Is there a way to find the base temperature from LIS2DHTR.?

We are using LIS2DHTR sensor for our project, our queries are listed below

1.The temperature variation is more while the ambient temperature is almost constant.

2.It Provide output of variation from the reference temperature(as per datasheet ), Is there a way to find the base temperature via sensor .

3.Is there any unique temperature calibration procedure for this sensor.

Albeit not explicitly stated, I'm sure the LIS2 internal sensor is a semiconductor junction, deriving the temperature by measuring the forward voltage. By simple logic, this means such a sensor can only measure the die (junction) temperature.

If you want an accurate ambient temperature measure, use an external sensor which is not affected by internal heating.

Or calibrate the LIS2 temperature sensor when junction temperature has settled, i.e. after 15 minutes or more. Provided the current/power consumption of the LIS2 is largely constant.
