Use STM32CubeMX to configure STM32CubeExpansion and STM32CubeFunctionPack

Is it possible to install and configure Function and Expansionpacks with STM32CubeMX Tool?

I can see support for X-CUBE-AI, X-CUBE-BLE1, X-CUBE-MEMS1, X-CUBE-NFC4 but neither SOUNDTER1 nor SMARTMIC1.

Hello @Tobias Heiß

we are considering the introduction of other Expansion Packages for the future.

Today the list of available packages is the following: X-CUBE-AI, X-CUBE-ALGOBUILD, X-CUBE-BLE1, X-CUBE-BLE2, X-CUBE-GNSS1, X-CUBE-MEMS1, X-CUBE-NFC4, X-CUBE-SUBG2, X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX.

The purpose of these packages is to support as much as possible the generation of initialization source code for the involved devices. The challenges are that there is a large variety of peripheral combinations on the different MCUs and also the boards have different routing to Arduino connectors.

Concering SOUNDTER1 and SMARTMIC1, our analysis concluded that the support through STM32CubeMX is too complex. STM32CubeMX configurations would vary very much from one MCU to another, reducing the advantages of this solution.
