Hi,
Maybe stupid question... Is this possible to upgrade the STM32VLDiscovery debugger firmware to the latest ST-LINK v2.1 or at least v2 version? BogdanSolved! Go to Solution.

Hi Bogdan,
It is not possible since there is a Hardware difference between ST-LINK v2-1 ( integrated in the Nucleo board ) and ST-LINK ( integrated in the STM32VLDiscovery board ). Best Regards, Nouha

I think it's not possible because st-link upgrade documents have different upgrade path for each st-link version.
I wonder what is the limitation - debuger/emulator hardware on STM32VLDiscovery? The st-link v2-1 has a nice virtual com feature. I was thinking about wiring the appropriate uartx pins to the 2nd stm32 working as emulator. But of course this MCU needs to have st-link v2.1 compatible firmware.Options
