LPS331AP Pressure Sensor for Fuel Level

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but here we go.  I'm considering using a pressure sensor to prototype a method for fuel level sensing.  The sensor would be at the closed end of a straight tube at the top of a fuel tank.  The open end of the tube would be positioned near the bottom of the fuel tank.  As the fuel rises, the air pressure inside the tube would increase.  Then we can relate air pressure to fuel level.

This could be a great solution as we would be isolating the sensor from the fuel.  However, I worry about how fuel vapors could affect the sensor over time.  Could anyone give me a detailed understanding of how this sensor is constructed?  Is there any inherent protection against certain elements?  Could anyone make a comment as to how they think this sensor would hold up to fuel vapors?  Thanks!
