop_DMA(&htim1,
