Hello,I have a question regarding several timers which are confiugred in PWM input mode (CCR1 is used to measure the PWM period and CCR2 is used to measure the PWM Width). So far when I plug a user signal on the evalution board, I can see the correct values captured in both registers. When I switch off the user signal, I see that the CCR1/2 registers are holding the last captured value, even if nothing is connected to this pin. I was expecting to read a 0 once I disconnect the user signal in order to perform a reset of the registers.Is there a way to take advantage of the internal status registers (SR) or Event generation registers ( e.g. CC1IF) in order to poll flags to check if new updates have occured? I would like to avoid to use additional compare registers e.g. CCR3 or CCR4 and create unnecessary interrupt overhead. Moreover, this pattern is only applicable on advanced timer, not on basic timers which only have two compare registers CCR1 and CCR2.I was thinking in case internal r

Hi,In a matter of days, I'll have to port a user bootloader from STM32F303 to a STM32G473 mcu.The question is about the Dual Bank feature of G473: since Dual Bank is active by default (DBANK=1), I'd prefer to NOT switch to Single Bank (as it is necessary to use specific Segger Flash Loaders).So, keeping dual bank active, in my scenario:the bootloader takes the first 16 kBytes of Bank1the user application takes the last 112 kBytes of Bank1 and the whole Bank2I studied a bit the Flash_WriteProtection demo and the EraseInitStruct can be initialized to perform erase on bank1 or bank2.EraseInitStruct.TypeErase = FLASH_TYPEERASE_PAGES; EraseInitStruct.Banks = FLASH_BANK_1; // or FLASH_BANK_2 EraseInitStruct.Page = StartPage; EraseInitStruct.NbPages = EndPage - StartPage + 1;   if (HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&EraseInitStruct, &PageError) != HAL_OK)The write API implementation seems to not care about which bank to write as it takes in only the destination address.My doubt is about the

This is probably the stupidest question asked here but, i want to be absolutely sure.It's TouchGFX only for smt32 microcontroller? or can i use TouchGFX with a Esp32 for instance?. And, there is a way to develop a desktop aplication with tochGFX, can i develop an app for running on a Raspberry Pi?. tanks so much.

Is it possible to configure 1 or more timers to divide incomming pulses on a pin by a factor (for example 8) and send out the result on another pin?Like this:That way I would not need to implement the counter in software.

Hi,I am using LoRa-E5 mini board from seeed studio (https://www.seeedstudio.com/LoRa-E5-mini-STM32WLE5JC-p-4869.html)To program it using STM32CubeIDE, do we need to connect it to pc using ST-Link or we can simply program it via Type C cable?

HiI have an STM32F769 Discovery board (STM32F769I-DISCO) with STLink onboard.STLink works fine but if I try to run my STM32 application STLink reports the MCU is not detected:========Target no device foundError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: No device found on target.====I was able to run only the first time... after that the STM32F7 never responded.I have an other discovery board (same type) which reports the same issue (STLink doesn't detect the MCU)Could you help?Thanks

I'm new in embeded programming. and now I'm trying to test UART with NUCLEO-F103RB. I installed STM32CubeMX 6.6.1 and TrueSTUDIO 9.3.0. I created using CubeMx and compiled with TrueStudio, but failed.. there are many undeclared(first use in this function) and unkown type.Is there any bug in TrueSTUDIO 9.3.0 or CubeMX 6.6.1? How can I remove these errors?

Which template should I choose for my board with STM32H745BIT6 with 800x480 resolution?I checked the templates and there was no template available for STM32H745I think TouchGFX is generic and is not dependent on the controller but can you please point me to correct template to choose as per my controller? ThanksAnuj

Hello,using: STM32CubeIDE 1.10.1 on Windows 10I have not used the debugger for a week or so, I didn't do any updates (okay, Win 10 probably has, managed by company...), but all of a sudden when I want to start a debug session, this message pops up:st link server is required to launch the debug sessionWhy's that?Edit: I am an absolute beginner when it comes to STM debugging tools.Because I always worked on many different platforms, I mostly rely on LEDs and UARTs for debugging...

Hi,I have a problem with a motherboard from a Dell Venue 11 Pro 5130 (T06g001), I think the bios was corrupted during an update. In order to reflash the chip, I first need to identify it. I found a chip that seems to be an EEPROM labeled on the first line with 393 and on the second ST GZ421 (it's the chip from the image bellow). Thank you very much for your help.----------------

Hello,I am a newbie in struct.I have a struct declaration below.typedef struct __serial_data { uint8_t frameStart; uint32_t data; } serial_data;   serial_data mydata[25];but frameStart is allocated 32bit in memory and this causes trouble when sending through UART.Initialize the struct.for(uint16_t cntr = 0; cntr < 25; cntr++) { mydata[cntr].frameStart = 0xAA; mydata[cntr].data = cntr + 1; }Memory watch Send to UART Memory location Is there any way to send data like:AA, 01, 00, 00, 00, AA, 02, 00, 00, 00, AA, 03, 00, 00, 00, AA, 04, 00, 00, 00, ......Where:AA = frame start (8bits)01 = data (32bits)Or the only way to do it is to make a separate array and arrange it accordingly and manually?

It seems so easy, but I get no signal to the pin PA4. I use STM32f103VCT, any Idea ?int main(void){ /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */ /* USER CODE END SysInit */ /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_DAC_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */    HAL_DAC_Start(&hdac, DAC_CHANNEL_1);    HAL_DAC_SetValue(&hdac, DAC_CHANNEL_1,DAC_ALIGN_12B_R, 3000); /* USER CODE END 2 */ /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ while (1) {   /* USER CODE END WHILE */   /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */

I noticed that CubeMx (version 6.6.1 and earlier) when generating the code, may place the MX_DMA_Init() function after other ***_init functions that configure DMA registers. The problem is that those registers cannot be accessed 'before' enabling the DMA clock. For example here is a snippet of erroneous code: MX_ADC1_Init(); MX_ADC3_Init(); MX_I2C2_Init(); MX_I2C3_Init(); MX_SPI1_Init(); MX_SPI2_Init(); MX_DMA_Init();In the example above the ADC1 and ADC3 peripheral use the DMA mode, but the DMA is not initialized yet. In attachment there is the whole main.c file containing the above snippet.A possible workaround could be to impose the clock initialization before any other initialization: /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */ /* Workaround for a CubeMx bug */ __HAL_RCC_DMA2_CLK_ENABLE(); /* USER CODE END SysInit */

I am reading data from a magnetic field sensor and storing it in a variable of type float. But what concerns is that I can't see the negative measurements on the debug window. When I store it in a int16_t variable the negative measurements show up. How could I watch the negative float values as well ?

I just upgraded to MacOX Ventura 13.0.1 from MacOS 12 last night, and now STM32CubeIDE 1.10.1 crashes about 8 1/2 minutes from app startup, consistently. This is on a 2019 Intel 16" MacBook Pro. The crash happens even if the app is left idle.Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to fix this?Here's part of the crash dump. If I connect a constant rising signal at the ADC input, I observe significant fluctuations at certain ADC values. These fluctuations always appear at the same ADC values. The affected values have the following format XX500, e.g. 18500, 19500, 20500 etc.I was also able to reproduce this behavior with the NUCLEO-H743ZI and the example projects (ADC_DMA_Transfer and ADC_RegularConversion_Polling) from the current cube firmware V1.5.0. The graphic in the appendix shows a recorded ADC values, which shows the problem.Can someone help me to solve the problem?

Hi,I am developing new UHF RFID board using ST25RU3993. Can i connect this board to GUI written for  ST25RU3993-HPEV eval board?I want to test my board with GUI. I downloaded SDK files for eval board but i am not sure if can connect my board to GUI.Best regards.

Hello ST community.   I'm using STM32F401RDT6 microcontroller which is powered during the day by a solar panel (power regulators converts the panel's voltage to 3V3). The MCU uses its internal RTC for logs and the issue is to keep the RTC running from the low power mode during the night. I would like to place a coin bettry and connect it to the MCU via the VBAT pin in a way that during the day only the solar panel will feed the MCU, and at night only the battery will do so.   Connecting the battery directly to VBAT causes the battery to drain out even during the day which is not desirable.   I Couldn't find any good guidelines for this solution. I hope this forum could help. Thanks in advance, Raz.

Hi all,I would like to build a board with wireless module STM32WB5MMG.I'm using kicad and it is really difficult to insert a track for pin 84 (GND) in the central pads due to cad limitations with this BGA footprint. I would like to use only the external pads. Someone has idea if there are any problems to skip this gnd pin ?Thanks to all,Enrico.

Hi! I have created a program to send messages between cores (A7 and M4), using virtual uart. The messages that are sent from the A7 core are received by the M4 core. My error occurs when I try to read the messages that are sent from the M4 core to the A7. The program that I have created in linux is the following (M4 program is running): How can I read the messages that are sent from the M4 core?Is there any example to follow?Thanks!

There does not seem to be anything in the datasheet about set tolerance, or drift over temperature.  https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/lsm6dso.pdfAssume the INTERNAL_FREQ_FINE is unchanged. It has a step size of .15%, so one would presume the best you can do is around that if it is calibrated. I am more concerned with the un-calibrated difference, and how that might change over temp. Thanks.

Hello,I need to make ST25R3916 read as power efficient as possible. I am searching for documentation, but only this voltage regulator I see (0x2C). Is there any option to change field power of NFC to make a read as power efficient as possible? NFC tag will be always on fixed position in fixed range.Important: we are not talking about detecting card - as capacitance detection is good enough but only on reading the card
