Trying to uninstall the previous version, I get: "Windows cannot find C\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_251\bin\javaw.exe. Trying to run the newly installed Programmer, I get "CubeProgrammer_API or one its dependencies is missing. Please try reinstalling or check your java architecture. The trouble is that I installed JRE 1.8.0_45 because that's what the CubeMX said it needed. How do I get out of this loop?

I suspect there is a registry key or ini file pointing to the prior java install. Something similar has been reported before. Not sure I have the patience to fight the search. Might have been a Java Control Panel setting.
@Nawres GHARBI do you recall how it finds/remembers the Java location.
