Good Morning STM Team,I am trying to simulate a 28 W Flyback-based AC-DC offline converter using the VIPERGAN50TR controller in LTspice.Could anyone please help me with the LTspice SPICE model for the VIPERGAN50TR? It would be very helpful for my simulation work.If there are any sample LTspice projects or simulation files available, I would also appreciate it if you could share them.Thank you!

Hello All, I’m working with a STUSB4500 chip and have hit an issue right from the get go. For reasons I can’t see, the chip is not being powered when connected to a USB-C source. Probing VDD shows continuity to VBUS, and probing GND shows good continuity to the power source GND. I’ve attached my schematic below. Any ideas where I messed up?  

Did someone know the short-circuit withstand time (SCWT) or short-circuit SOA characterization for SCT040W65G3-4 under VGS = +15/-3 V, including the dependence on VDS and junction temperature? Is the value guaranteed or characterization-only?

Hello ST Community,We are using the VIPER16LDTR in a non-isolated buck converter to generate 12VDC from a 325VDC rectified bus. The input is 230VAC from a Variac, rectified to approximately 325VDC through our input rectification stage. The circuit follows the standard buck topology from VIPER16 datasheet Figure 17. Operating conditions: Vin = 325VDC, Vout = 12V, Iout = approximately 250mA, fsw = 60kHz (VIPER16L type confirmed with differential probe).What we have verified as healthy:DRAIN pins 13-16: 325VDC present and confirmed VDD pin 5 (via C21, 10uF): 12V present — internal HV startup source working SW node pin 2: 60kHz switching waveform confirmed with differential oscilloscope probe D9 (FDLL4148): forward drop confirmed, correct orientation D10, D11 (600V/1A): both healthy in diode mode L3 (1mH, SRR1206102KL): DCR = 0.25Ω, solder joints inspected and reflowed, continuity confirmed C22 (220uF, 25V output cap): 1.4MΩ to GND — no leakage, no short 12V rail to GND (load side): 4.5kΩ

Hello ST Community,I am designing a custom high-power motor controller for an industrial servo motor (RMCS2082) and need advice on component selection, thermal limits, and layout architecture.System Specifications:- Nominal Current: 18.7 A (Continuous load)- Peak / Stall Current: 130 A (Transient spike)- Battery Operating Voltage: 24 Volts- Target Enclosure/Board Temperature: Strictly under 50°C to 60°C Max- Control Method: 20 kHz PWM (generated via external MCU)The Dilemma & My Analysis:I evaluated the VNHD7008AY using TwisterSIM. Brief transient simulations show safe temperatures around 45°C. However, calculating steady-state thermal dissipation for an 18.7A continuous load across the integrated H-bridge path (approx 16-24 mΩ hot) results in 6W to 8W+ of pure heat generation. In a standard PCB design, this localized thermal load will quickly cause a massive temperature rise exceeding my 60°C target and trigger thermal shutdown. We are using Nucleo-F446RE + IHM09M2 + IPMM15B. The offset detection’s progress in Motor Profiler stucks at 7%. We’ve are seeking for possible results.Is it possible for the current at the J4 pin to drop below 0.01A? We observed that the voltage at the J4 pin exceeds 15V, which is higher than the auxiliary power supply's limit. This suggests that the current might have flowed back into the auxiliary power supply.

Dear STMicroelectronics Support Team,I am writing to request technical clarification regarding the wake-up configuration of the L99DZ300G's EI1 pin. We are currently debugging an issue related to sleep mode and false wake-ups in our system.[Background]An external controller inputs a 50Hz (20ms period) PWM signal to the EI1 pin for Crash Unlock detection. The signal operates as follows: Steady State: High 16ms (80%) / Low 4ms (20%) Crash State: High 4ms (20%) / Low 16ms (80%) [Current S/W Configuration]The EI1 pin is configured to Cyclic Mode using Timer 2: EI1_FILT[1:0] = 0x01 (Cyclic mode with Timer 2) Timer 2 Period = 20ms (T2) Timer ON Time = 0.1ms (ton1) [Our Analysis & Concerns]Based on the datasheet, our understanding is that the "blanking time 80% of timer ON time" applies to the 0.1ms ton (i.e., 80µs), followed by a brief 16µs sampling window ($t_{WU\_cyc}$).Since the monitoring period (20ms) matches the input PWM period (20ms), we suspect an aliasing/phase lock issue

I'm using an L6561 to build a flyback circuit to control an LED with constant current. The input voltage is 220VAC 50Hz. The output controlling the LED is 12V 0.15A. I tested it with 12V 0.7A and the circuit worked very well with a power factor (PF) of 0.96 and THDI <10%. However, when testing with 12V 0.15A, the PF was 0.68 and THDI was around 40%. Could it be that the L6562 doesn't have a good power factor under light load?

We have recently designed and implemented a PCB with TS4436 IC. And we are using this IC as a comparator in our application.While testing, we have observed that the IC taking near 40mA as supply current during OUT enable time (for FB input > 0.6V). But as per datasheet it won't take more than 4mA. We request you to go through the issue and share the resolution asap.  Sharing our application schematic for reference.  

The test conditions of VINCL parameters of VNS3V04DPTR-E chip are: Does light inject 1mA current into the IN pin, and does the SOURCE pin need to be grounded?

Good morning,I'm working on some new automotive designs and on the current boards i found what are , presumibly, STM components but i can't really identify them with the offerings in the online catalogs, (at least IF they are STM engineering samples)The body is specifically PowerSSO-16 but the marking of the components i found for now present similar but very different top markings2HTS90 D1B1HTS20 D11HTS10 200U2HTS30 D1B1HTS50 D1(these 5 are the ones i classified so far) Can i have some help in documenting them, if they indeed are VND productsBellow a picture of one of the components, there are all the same except the top markings (no logos or such)

Following this issue, and the advice from ​@Didier HERROUIN, we have implemented the SYN and SCS initialisation,(see schematic) , and are still finding that our STPM32 chips are resetting their UART config during operation.For context, the firmware first pulses SYN 3 times, then SCK, and configures the STPM32 UART to 115200 baud. This runs fine for a few minutes, and then we detect a failure because the chip resets to 9600 baud for no reason, leading to a timeout on the microcontroller.The voltage supply to this device is perfectly stable at 3.3V.We have followed all advice regarding isolation and ground planes, as you can see in the attached PCB design.I desperately require assistance with this problem. My only solution now is to re-configure the STPM32 every time it resets, but this will definitely lead to inaccuracies as some energy measurements will be lost during configuration and timeout detection. The only common thread I can piece together is a hint from one Mark Germagian, who

In a larger design I’m using a LD39100PU33R for a 3.3V output. The input voltage is 5V and the device has decoupling capacitors as per the datasheet. The 3.3V circuit is consuming about 0.5A and the device is capable of delivering 1A. The circuitry connected is no inductive loads, but rather a steady consumption from sensors (air pressure & temperature).I am unable to find any information in the datasheet (Section 5. Typical performance characteristics) on what temperature the device will typically be at this load, but it’s running at a constant 75C. Hi,We designed a 24V to 5V DC-DC power supply using the LD1086DT50TR. However, we are experiencing an overheating issue. Our application load current is only 0.2–0.3 A, but the regulator temperature rises significantly. Could you please suggest a solution to resolve this overheating issue?

We are considering using the L6387ED with an STM32G431 powered at 3.3 V.The L6387ED datasheet appears to specify a minimum input high-level threshold, VIHV_{IH}VIH​, of 3.6 V under some conditions, which would not guarantee recognition of a 3.3 V STM32 GPIO high level over process, voltage and temperature.However, the ST B-G431B-ESC1 reference board appears to connect STM32G431 3.3 V PWM outputs directly to L6387ED inputs.Could you please confirm the following:Is direct connection of a 3.3 V STM32G431 GPIO to the L6387ED input officially guaranteed across the full operating temperature range and production tolerances? If yes, which datasheet specification or characterization data guarantees this compatibility? Hello experts!I’m developing a three-phase motor control application based on the STGIF5CH60TS-L. As suggested by the datasheet I have RC-filters at all low voltage inputs with the required 100ns time constant, in my case it’s 1kOhm and 100pF due to the driving limitation of the MCU’s PWM outputs of 4mA at 3,3V VDD. When I measure the input signals at the IPM, I can see a negative voltage spike for about 100ns which is clamped by an internal diode of the input structure. Naturally, this clamping voltage is around -0,7V and therefore lower than -0,3V given in the absolute maximum ratings. My question is now:Which current magnitude of negative injection can be tolerated by IPM?I could reduce the voltage spike by decrease the resistance in the RC-filter and increase the capacitance simultaneously. That will however require me to use a line driver between the MCU and the IPM, which is no nice solution in my opinion.Best regards!CHEG

I’ve designed a flyback w/ Viper27HD.  Turn on voltage is 120Vdc.  Max design input volutage is 500Vdc.  Output voltage is 12V.  I designed the VCC tertiary winding for 16V, but due to spike rectification the actual votlage is 20.2V for Viper VCC.  The prime supply is a MagnaPower SLx-1.5-500-3-xxxxx power supply with voltage, current, power, control and + and - slew rate control. The Viper “wakes up” when the input voltage is at ~110V.  I have an internal POR circuit that holds off my controls until 250 ms later.  When the POR ends, the 12V housekeeping power is used to energize the gate drive of a FET from the input power rail to a large capacitor bank through a 40 Ohm “Soft Start” resistor.  When the gate drive initiates, the Viper chip shuts down for 22 ms which temporarily glitches the housekeeping power.  I’m using a FOD2711 isolation regultor for FB control. I observe: VCC of Viper is STABLE through the shutdown. Hi everyone,I am using the STGAP3SXS isolated gate driver on my custom PCB, but I am unable to get it to operate correctly.I have attached my schematic for reference.I tested the driver in two different configurations:With all protection circuits enabled (DESAT, Miller clamp, etc.) With the protection circuitry removed/disabled (minimal configuration)In both cases, the behavior is exactly the same.ObservationsPin 13 (DIAG) remains HIGH. Pin 14 (RST) also remains HIGH. No gate output is generated.According to the datasheet, DIAG is the diagnostic output and RST is the active-low reset/shutdown input.
