Posted on July 22, 2016 at 10:28Hi, since the WWDG of the STM32L0 series can be deactivated only by a hardware reset I don't understand the purpose of the function HAL_WWDG_DeInit in the HAL (v1.7.0). The function and its description suggest, that I can call it to stop the WWDG. Best regards, Markus #hal #stm32l0 #wwdg

Posted on April 26, 2016 at 17:05Hi, for our application we must use an off-board antenna, which will be a PCB antenna and will be connected via coaxial cables to CR95HF IC. As I see it, the matching components should be located on the antenna side (on PCB) and on the CR95HF and host MCU should be just the connectors straight to the Rx1, Rx2, Tx1, Tx2 lines. Am I correct? does it sounds right to connect both PCB's by those 50 ohms coax cables? And a not related questions- 1. why there are two Rx inputs and two Tx outputs in the IC? 2. which i/f is used in the CR95HF Demo board, SPI or UART? Thanks! Ram #cr95hf

Posted on April 26, 2016 at 13:18Hello,I'm currently starting to add the CR95HF to one of our projects and I'm not sure, which library is recommended to use.The project itself is using the STM32-HAL drivers for hardware access (and it should stay this way!). The controller is a STM32F071 and the interface is SPI.The whole thing gets a bit more interesting, as we are going to connect 2 CR95HF to the chip - so ideally the library *should* support this (or should be easy to switch between 2 chips). What I've found so far: stsw-stm32031 Seems to be based on the std-periph-lib and implements this directly in the library-code --> selection of the SPI is made through a macro only.stsw-stm8017 The library used in AN3985 for stm8 controller. Seems to be abstracted relatively clear by some functions for spi-access. But it looks like there is only *normal* support for 1 chip with this library as well (could be made multi-chip enabled by a switcher-function).Is there anything else I should take

Posted on May 19, 2016 at 10:47I am currently developing NFC-powered device, based on Arduino and M24SR02 dynamic NFC tags. https://github.com/rena2019/ArduinoM24SR was chosen for establishing communication between Arduino and M24SR, and it works pretty fine with short NDEF messages. But I have noticed strange behavior, when reading  long NDEF messages. After reading ST documentation following questions appeared:1) What is the purpose of DID field ?2) Is it necessary to answer to S(WTX) ?3) Who an when can send S(WTX) command?Any help will be appreciated.

Posted on June 04, 2016 at 01:37 I developed a board using STM32F411 chip with uSD card. The code is generated by cubemx. only add a little bit code in main(). The hardware is OK. I can correctly write a file to sd card. But the weird thing is that the filename accepts 7 chars, not 6 chars. If I use 6 chars in the filename, the character encoding is totally different. In the testing I only change the filename. I attached two files generated by the chip. I can't read the first the characters in the first file. The problem is the encoding of the files are different. the thing is why the encoding are different. I didn't change anything. Actually I use ANSI in the setting. My question is 1. why the program uses two different encodings for the files just because I use different filenames? The file with 7 chars in filename always uses utf-8 encoding. 2. how to correctly set the encoding. Actually in the file I specify it to use ANSI enc

Posted on May 19, 2016 at 21:44The LowPassFilter code seems to be producing transients whenever the cutoff frequency changes rapidly from fully open (1.0f) to fully closed (<0.04f).Is there a way to debug the operations of the processors hardware FPU? I can't seem to understand where or how these spikes are happening? I am currently using Keil to compile, maybe there is another compiler that has a debugger for debugging the CPU's internal hardware FPU?If anyone has any ideas or comments, please let me know. Posted on May 25, 2016 at 23:11I'm trying to use CubeMX to generate code for a STM32L4 Discovery board.  I'm trying to get a virtual com port working over the user usb port, not the usb st-link.  I can't manage to get this to work.  I have the drivers installed on my PC host, and it recognizes the st-link as a VCP, but not the user usb port. In my CubeMX project I have enabled the USB_DEVICE as a Communication Device Class (Virtual Port Com).  I've also enabled USART3, and set up the solder bridges per the user manual (SB24 and 25. What am I missing?  Is there an existing example for the STM32L4? #vcp #stm32l4-discovery-usb

Posted on April 26, 2016 at 08:50Hi, As per UM1749 User Manual  (Description of STM32L0 HAL and Low-layer drivers) the Low Level API should be found in: ''The Low Layer files are located in the same HAL drivers folder'' Figure 8: Low Layer driver folders'' Unfortunately there is no STM32l0xx_ll_.... files in this package. Where can I find them? Thanks, Bogdan

Posted on May 11, 2016 at 23:00Hi,I'm interested in password protecting the GPO toggle via RF. In other words, configuring the GPO to toggle via an RF StateControl command but password protecting this memory location so that the state can only be changed with the appropriate password.I thought this would be possible via the NDEF file password protection (that the password protection would extend to the system file) but I now fear this may not be the case. Can anyone verify or refute this before I invest too much time trying to get it to work? Thanks! #password #gpo #m24sr

Posted on April 20, 2016 at 18:37Hi All,I would like to reprogram the M24LR Discovery board to re purpose the I2C input to use as a connector for an external  1-Wire Interface sensor (DS18B20). can anyone identify any issues with doing this?Furthermore does ST provide a download for the original firmware/program uploaded onto the STM8L152C6T6 incase i would like to restore the original program after modifying it? #i2c #esensor #m24lr #1-wire

Posted on June 06, 2014 at 05:47Hi all,I am using a ST NFC chip : M24LR16E in my products and I noticed some incompatibility with Smartphones of the market (Samsung S4, S5, Nexus 4)I have made some research and I found that these phones were using a Broadcom NFC chip (BC20794) which is not compatible with some NFC chips in the product. It depends on the type of NFC tag used. (Most of existing products has Mifare Classic 1k tag and it is just compatible with NXP chip equiped phones). In fact the M24LR16E has ISO15693 standard, which is the same standard as in the NXP NFC chips of the Smartphones (PN544, PN65N...). Whereas the ISO standards in the Broadcom chips are ISO 18092, ISO14443 (from NFC Forum type 1-4 tags)...So the problems comes from this different type of NFC tags technology (Mifare Classic 1k vs NFC Forum Type 1-4)? Or is it coming from the application?Do someone has the same problems? Do we need to change the M24LR16E chips?Thank you for your answersRegards #nfc #comp

Posted on March 04, 2016 at 09:19 I worked with stm32f373. To reduce power consumption I change the Hclk to 24Mhz and 48Mhz System clock. (use AHB prescaler to /2) But I confused by flash setting. reference manual said that the latency is 000: Zero wait state, if 0 < SYSCLK? 24 MHz 001: One wait state, if 24 MHz < SYSCLK ? 48 MHz 010: Two wait sates, if 48 < SYSCLK ? 72 MHz but the st library source code said that the latency is choosed by Hclk  not system clock what is correct? and what should I consider when the sys clk different with Hclk ? #stm32

Posted on February 27, 2016 at 02:42 Hi, I have downloaded the source code for the ST25 demo Android app (1.0.2), and have found a bug with the SendInterrupt command inType4Tagm24sr7816STCommands.java: // SendInterrupt command // On receiving the SendInterrupt command the M24SR generates a negative pulse on the GPO pins // /!\ System file shall be selected by issuing the System Select command before static final byte[] m24sr7816STSendInterrupt = new byte[]{ (byte) 0xA2,(byte) 0xD6, // CAS , INS (byte) 0x00,(byte) 0x01, // P1 , P2 (byte) 0x00 }; However, P2 should be 0x1E as per M24SRxx datasheets. Posted on February 24, 2016 at 08:57Hi all, I'm using a M24SR memory connected by I2C bus to a Freescale M0 microcontroller. Given that the free space for the firmware is very little, I have problems integrating the ST library for reading and writing access to the NDEF files. So, I was wondering if it was possible to access the EEPROM memory directly without using the ISO-DEP protocol, but accessing to the locations of the EEPROM memory with standard I2C command. In my firmware I only have to access to a NDEF text file for reading and read the first 10 bytes of this file. So I ask you: Can I access in reading mode to any location of the EEPROM memory bypassing the state machine of the device? If yes, how can I find the starting address of the file that I previously wrote?Thank you all in advance Daniele #read-access #m24sr #eeprom

Posted on December 08, 2015 at 01:22The default configuration has 1 NDEF file that occupies the entire memory. Is it possible to slice up the memory between 2 or more NDEF files?  If more than one file can be created, what is the maximum number of files that on tag can accommodate? Is that 15 (inferred from SELECT command)? #ndef-st25ta64k

Posted on February 02, 2016 at 13:48Hello.How do I know that my design is good enough for all kinds of phones? We have the PCB inside a cabinet, where the phones can max be as close as 3-4cm to the antenna, (a PCB-antenna and a M24LR). How do we verify that we fulfill some kind of standard (in the receiving form). If we test with 1 or 2 phones, how do we know that all other phones on the marked (and future phones) will be able to work as well?Do it exist some kind of reference “device? (that we can buy), that guarantee that if it works with this, then it will work with all phones. All phones MUST be stronger then this reference to fulfill the standard…. Something like this. J
