Hi,I have a system that is packed entirely. I have only a USB port and reset pin for my access. Now, How can I move the controller from In-Application Programming mode to In-System Programming mode?

Hi all,I'v developed a board with my microcontroller and one VL53L1X-SATEL - Breakout board that came with my X-NUCLEO-53L1A1 kit. I use a 3v battery for the board without regulator and 1K pull-up for the I2C line(100khz).I use the VL53L1X ULD API files for the initialisation and the one shoot ranging measurement. After the initialisation (SetDistanceMode=short, SetTimingBudgetInMs = SetInterMeasurementInMs = 20mS) of the VL53L1X my CPU go to sleep mode and the current consumption is 6uA, every 30s my CPU wake up start measurement (StartRanging, CheckForDataReady, GetDistance, ClearInterrupt, StopRanging) consumption=14mA, the Distance value is ok and go to Sleep again.All works like I expected, BUT every time I change the battery or I do a reset to my CPU, if there is no target in front of the VL53L1X, after the initialisation phase (sleep mode) the current consumption is 3mA (expected 6uA) and every 30s the CPU wake-up send a good distance measurement and go to sleep with 3

Hello Support,I have application in wjhich i have to sense current for negative supply. specifications are as below.Negative supply voltage range( at RS- pin) : -5 V to -2 VCurrent range that needs to be sensed: 0.1 uA to 20uAThe output of OPAMP needs to be read by 10 bit ADC of controller. we have one application note AN4451 in which it shows nA range. but in our application the voltage is negative so please guide regarding that or suggest some part number.Thanks

Hello,I'm using the mems II2SMDC from where I get X, Y and Z values.I set ODR to 100Hz, COMP_TEMP_EN to 1 and MD_CONTINOUS to 1 for CFG_REG_A (note that low power is disable)I set DRV_IIS2MDC_LPF to 1 for CFG_REG_BI set DRV_IIS2MDC_BDU to 1 for CFG_REG_CI also enable offset cancelation (DRV_IIS2MDC_OFF_CANC) in CFG_REG_B because otherwise values are completly random / wrong.I'm using X and Y to get an angle on the plan (X, Y) using atan2.(In fact I'm using X and Z because I attached the mems to a door to detect opening, closing but it does not matter)My algorithm is a lot inspired from this post : https://arduino.stackexchange.com/questions/18625/converting-three-axis-magnetometer-to-degrees)Here is my function which converts from X, Y and Z raw values to angles in degrees :static double main_calculate_angle_degree(int16_t x, int16_t y){ double angle; angle = atan2((double)y, (double)x); if (angle >= 0) { angle = angle * (180 / M_PI); } else { angle = (angle + 2 * M_PI) *

Hello! On the board STM32WB55RGV6 there is the connector CN13, where is written STLINK (reserved). Can I use these pins to program another board?

Hi!I am using a STM32WB for a bluetooth very low cost application. Right now i have ported in my board with STM32WB50CGU the example P2P server and the Android application ST BLE Sensor connect and communicate with it. I am using the LSE clock (32.768kHz).Now, according with datasheet of the STM32WB50CG, paragraph 3.10, point 3, the LSI2 can be used by the RF subsystem, so, in order to reduce the cost of the board, i tryed it.I can see the advertising with the mobile app (it appears in the research), but unfortunately i cannot connect and exchange data with the board. I attach the cube clock configuration. Am i doing something wrong? How can i solve this problem?Thank you in advanceBest regardsLorenzo

Posted on June 05, 2017 at 05:24I need help please.I have successfully built (using IAR) and run V4.3 FOC project on an STM32303E Eval board. I used the standard included project for this and after a few teething problems, I got it all to work. The next step was to spin a custom board for my application. It is at this point I am having some issues. After re-configuring everything, it compiles fine and loads ok BUT when running the program, it seems to hang at some obscure memory location (see below).I designed a custom PCB based off of NUCLEO-F303RE (which is supported by SDK). However, I'm using MCU STM32F303RB and have remapped most of the pins to appropriate and supported pins by the FOC SDK (see attached schematic). Other than the pins, the main difference is that I'm using an on-board 8MHz crystal as the clock source - I believe the Nucleo gets its clock source from the st-link part of the board. Do I need to reconfigure something in the library because of this?Here is the p

Posted on June 08, 2018 at 22:52Hi all,I'm trying to get started with the Motor Control SDK 5.1.0, after viewing the webinar. Hardware is a Nucleo F302R8, Nucleo-IHM07M1 (in 3 shunt configuration), and the bullrunning 1700 kV motor. The motor profiler runs, although I couldn't get it working (it doesn't give stable rotation). That's ok for now, as it indicates the HW/SW platform is in working condition.The steps taken are as follows:- Use MCSDK 5.1.0 with the hardware mentioned above, to generate an .ioc file. For code generation, SW4STM32 is selected.- Open the .ioc file in STM32CubeMX 4.26.0- Generate code, and click 'open project', which opens SW4STM32- Build the project in SW4STM32. The building runs quite far, until the following error is thrown:Building target: motorTestC.elfInvoking: MCU GCC Linkerarm-none-eabi-gcc -mcpu=cortex-m4 -mthumb -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=fpv4-sp-d16 -specs=nosys.specs -specs=nano.specs -T'../STM32F302R8Tx_FLASH.ld' -Wl,-Map=output.map -Wl,--gc-secti

Posted on July 03, 2018 at 19:51Hi there,I just got a STEVAL-SPIN3201 eva board. I generated a example project(trueStudio) by MC workbench. The code is larger than 32k no matter I use HAL or LL driver. If I enable optimize for code size the code size would be 25.7k if I LL driver when generating the code. For HAL driver, no matter I enable code size optimization or not, the code size is larger than 32k. 1. Is there any other way to reduce code size?2. by the way, I tried to use the motor profiler, and I found  STEVAL-SPIN3201 is not supported. Will it be supported later? If not is there any guide for tuning the parameter of the motor?Best Regards,#flash-overflow #.text-not-fit-in-flash #sdk-v5.1.1 #sdk-5 #sdk-v5 #mc-workben #stm-mcu #truestudio-9.0.0 #truestudio9

Posted on July 10, 2018 at 15:36I find it a bit disappointing that there is no addon to sdk 5.1.1 for STEVAL-ESC001V1 and yet the board are still being sold. They are also being sold as RS485/UART/I2C/PWM platforms but the firmware does not handle I2C.Modifying JSON databases in the new 5.1.1 install I was easily able to get the board listed in the motor profiler.Copying the rest of the resources I was also able to get the profiler to program the firmware and connect to the board.Profiling motors and saving these also work.Importing the old STMCWB project asked to convert it to new format and I let it do so.Exporting for IAR EWARM format also worked after installing Java and the latest CubeMX.Building the new software worked and debugging it I find that somehow USART configuration is basing of wrong clock or somehow configuring wrong. Actual baud on tx from card shows it runs at 230400 baud when code sais 115200.Motor profiler expects 115200 so modifying software to set

Hi,Im trying to interface ST25DV04K-8pin with ESP32Wroom. I have initialized I2C communication on ESP as Master. Source files for ST25DV NFC - https://github.com/stm32duino/ST25DV/tree/master/srcNFCTagInitialise is failing as it is not reading the system Information at 0x17, 0x18-0x1f. ESP - I2C driver returns error (-1). ESP is unable to write the target address to NFC chip (invalid address). Hence Read buffer is not loaded with the data from slave (NFC module)

Hi,I'm working on a project trying to port an old FOC SDK 4.0 based application on a new MC-SDK 5.4.0 one. The job is done on a STM32F407ZE board where previously the use of FOC 4.0 allows to spin a brushless PMSM motor at various mechanicalspeeds. At the moment the motor supplier is not able to tell us if the motor heis selling us is a SM-PMSM or an I-PSMS motor...From a MC SDK point of wiev, our motor application uses a 3-phase inverter basedon three STM L6395s (High voltage high and low-side drivers) and a 3-shunts currentsensing configuration.No over current protection mechanism is at the moment employed and the currentsensing is based on external opamps whose configuration has been taken from another HW application note (this was the job of an external HW engineer).Speed and position feedback is obtained employing 3 120-degrees shifted phase Hall sensors; neither PFC or Brake components are used.The motor voltage bus is 24 V, maximum speed is 40 Krpm, PWM frequency of the3-ph

Hi, I'm a fans of STM32, i can write my code under linux well. But know, i wanna use adv motor control, i know ST has a MC SDK, but it for windows only?i hope i can design my motor program on Linux.Thank you !

Hello everybodyI'm using MotorControl Workbench and Motor Control SDK 5.4.1.I need to control some power tools up to currents of 40A peak. I developed a board similar to IHM08M1 and I'm very satisfied of the power delivered to motors. There's only a "little" problem: I should improve the behavior at heavy loads when motor has to startup, because I noticed that in this case it fails to start. I've a linear ramp of 750ms in which motor moves from 0 rpm to 1650 rpm (15% of nominal speed at free load) and the final current in this phase is the nominal current (so the max current we can give to the motor).Could be a practical solution create a phase in which current rumps up very quickly to nominal value and desired speed moves from 0 rpm to a little value in a brief time? After that phase I would add a phase in which current is still constant at the maximum value and speed moves from the previous little value to the 15% of nominal speed to exit from open loop mechanism.Did anybody try a so

Hi,I am develloping a system using the motor control sdk. I am usiung the ‎STSPIN32F0‎ chip and the following software versions:This module only has one ADC peripheral and I need to use it in my application. Looking around, I have found that the Regular Conversion Manager (RCM) might be exactly what I need for this situation. I can see in the release notes that this feature was added in the 5.2.0 version:They say to "Refer to the Reference documentation for more information.". So I looked at the documentation for my version which I found in the motor control worbench under "Documentation->STM32 motor control SDK5.x - Firmware". In this document, I found the following information:and also:This is all good and well, but when I search for these functions in my STM32cubeIDE workspace were I have the project it doesn't find anything:I have also manually looked in mc_tasks and mc_api where these functions should be located.I have serach on the web everywhere for if this feature was r

Hi!I'm working with custom HW built for sensorless control of SM-PMSM. I've adopted MCSDK library to run it and tuned controllers + observers to achieve most of my requirements. Performance is quite good, but occasionally the motor just stalls (at startup or due to unpredicted load), while still pretending "ramping up" to desired speed. I would describe it as the observer got fooled recreating angle and speed from its own setpoints not from the current state and blindly drives the output further and further just buzzing the motor.Missed something in the SDK?I though that this probably is one of the typical limitations of current sensorless algorithms and i cannot do anything with that / must live with that / give up some of my requirements. But maybe i missed something and does anyone know of some "gotcha" or met similar problem and dealt with that / knows the cure? Could it be easily solved by some settings?Possible solutions exceeding the SDK?Is there a way of aiding additional BEMF

hi sir i am using motor control workbench generated foc sdk and running motor of 6 pole bldc successfully but in my application of motor heavy load is given on motor so it indicate over current fault so please guide me to by pass overcurrent fault from generated code no matter rpm goes down

Hello,Doing some work using sd cards, and noticed that if i were to use the main.h file and have all my fatfs.h declared all the structs like FATFS / FIL / FRESULT spit out errors that theyre undefiend when cntrl clicking takes me to the file.unknown type name 'FATFS' (same with the remainder structs)if i instead make my own file in src called x.h and copy the same code over i get no issues.Any ideas ?Latest version of cubemxa quick snippit of the setup code is#include "stdint.h"#include "fatfs.h" FATFS FS; FIL fil; FRESULT fres;int MountReadSDCard(){  //Mount SSD and copy over the files  if ((fres = f_mount(&FS, "", 1)) == FR_OK) {    /* Try to open file */  HAL_Delay(50);    if ((fres = f_open(&fil, "out.bin", FA_READ)) == FR_OK) {}

I found here(https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stm32-standard-peripheral-libraries.html/) only SPL for F series, I want to use SPL on NUCLEO-G474RE, where could I find it?

Hello everyone,I have one more question about a project I generated with STM32CubeMX for an STM32WB55 microcontroller. The code generation included all necessaries libraries and source code to communicate with an external master device (such as a laptop), and all seems to work perfectly on this side (I mean, communication between my laptop and the STM32WB is OK).When I try to receive a frame sent by the laptop or a terminal, (in the "userBufferRX" ) it seems to be limited tu 64 bytes only. In the RX buffer, I see only 64 bytes and the end of my frame seems to loopback at the beginning of the buffer. I need to receive frames up to 200 bytes. So, here is my question : Is there any configuration to extend this size or is it herd-limited ? How can I set this ?Thank you for your help, and have a nice weekend to all.Patrick

Hi, For the application I am building in TouchGFX, the image and text quality is very good and crisp in developed screen. However, the quality/resolution is not retained in simulation. Below are the before and after pictures. In this picture, both the "Welcome" text and the button label "Continue" are very crisp. This is from development screen in TouchGFX.Picture below is from simulation window. As can be seen, both the texts are not as crisp as above picture. This loss of quality is observed with images too (compare the blue button image itself).Please advice what settings I might be missing.

Hi, i am very new to microcontrollers and have a problem that I cannot understand.I use a STM32F407 on a Discovery board. I set up channel 1 and channel 2 of the TIM2 timer for input capture. As soon the execution jumps into the interrupt handler "HAL_TIM_IC_CaptureCallback" (and stop on breakpoint at line 3) I can see the right values for SR in the debugger's SFRs window. So, the UIF-flag is set and CC1IF and/or CC1IF. If I do now one step further from the breakpoint, the CCxIF-flags get set to 0. The datasheet says that those got reset by query the CCRx-value but I don't do this:void HAL_TIM_IC_CaptureCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { uint8_t t_status = 0; if(TIM2->SR & TIM_SR_CC1IF) t_status = 1; else if (TIM2->SR & TIM_SR_CC2IF) t_status = 2;Is it not possible to read the registers in an interrupt routine? What is the right way to get the channel that caused the interrupt?What could it be that i do wrong?Also when it hits the breakpoint the first time in th

Hello,I want to setup a STM32F745IEK6 together with an SDRAM from Micron Type MT48LC8M16A2P-6A.I analyzed the theoretical signal Intergrity for the devices and I had to end because of my question:The setup time of MT48L is required with min. 1,5 ns. The Hold time is min. 0,8 ns.The hold time for the Signals e. g. CAS, RAS, WE is given with 0 ns, but for my understanding this value has to be greater than the 0,8 ns from the SDRAM. I only had the chance if I am increasing the Time of Flight between transmitter and receiver. Or are the both parts not compatible togetherCan somebody help for my understanding.Thank you and best regards

Hello,I am going to use a 32 MHz oscillator (LSE) for a ZigBee application on STM32WB55. Do I have to add a 32 kHz oscillator? I do not need RTC. Best regards,Batuhan
