I have written compact assembler code, with assistance from ChatGPT and Gemini, for the STM32H5E5ZJ to raise its core voltage to VOS0, configure PLL1 and PLL2 and switch system clock to 248MHz.Any comments much appreciated as to the sequencing and safety of this code or any problems seen please. It is tested and working reliably and occupies less than 512 Bytes. At the moment it runs in RAM and only after reset (not to be called later. To run in Flash it must also raise Flash wait states.  The code also configures MCO1 and MCO2, configures SPI1 as master, running at 4MBaud, it puts SPI1 into a delayed loop sending test data readings from TIM2.SPI1 is configured to use PA4 SPI1_NSS, PA6 SPI1_MISO, PA7 SPI1_MOSI and PG11 SPI1_SCK.Any comments much appreciated as to the sequencing and safety of this code.I have used ST Core MX extensively to help build the code by reading MX generated C code. Here is the code, anyone is free to make use of it as a supplement to official ST code if they so

Hello, I’m using 6 of the STGAP3SXI as part of an IGBT 3 phase bridge driver. Each chip has its own 24V to isolated +15V and -9V switching supply (Meanwell GD2-241509) and the logic side is powered with a separate +5V supply. Everything runs normal except once in a while I get a random low signal on one of the chips on the READY pin which causes the MPU to issue a fault and shutdown. The datasheet says this is an error signal for the logic side under volt lockout, the isolated side under volt lockout, and the chip over temperature sensor. The diagram shows that the READY signal will return high after the voltages have risen above the min thresholds and chip temperature has lowered. However, the voltages from the supplies are above the UVLO thresholds on both sides and the chip temperature is nowhere close to its trip point. Also, when this occurs, the READY signal never returns high and only a total power down will reset it. Is this a noise issue locking up some function of the chip? I

I am using VL53L4CX together with VL53L4CD’s ULD driver. This was discussed before in VL53L4CX using VL53L4CD ULD and it works just fine. I am now willing to improve power-consumption under long-lasting proximity monitoring.I understand that “VL53L4CX is a superset of VL53L4CD” but is it still true for low-power behavior ? Or does the VL53L4CD’s low-power capacity benefits from some permanent factory modification w/r to VL53L4CX ? According to this flyer, only VL53L4CD is rated for ultralow power.   And in case I cannot achieve VL53L4CD’s advertised lowpower specs (down to 50-ish µA) with the VL53L4CX, is it still relevant to use the VL53L4CD’s ULP driver to be as efficient as possible ? and are there some additional tweaks that could be made to this driver in that particular case ?

I’m just getting started with Cube MX and IDE. (MX: 6.18.1, IDE:2.2.0, Debian Trixie platform)I have the Nucleo-144 board with STM32F412GTx device. I’ve tried to configure the TIM1 as PWM,and enabled the interrupts in MX. Generated the code, opened in IDE, built and uploaded to the neucleo board with no significant problems. However, whilst the timer is configured pretty much as specified in MX, the timer is not enabled, none of the interrupts are enabled and the output is not enabled.I can see that whilst a motor control program would not want either the timer or the timer output enabled at boot, not having the interrupts enabled seems strange. I managed to enable these by looking up in the reference manual and manually setting the registers in the debug mode, but that does not affect the Flashed code. (Modifying CR1, DIER and CCER registers)I did find one article describing how to enable the timer, and added that code to the timer init function, but so far I’ve not found the commands

I created the following topic under MEMS (sensors) with the tags MEMS sensors, E-Compasses and STM32F4 series:“Can MotionMC v2.9.0 calibrate with constrained Alt-Azimuth motion only?” After publication, the topic appears under STM32 MCUs → Others: STM32 MCUs related, and only the STM32F4 series tag remains.Could you please move the topic back to MEMS (sensors) and restore the relevant MEMS sensors and E-Compasses tags?Thank you.

Question  How to add or update the SVD file in a project using STM32CubeIDE, IAR or Keil®? Answer  1. Introduction  To check the behavior of the project, it is necessary to control the changes made to registers status. To do that, it is important to check these registers status in the system view descriptions (SVD). So, the most important benefit of the SVD is that it provides detailed information about peripherals registers and bit-fields values using the debugger view. The purpose of this article is to share steps for adding the SVD file in different toolchains.  2. Prerequisite  STM32CubeIDE IAR Keil®  3. Steps  3.1 Add SVD file in STM32CubeIDE toolchain  1.Download the system view description from this link: STM32U575 and STM32U585 microcontrollers - STMicroelectronics. 2.Extract the file that you downloaded from STMicroelectronics web site. 3.Open STM32CubeIDE. 4.Click Window -> Show View -> SFRs. 5.Cl

I attended "Build Your Own Embedded System Workshop From Prototype to Design: Rapid Development with the STM32Cube Ecosystem" at the Embedded World North America in Anaheim, CA last month (Sep 2026). I am looking for slides that were shared during the workshop.

I am enquiring about comparators in STM32G474.For COMP4, it says that the INP can be connected to PB0 and INM can be connected to DAC1_CH1. But when PB0=1.65V and PA4(which is the output of DAC1_CH1)=3.15V , the VALUE bit in COMP_CSR is 1, which should be 0. I measured in from nucleo board and they are exactly the values I expected. And VALUE bit remains 1 when I changed the DAC1_CH1 to other values. It makes me wonder if there is an issue in the manual. It seems that DAC1 is not really connected to COMP4.Thank you!

I’m currently working on a PMSM drive project using the HSO scheme. I am using MC-Workbench 6.4.2 with the STM32G474RET6 MCU on a custom-designed control board. After configuring the project in Workbench and downloading the firmware to my custom board, I used the Pilot interface to verify my hardware design. First, I ran the FOC in open-loop duty mode. The motor spins normally, and the waveforms such as phase current and phase voltage look basically acceptable. Then I started the Profiler for motor parameter identification. As soon as the identification process starts, the system throws an ERROR_DC_AC fault. This is where I am stuck now. I need to troubleshoot the root cause and check if there are any inappropriate configuration settings so that the automatic identification can complete successfully.      To identify the root cause of the above issue, I tested Iα, Iβ, phase voltages Uα and Uβ in open‑loop mode. The waveforms themselves look acceptable. However, I observed a strange

I am trying to configure a project for the AEK-POW-BMS63EM board in AutoDevKit Studio. When I click Allocate, the process fails with these messages:Error: PolyglotException: please check content of function 'getAllocationProcess'Error: nullI selected the SPC5xN - AEK-POW-BMSEM DualAccess_CHAIN application for discovery sample.Could you help me identify the cause of this error and explain how to resolve it? Please also let me know which project template and components should be used for this board.I can provide screenshots, project files, software version details, and additional logs if needed.Thank you for your help.

I like the voltage regulator LDL212DR by sepification and want to simulate along with my other components. So need Spice model and requesting for a quick help.

Hello,I have a custom board with a 4.2V battery followed by a linear voltage regulator at 3.0V powering a STM32WL33.When battery is inserted sometimes the power up is not clean and the cpu freezes, no code is executed. (the code is just pulling down a GPIO, no other initialization)BOOT pin A10 has a 560 Ohm pull down.Pulling down NRST later doesn’t have any effect. Freeze happens when the VDDIO goes down to 500mV and then rise up again. As you can see in the following images in clean startup the core VCAP voltage rise up from 0 to 1.2V very fast, while in bad case the VCAP voltage follows the VDDIO ramp from 0.5V to 1.2V and the core freeze.BOR is not working!!! NRST is not pulled down.Schematic is as suggested.Any workaround? Thanks!Fabio Good power-up:Green: VDDIO;   Yellow: SMPS output on VFBSD;   Cyan: VCAP;   Purple: NRST Bad power-up:Schematic:

Hello, I need help with an issue.I work at an IoT sensor startup in Brazil, and we use the IIS3DWB. We are receiving complaints from some customers stating that, after one or two months of use, the accelerometer shows a zero reading on one of the axes (X, Y, or Z). Do you have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Current TouchGFX version used: 4.26.0It would save some time if it was possible to lock/unlock all currently selected items in TouchGFX Designer via the right-click context menu: As an additional request it would also be of great use if you could Shift-select a bunch of elements in one go. Currently, you can only use Ctrl+Click to select multiple elements as in the above image. However, it would be useful to also have a Shift+Click for below usecase:

During refactor I sometimes create containers in Designer that should have the same dimensions/location as another existing element. Currently I look at the coordinates/size and copy them by hand, but it would be nice if I could rightclick on the new element (e.g. container) and click “resize/move to ...” and then select another component from the same screen (e.g. a box).

GreetingsI am apprentice in electronics and for a school project I am trying to build a digital clock based on an STM32. I want to use an ST7735 based SPI display to show the time, because I am already familiar with the Adafruit GFX library (I did something similar on Arduino before). Since I have never done a project before, where I am selecting my MCU, although I already have some experience regarding PCB design. My questions/criteria are as follows:I want to have a MCU that I can solder by hand, therefore BGA packages and the like are out of the question The MCU needs to be compatible with the mentioned graphics library, I am aware of HAL libraries but would need assistance in choosing one I need at least 7 or 8 GPIOs to be available, so I can use external buttons to change the time I assume SPI and I2C (might  I want to be able to do the programming directly with the MCU soldered to the board, should I implement the programming interface via USB or should I use the SW pins?If I wer

I am working on an industrial embedded control PCB based on the STM32H563VIT6 MCU.We are currently facing significant availability issues for STM32H563VIT6. The part is showing zero immediate stock at major authorized distributors including DigiKey, Mouser, and element14/Farnell, with reported manufacturer lead times extending to several months. Please confirm the current production and supply status of STM32H563VIT6. And also, confirm the expected availability from ST for this specific part number.

Hello,I would like to report a documentation issue in RM0511 Rev6, section 15.9 (LCSC register map, Table 38).The introductory text states:> "The green cells indicate the register is in the VDD12o power domain. This implies those registers are not reset on Deepstop exit."However, in Rev6 the color highlighting is missing from the table — it is not possible to identify which LCSC registers are in the VDD12o power domain. This information is critical for correct Deepstop/low-power mode implementation, as registers in the VDD12o domain retain their values across Deepstop while others do not. **References:**- RM0511 Rev6, section 15.9, Table 38- RM0511 Rev5, section 15.9, Table 39Thank you.

ContextWe are currently using a 3 year old VL53L8CX ULD API version v1.1.0. According to the changelog in the latest ULD API here:ULD API for VL53L8CX version 1.2.0 introduces wrap around filter to limit false positives and an improved rad2perp coefficients which makes corner zones range better. Additionally v1.2.1 adds periodic temperature compensation without stopping and restarting ranging. We are currently facing an issue with a customer where there are missed car detection with VL53L8CX ToF sensor installed in an outdoor setting (in certain situations like in a bright afternoon) and version 1.2.1 might resolve these issues. ProblemThe only available ULD API version on st website is the latest one i.e. 2.0.1. This is a major revision change which increases the porting effort for not a lot of gain from v1.2.1 to v2.0.1 for our specific use case. AskCan you share an older version of ULD API, specifically v1.2.1, to download?

Hi all. We're streaming the IIS3DWB10IS FIFO over 4-wire SPI, mode 3, at 8–10 MHz (on a STEVAL-MKI253KA with a ~15 cm cable). Now and then the part loses its configuration. Registers 0x01–0x12 all read 0x00, while 0x13 and above keep their values and WHO_AM_I still reads 0x50. The zeroed registers include PLL_CTRL_2, which we never write, and PIN_CTRL, IF_CFG and CTRL3, which have non-zero POR values. So it isn't a reset. On the logic analyser (500 MS/s), CS stays low for the whole burst, SCK has exactly the right number of clocks, and SDI is 0x00. Then, 50–80 bytes into the FIFO burst, the sensor stops driving SDO at a byte boundary. INT1 rises within ~100 ns of that moment and falls again 9 bytes later. That is exactly when a "write from 0x00" re-framed at that byte would reach FIFO_CTRL3. It looks as if the SPI frame restarts internally and our 0x00 dummy bytes are taken as a write. The eval board ties DBG1 to GND only through 1 MΩ, where the datasheet says it must be tied to GND. Bri

Is the ROM in the STM32F4 a different memory technology than the flash or is it just write protected flash?
