Hello,I am currently working with STM32 Cube IDEVersion: 1.18.1Build: 24813_20250409_2138 (UTC) When I try to create a new project I select the processor and click next. Then the setup dialog appears (as usual).But in the targeted device selection the STM32Cube IDE project is not selectable:  Consequently I get no .ioc file after creating the project. Things I already tried:1. Restart IDE2. UpdateHelp > Manage Embedded Software PackagesUnder STM32Cube MCU Packages, install the firmware for your MCU series (e.g., STM32F4).3. restart IDE with -clean optionIn a bash I usedSTM32CubeIDE -clean Nothing helped. What can I do? regardsAlexander

Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a low-power embedded system that uses an STM NFC Dynamic Tag (such as the ST25DV series) in a passive NFC setup. The goal is to harvest energy from the RF field generated by an ST25R3916B NFC reader (13.56 MHz, ISO 15693 / NFC Forum compatible).I’m trying to find concrete information about the amount of power (in mW or mA at a given voltage) that can realistically be harvested by the tag under optimal or typical conditions (e.g. at a short distance of a few cm). However, I haven’t found precise figures in the datasheets or application notes — most just say “energy harvesting supported” or give vague hints.Specifically, I’d like to understand:What are the typical and maximum output currents/voltages that can be harvested from the energy harvesting (EH) pin on STM dynamic tags (e.g. ST25DV04K or ST25DV64K)?Are there any absolute limits or practical guidelines for how much power can be supplied to external circuits through the EH pin?Are there differen

I'm currently evaluating an embedded linux system for a specific use-case with my company.What's necessary is a lot of specific interfaces, like MIPI-DSI/DisplayPort/HDMI, USB HS (+PHY) and the standard RAM and other peripherals. I've found the STM32MP257FAK3, or more specifically the Discovery Board STM32MP257F-DK from ST to be sufficient for my task and would like to keep working either with it directly or with something very similar - that's where the issue starts.In ST's license agreement, the commercial use of a DISCO board is prohibited, so buying them directly from ST and using them as components in their designated machines is not an option.Out of curiosity, I've used the publicly available BOM and manufacturing files for the DISCO board for a lower-volume quotation, just to see where a custom and perhaps reduced board would get me - let's just say a very popular pcb manufacturer would like 3.5k for 5, yes, 5 boards. The components make up for most of the cost, but buried

Hello, I’m trying to drive LEDs using all four PWM channels of TIM8 on a NUCLEO‑H755ZI, but I’m running into this issue:CH1 (PC6) and CH2 (PC7): When I measure with a multimeter, I see the expected voltage fluctuations/average corresponding to the configured frequency and duty cycle.CH3 (PC8) and CH4 (PC9): I’ve removed the LEDs and measure the pins directly with a multimeter; they always read 0 V. I’m attaching the project archive, which includes the CubeMX .ioc file, tim.c , gpio.c , the driver layer, and all HAL settings. I’d appreciate any suggestions or insights you might have. Thanks in advance!

Hi @Jocelyn RICARD,im trying to enable the secure user memory on my custom bootloader for  STM32H755 and STM32H7B3 MCUs.The bootloader is on the first bank and the app on the second bank. The secure user memory is enabled successfully on bank 1 but jumping on Bank 2 with the follwing instruction works. But the debug port is not reopened before jumping to the application. I can see that the app is running (through a blinky led) but i cannot attach using cube programmer in hotplug mode:RSS_API->exitSecureArea(userAppAddress, RSS_ENABLE_JTAG_AT_EXIT);My question is, what is the value of RSS_ENABLE_JTAG_AT_EXIT ? Is it mcu dependent?The reference Manual does not give any info about the value of the macro:Could you help?Thank you!@VPanc.1 , @gpeh, @Fred , @Tesla DeLorean

Hello, I flashed into WB55 FUS 2.1 and Wireless Stack V1.23. Then flashed BLE_p2pServer_reference.hex for an evaluation. But nothing happened. The device is not discovered. What is the problem? Something happened with the option Bytes after the upgrade?

Hi everyone,I'm currently working on a project involving batteryless NFC sensors that rely on energy harvesting for their power supply. In this setup, the ST25R3916B is used as the NFC reader and is responsible for generating the RF field.The idea:The ST25R3916B actively emits the RF fieldA passive NFC sensor harvests energy from this field via its VOUTThe sensor performs lightweight tasks such as measurements or data transmission, powered entirely by the harvested energyMy questions:Is the ST25R3916B suitable for providing enough energy via RF for passive NFC sensors in such harvesting applications?Does the antenna design need special tuning to support stable energy transfer over 1–2 cm distance?Has anyone successfully powered NFC sensors drawing 5–10 mA continuously via the ST25R3916B field?Does this also work with a single-ended antenna design (e.g., using just TX1), or is a differential (TX1+TX2) configuration required for energy harvesting?Can this work with a 50 Ohm matched anten

Hello,From my understanding in FreeRTOS, there is a defined highest priority one should set for interrupts whose ISRs may call RTOS APIs (configMAX_SYSCALL_INTERRUPT_PRIORITY).For the same reasons, I would expect ThreadX to have a similar limitation, and to that extent I have found other ST forums posts suggesting one should set lower priorities for any interrupts whose ISRs may call RTOS APIs, but I can't find any documentation that explicitly states what the highest safe/allowable priority is, similar to FreeRTOS.How do I know what's the highest interrupt priority I can safely set in such cases? Is there any documentation from ThreadX that I'm missing, because I can't seem to find any mention of this.For context, I am using a U5 series MCU and I want to call queue related APIs in my CAN Rx callback.

I have the following clock tree for STM32L471I am using TIM2 as trigger for DAC, ADC1, and ADC2 at 2.4MHz. Clock frequency of TIM2 is 48MHz with a counter value of 19 and prescaler = 0.With oscilloscope, I confirmed that the DAC is generating the signal at 2.4MHz sampling frequency.The ADC1 and ADC2 are running in dual mode with single DMA channel. The following is the ADC configuration/* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file adc.c * @brief This file provides code for the configuration * of the ADC instances. ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2025 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE file comes with this software, it is provided AS-IS. * ******************************

Hello ST Community,I’m facing a persistent issue while creating a new STM32 project using STM32CubeIDE, and I need some technical support.Problem Description: version 1.19When I create a new project, the .ioc file is not generated.The "Target IDE / Toolchain" field shows as empty (not STM32CubeIDE).Because of this, the project does not build or open properly in the IDE.I have selected the correct microcontroller, like STM32F103C8T6, but the problem still occurs.Steps I followed:Opened STM32CubeIDEFile → New → STM32 ProjectSelected correct MCUGave a valid project nameBut the project doesn’t target STM32CubeIDE and no .ioc file is createdWhat I tried:I updated STM32CubeIDE to the latest version, but the issue still exists.I tried restarting the IDE and creating the project multiple timesI checked toolchain settings, but nothing seems to be fixing itWhat I need help with:Why is STM32CubeIDE not generating the .ioc file or setting itself as the target toolchain?Is there any way to fix or c

hello everyone , When I create a new project in STM32CubeIDE (version: 1.17.0), the .ioc configuration file is not generated in the project directory. Here’s what I’ve tried:Project Type:Created via File > New > STM32 Project (using the STM32 Project Wizard).Selected my MCU/board .Expected Behavior:A .ioc file should appear in the project root after setup (enabling peripheral/clock configuration).Actual Result:Only standard project files (e.g., Core/, Drivers/, .project) are generated. No .ioc file exists.I cannot open/configure the project in STM32CubeMX.

Hi,I recently purchased the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 and the NUCLEO-F411RE boards. I have successfully run the example application (`PollingTagDetect`) provided in the X-CUBE-NFC6 software expansion on this platform. Moving forward, I would like to develop additional programs based on this platform for testing purposes. However, I have encountered some issues and questions, and I would greatly appreciate your guidance:1. Is there a more straightforward tutorial available that explains how to use the relevant libraries? While X-CUBE-NFC6 provides documentation, the extensive and complex nature of the documents makes it difficult to identify the key points. 2. What is the relationship between X-CUBE-NFC6 and RFAL? It is clear that X-CUBE-NFC6 includes RFAL, but what are the differences and advantages of developing with X-CUBE-NFC6? I noticed that RFAL seems to provide more intuitive guidance (https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um2890-rfnfc-abstraction-layer-rfal-stmicroelectronics.p

I am developing using X-Cube-Matter v1.4.0.I imported the BLE_Ota project onto MDK Arm and built it, but the following error occurred and I was unable to compile it.../Core/Src/app_entry.c(28): warning: In file included from...../STM32_WPAN/app\app_thread.h(30): error: 'stm32wbxx_core_interface_def.h' file not found30 | #include "stm32wbxx_core_interface_def.h" Please tell me the cause.

Dear STMicroelectronics Support,I am currently using STM32CubeIDE version 1.16.0 and facing an issue during project creation. The STM32Cube project option remains greyed out, regardless of the MCU or board selected (e.g., STM32L476RGT6, STM32H747I-DISCO).Even if I proceed with the "Empty" project type, the .ioc file is not generated, and the CubeMX interface does not open.I have already tried the following steps:-Verified that STM32CubeMX is installed and integrated-Switched to a new workspace-Fully uninstalled and reinstalled STM32CubeIDE v1.16.0Despite these efforts, the issue still persists.I have attached an image below for your reference.Please advise on how to resolve this issue or provide guidance on any known fixes.Thank you for your support.Best regards,Sai Ganesh CSZettaone Technologies

Hello,I am using TouchGFX with freeRTOS on an STM32G0 board.I call the touchgfxSignalVSync through a Timer Interrupt and quickly after I get an HardFault in the blitCopyARGB8888 function. As this is a library I cannot debug further. I am trying to go around the issue by increasing the stack size (24*3072 = 73728 bytes) but this does not fix the issue. Commenting the draw function in the touchgfxDisplayDriverTransmitBlock function does not help either.Doing a step by step debug, I see that the load looks to be the issue where the address 0x2000cXXX is loaded.  Let me know if you need any more information.Thanks! if (htim->Instance == TIM4) {touchgfxSignalVSync();}

Hello everyone ! I use the stm32mp257f-dk with yocto for a project. To benchmark my programs, I need kinda heavy packages. To solve my IMAGE_ROOTFS_MAX issue, I followed the following topic : https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mpus-embedded-software-and/increasing-the-rootfs-size-on-a-stm32mp157f-dk2/m-p/205665Unfortunatly, even if the distro compile, I have the following warning at the end of my compilation (see screenshot below).My configuration is the following :- local.confROOTFS_PARTITION_SIZE = "12582912"IMAGE_ROOTFS_MAXSIZE = "12582912"I tried to add the in /meta-st/meta-st-stm32mp/conf/machine/include/st-machine-common-stm32mp.inc too, but i don't have more results.I don't have any more idea to solve the issue. All the help is welcome !

Good day folks!I trust you are well.Do you know where I can find the example that was used to take the VENC power measurements as outlined on this Wiki page ?I can't seem to find it under the Applications and Examples in the STM32CubeN6 v1.2.0 Specifically I want to see how the part was configured to support the 1080p resolution.Warm regards

I am designing a system with an STM32 and an FPGA(Xilinx 7 series).STM32 is in charge of the user interface and the FPGA is in charge of driving the LCD to show images.Information needs to be exchanged between the STM32 and the FPGA. (STM32 send a command to the FPGA to choose which image to display or to stop displaying. STM32 also need to write all logs to the SD card through the FPGA. FPGA needs to report to the STM32 how many images are displayed and how many remain.)After some research, I found SPI seems to be fast and easy to implement.(I am not sure which interface is commonly used for communication between STM32 and FPGA?). I wonder if there is another interface that is faster or easier to implement?

I am trying to work on STM32F439ZIT6 using its respective Nucleo board. I am not able to generate an ioc file even after installing the latest version 1.28.2 in STM32F4 series. Why is this happening and how can i resolve this issue?RegardsavbST

Hi,I encountered the following problem on two different computers with different versions of STM32CubeIDE. I select File->New->STM32 Project, then i select MCU or Board and click to Finish. Then pops up window called "STM32 Project" to fill up project name. Usualy there is "next" button to select another features, like which CubeFW version to use etc. But now, the "next" button is greyed out. Probably due field called "Target Project type" with greyed out option "STM32 Cube". When i hit "finish" button, IDE creates empty project without ioc file - in other words it does not open CubeMX to configure project.I am not aware of interfering with the IDE in any way (plus I observed it on two independent PCs). I am including screenshots.Thanks,MichalVersion of CubeMXCubeFW is actualEmpty projectmissing option to use Cube

Hi, gents,     I have some need to use SPI slave mode instead of working SPI master mode.     I'm tranferring 22 16-bit words from Infineon slave board at 6Mhz clock rate, once per 100 ns, and have 4-line interface including CS line. Due to noisy lines I prefer to reset communication before each 22x16 bit transfer.     The picture is attached - the 4th line represents CS signal, the 2nd line - data sent from STM32, line 3 is zero as zeros are sent.     After some attempts to write the code I came to solution, when I'm attaching a low-priority EXTI interrupt to SPI5 NSS pin (PF6 GPIO pin), and this interrupt has the following code (this code worked OK for master mode):if (GPIO_Pin == GPIO_PIN_6) { if (hspi5.State != HAL_SPI_STATE_READY) { HAL_SPI_DMAStop(&hspi5); } HAL_StatusTypeDef td = HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA(&hspi5,(uint8_t*)spi2CAT, (uint8_t*)CAT2spi, CAT_PACK_SIZE*(sizeof(int32_t)/2)); tdd = td; SPI_cnt++;

Hi, I'm creating a new project in STM32CubeIDE 1.19.0, but the .ioc file is not being generated. Online sources suggest it might be due to the FPU not being initialized. Only the files shown in the second picture are being created.

ST Documentation describes how to determine prior gains of Current PI controllers. My doubts are:1. Will these gains work for all load conditions? How to tune them under varying load conditions? What is the documentation/process related to it, please share?2. How is Motor Control Workbench auto calculating PI Gains for Speed Controller Regulator? Please share documentation/formulas related to it. Official documentation is only about Current PI controllers gains determination. Thank you for your time and support.
