STM32CubeIDE no more starting

yesterday installed new ide 13.1 , because H563-nucleo board not working with "old" v10.

after some trouble with new "forced login feature" i could make new project from H563 examples.

then i could compile and flash / debug. seem ok so far, then close and shutdown.

then today, start IDE ( on this new workspace) and it cannot start - just "an error has occurred. see log file...metadata.log" . 

come on, what now?

i seen a comment, if problem with new v13 , just delete metadata (ok, i moved to other directoty, to be able to use it again.)

then ide starting up, bt no projects found. ok, i "open new..from filesystem" and it is here again.

but now...cannot compile ! -> error " warning: no encoding set .." .  hmmm...

close ide.

open again...and voila : "an error has occurred. see log file...metadata.log" . 

perfect.

what can i do now ???

To help to dig into your symptoms analysis, is that possible that you share the content of the log files.

In your workspaces directories, there is a directory name .metadata.

Could you please make a zip of all files that are located in this .metadata folder (do not include the subdirectories).

here the log of the v13.1 install...made 1 project, compile, debug...ok. close. 

open ide next day....error. no work.

btw. zip upload not allowed here !!!!!  (what a pita...) made rar file.

btw i tried re-install, make new project - works. next start same : error, see log. no chance to work with STM32IDE.

Try this: in a new workspace, before importing 1st project: open Window-> Preferences->Workspace

Check that Text file encoding is selected (recommended UTF-8).

i tried open new workspace - Text encoding is set to UTF-8 . seem ok. so close IDE, without any project now.

IDE open/start in this empty workspace ok. (great achievement 🙂  ) .

then import (-from existing project) . -> build/compile greyed out, cannot compile. (dont know why...no message.)

ok ok, new project, stm -> from cpu selection, choose F303cbt6. Oooo - cannot download mx..., need to login ti my.st , very great idea, this move. makes me feel very good about STM .

closing actual window, can generate code now. wow. then download 150MB ...can compile now.

now the TEST : close and open ide then... dazong.  no more ide , error -> see log file.

i think, i give up on this....

any tips, what i should try now ? VScode with stm extension?

today new idea: on my PC is also a almost unused Win10/64 partition, so i start this "virgin" Win10 and installed new IDE 13.1.  

first test project: new F303 stm32 project, cube-gen.code-compile all ok. close ide, open again - seem ok.

then new H563 project, with Azure RTOS + USB audio host , cube-gen.code-compile -> 1 error , a header file missing.

close IDE , open --- error (again same) -> see log file.

so seems impossible to work with H563 on IDE 13.1 on Win10.

can open ide and make new project, compile and debug - but only until ide is closed. never start again.

any help on this misery ?
