Using W7 with latest version of TrueSTUDIO V7.1.2.
Latest version of STM32CubeMX V4.21.0 eclipse plugin.
Start project in STM32CubeMX for Nucleo-F030R8 or Nucleo-F072RB and start defining setup.
CubeMX often requests to save project which after approx 2 saves it locks up. TrueSTUDIO still works but you have to restart TrueSTUDIO to get CubeMX working again.

Hi,
Sorry for the late answer.
When you say ' Start project in STM32CubeMX for Nucleo-F030R8 or Nucleo-F072RB and start defining setup.
CubeMX often requests to save project which after approx 2 saves it locks up. TrueSTUDIO still works but you have to restart TrueSTUDIO to get CubeMX working again.'
What do you mean by defining setup (which steps?)?
I load the Nucleo board F030R8 and generate project with TrueStudio with CubeMX4.23. I don't have to restart TrueSTUDIO to get CubeMX working again.
Please, sens us your ioc file if the problem persists and give us more details in order to help you.

Hi Jeanne,
Sorry, it has been so long since I played with TrueStudio I can't fully
remember the exact scenario. I have since purchased Sommnium, just
before they ceased trading, am currently using Keil free version for F0
series.
If I can interpret my words concerning 'defining setup' correctly, I
assume I was referring to the process of peripheral and I/O setup.
I only ever had the problem with the plug in into Truestudio, never with
the stand-alone cubeMX.
In my recollections, I think when you would go in to edit the settings
the system would require you to do a save and often when you did this it
would lock up. Sorry I can't be more informative but I just can't
remember fully the complete scenario.
A question for you. I assume this inquiry is in preparation for your
release of the new Truestudio free release for ST customers. Can you
tell me if Keil's RTX OS is able to be supported under Truestudio? I
always liked Truestudio but they did the dirty (I believe IMHO) on their
customers with big price hikes and, how I saw it, misleading them with
their initial reasonable monthly subscription to way overpriced. I would
like to use Truestudio again but am now sort of locked in with RTX code.

Phil

Hi
Wolstencroft.Phillip
,Regarding your question 'Can youtell me if Keil's RTX OS is able to be supported under Truestudio?', Truestudio pro will be soon available and free only for STM32 (which supports FreeRTOS).
Truestudio Lite supports STM32 (FreeRTOS).

Hi Jeanne,
Ok thanks for your reply, will look into it.
Another few question regarding Truestudio and other ST supported compilers.
(1)
ST currently has its own compiler, SW4STM32. In view of ST's acquirement
of Atollic is it safe to assume that SW4STM32 will be dropped or phased
out??
(2)
Also, ST currently is working with Keil in offering a free license to
users using the STM32F0 series of processors. Is it also safe to assume
that this to will be dropped??
I am currently using this offering but am still relatively in the early
stages of my projects. I would rather do the swap now if this is the
likely intent of ST.
(3)
How soon can we expect the release of the new revamped Truestudio Pro?
Is it possible to utilize the current release until then?
regards
Phil
