Download of STM32CubeProgrammer Linux not possible

BadSugar

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to download the STM32CubeProgrammer for Linux from this page: https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubeprog.html#get-software

However, the download isn’t starting. I’m repeatedly redirected back to the main page without any download beginning.

Could anyone assist with this? Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
BadSugar

Hello,

I tried to download it using Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon, and it works.

The page redirects me to Login or Register page, and when logged, The "Get Latest" button begins downloading.

Hi,

I think this issue is more to do with your browser settings.

The download page generates a popup for the Licensing Agreement, and then a popup for your Login/ Register. If your browser is blocking them, it will never work...

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Pedro

Thank you, Xisco and Pedro, for your suggestions!

I tried logging in and disabling any pop-up blockers, as well as testing in different browsers, but I’m still experiencing the same issue. After clicking “Get Latest,” it redirects me to a blank page. When I try reloading the page, I see this message:

SORRY, PAGE NOT FOUND

"We're sorry, the page or document you requested is not available. The URL entered might either be no longer valid or the requested service may be temporarily unavailable. Please verify the address has been entered correctly. The links below and the search function located in the page header may also be helpful to find the requested information."

Is there anything else you’d recommend trying, or does anyone know if there might be an issue with the STM32 site itself?

Thanks again!

What browser you are using ?

Downloading did not work initially for me, using the Brave browser under Linux.
While I saw the licence agreement and file save dialog, the "Downloads" dialog said "one potentially unsafe download blocked". I had to manually enable it.

Perhaps you try another browser.
Or from another location, if you sit behind a proxy.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ozone!

I’m currently using Firefox 132.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS. After clicking “Get Latest,” I get the license agreement pop-up, which I accept, but no download link appears afterward. I’ve also tried disabling Firefox security settings, as well as using other browsers like Brave and Epiphany, but I’m still having the same issue.

Any additional ideas would be much appreciated!

And yes, I had to disable Adblockers and "Brave Protection" for this site, or else I would not even see a file dialog.
But as I understood, you did that.

Perhaps it has to do with your location, and a proxy.
Inside my company's network, a lot of websites is generally blocked.

After clicking “Get Latest,” it redirects me to a blank page. When I try reloading the page, I see this message:
SORRY, PAGE NOT FOUND

I never came across that in this context. Perhaps an issue with the browser's local cache, or a mirror server for ST's website ?

Due to limited capacity of underwater cable connections, most across-ocean websites are locally mirrored (e.g. US vs. Europe vs. Australia).
