CubeIDE Issue - H755 LDO/SMPS settings missing

zeboss49

Hello,

I have found a strong isssue in:

STM32CubeIDE

Version: 1.15.1
Build: 21094_20240412_1041 (UTC)

(C) 2024 STMicroelectronics ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

The IOC configurator for the STM32H755 lacks an option in the RCC configuration

Power Parameters -> SupplySource

The PWR_DIRECT_SMPS_SUPPLY setting is missing.

This setting is required for the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q board which default supply configuration:
the SMPS feeds the core without using the LDO.

Regards.

Hello,
thank you for this pertinent remark.
But there's a very simple explanantion.
The screen shot was taken after I reduces the core frequency to 400 MHz.
Setting the core frequency above 400 MHz makes the setting disappear.
Where I was wrong was thinking of that as an issue.
It's a normal behavior, running above 400 MHz does rquire to use the LDO.
Thank you again for your answers.

Hello @zeboss49

I'm not able to reproduce this, everything works fine here using

STM32CubeIDE

Version: 1.15.1

Build: 21094_20240412_1041 (UTC)

Hello,

your screen shot is from 1.14.1 not 1.15.1.

The attached screen shot to my original post shows that the item is missing.

I upgraded to 1.15.1 form a rather old version because the IOC has strong issue rendring the H755 configuration (blank screen).

Then I created a project for the Nucleo board and got a warning saying that the power option (SMPS DIRECT) was not valid.

Do you suggest that I should fully remoce CubeIDE and do a fresh install ?

In this case, is backuping the workspace, clearing the folder, installing a fresh copy and restoring the workspace form the backup a safe solution?

Thx

the latest version of CubeMX does show the option.

I'm using the V1.15.1

Here is the option you are looking for on your own screenshot:
